The home was clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. Bedrooms were great with nice King beds, night stands with lamps and full bath for each. The views outside the large windows were beautiful. Great sunsets and stargazing! The spacious lower level was a fun gathering space.

Our 2 daughters and sons-in-laws and us stayed here in July. The separation of the bedrooms gave us privacy, but we could all be together. Lots of great space and gathering spots in this house and we used the hot tub each night and enjoyed stargazing. Not too far from town, (about 9 min). Simple decor that is homey, but not in the way of putting out our things. We felt right at home. Highly recommend!

Great girls’ weekend in Galena. The property has enough space for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. Access to the pool was a huge plus since the hot tub was out of commission for most of our stay.

There were two things that we would give a heads up about, the hot tub did not seem clean, and no soap in showers.

Hard to say what was best. The setting with all the fields and birds, the wall of windows to see the the outdoors, the screened in porch to eat meals the front porch rocking chairs, the close distance to golf and hiking the comfortable beds. It was incredible to see the storms rolling in on Friday. (And just a little scary!). Thank you for sharing your home

We picked Bayward Lodge for a getaway weekend with friends - Galena was a central meeting place for our group. The place was absolutely beautiful and checked all of our boxes: nice view, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, gameroom, kitchen, etc. We could not have asked for anything better. The house was very clean and the kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. The beds were comfortable with the exception of the one in the basement that as a sag in the middle. The roads to get there are curvy and narrow, but we appreciate being out of the city and away from noise and traffic! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone!

This was a great find for our party of six. House was huge! Bedrooms were more than accomodating and each had a private bath (definetly a plus for our middle age group!) It was clean and comfortable, enjoyed the real fireplace on the cool night.
We have stayed at multiple properties in the territories over the years. This was another great find and would stay again in the future.

Our family of 6 had an excellent time at Bayward Lodge! The Lodge comes with many utensils, a fully stocked kitchen and was well kept. You are truly away from everything, and the night skies are dark and lovely. We like a vacation where we can just hang out together and relax, and we found that at Bayward Lodge.

Stayed with 2 other couples for a weekend getaway. We stayed at this house several years ago, and it has really gone downhill. Paint is peeling off the walls and ceilings. Obvious that water is somehow getting into the walls. The towels that were "clean" and ready for us smelled horrible. And the house just wasn't clean. Very obvious that under tables and chairs it doesn't get cleaned either often or very well. Also the king bed in the lower bedroom needs to have the mattress replaced. Woke up sore every morning. Property was accurately described, but the house needs some serious updates and we would not stay here again.

This was a great place to stay for our annual mid-week outing. We spent a day in Galena and another in Dubuque seeing the sights and dining. But the lodge provided a wonderful place to share in conversation - plus, we used all the special features of the lodge, e.g. hot tub, pool table and outdoor fireplace.

This house was so perfect for our “framily” getaway. The property was beautiful and the house was a quintessential log cabin with so much space to spread out. We loved the large beds and especially the fire pit for evening s’mores with the kids.

This house if perfect for a family reunion. The 3 bedrooms and 4 baths was perfect for our 6 adults/3 couples. The walkout lower level with pool table and PacMan arcade games was a great gathering area. The great room connected to the kitchen was wonderful for cooking and gathering together. We all loved the house and will be back!

I love the location and how beautiful the yard is. The house meets all of our rooming needs. The three king size beds are wonderful and having a rec room on the bottom gives so much room. Yes to the hot tub which is maintained. The only thing we needed was a broom, dustpan, and a vacuum.

The beds are fine, showers are hot, and it’s very spacious. But for the price to stay, I assumed it would be nicer. The pictures don’t show all of the cracks along the walls in the kitchen. I don’t think any of the interior walls have been repainted since it was built. They are pretty beat up. Yes there is complimentary Wi-Fi but we were unable to access it. The “well appointed kitchen” had no kcups as stated, no baggies, Saran Wrap and only the most basic spices. When it says firewood provided, just bring matches they mean it. No matches, newspaper or kindling. There are only 3 chairs by the fire pit which was not great for 4 people. There are no chairs on the deck off of the living room. The hot tub was stuck at 105 degrees which was a bit much. The bathroom towels are super thick which is great but so scratchy we used our beach towels.
The check in process is easy and the communication prior to arrival was great. The photos of the owners club make everything appear much larger than it actually is, but it is still a really nice facility!
It’s just not a stay again place for us and we were overall unimpressed.

We stayed over they weekend, everything was wonderful. We stayed on the screened in porch most of the time to visit, the tvs were only on before bed. The area is beautiful, house was clean, beds were comfy and I slept all night and never woke up. The surrounding area felt secure and the neighbors were quiet. Wish all my vacations were that relaxing!

The game room/pool table were great for some fun and games during the cold weather days. The hot tub was great and we used it daily. Two couples recently stayed a few nights at this residence and we would highly recommend it for couples or families. The residence is large, clean and very well-appointed. All the furniture was comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. A couple of added bonuses....King beds, great hot tub, full-size pool table and a Mrs. PacMan game. Only 12 minutes from downtown Galena. A great get away!

Every year we meet our adult children in Galena for our holiday celebration...we’ve had to switch houses because of our growing family and we loved this house! We will be back again next year! The rooms were the perfect size, loved all the natural light and wood fireplace. House was clean and well kept. Definitely recommend!
