Had a great family vacation, House was clean and well kept. The private beach was wonderful, so relaxing. Mark our chef was amazing, his cooking was excellent. Enjoyed going to town to grocery shop with him, made us feel safe. Very honest, let us know when we were paying to much for something. Mark even cooked things on the side for our 8 month old granddaughter to eat. We will definitely be back, truly relaxing, a great place for a family to spend time together.

If you're looking for a location to just chill than you've found a great spot. There is not much near the property it's a great spot for staying in and enjoying the pool and beach.

This property is awesome. Our group of 7 had a blast. Loved shopping in town, site seeing and most of all relaxing by the resort like pool area in the back of house. Mark is great, and easy going not to mention an awesome cook. Carla was great and easy to work with, answered all our questions. You can't go wrong with this property.

I took my entire family (children and grandchildren) to Sweet Escape and could not have been happier with the villa and chef Mark. The property was very clean and accommodated all 10 of us easily. The pool area was fantastic and the grounds were very well cared for. Chef Mark was wonderful and made planning our meals so easy. The best part was his cooking and attention to our needs. I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone interested in a very nice and relaxing vacation. Also, Collette was super nice and kept our linens and rooms very clean. We ate at the villa every meal except the last night because Mark's cooking was so good. However, the Las Vegas Restaurant just up the beach was very good as well and we treated Mark to dinner on us.

Our stay was excellent. The house was beautiful, exceptionally clean and very well suited for our family vacation. The chef was amazing. Our meals were authentic Jamaican dishes and all of us enjoyed them very much. All of the food was very good or great! If you want a relaxing place to spend time with family, this is your place.

We have stayed in many vacation rentals, this by far was a game changer. The worst thing I can say about it is the pictures don't do it justice! The day we arrived it was storming so it took a bit longer to arrive to the villa. No matter Mark was up and there to greet us. The Host was super responsive and was able to guide the driver as we got closer. We had a group of 6 which included my 2 year old. My Birthday dinner was beautiful Mark set it up so nice. We enjoyed every bite! He also made sure he made a bit on the side for my son (nights we requested spicy) just in case the spice level was a bit high, as well as his favorite breakfast daily 😀 which is pancakes. They had any and everything we needed, from a pump to blow up floaters to a highchair at dinner. For vacation rentals Mark changes the experience, his food was more than delicious (we chose authentic Jamaican food), he accommodated all our Excursions needs, was able to have a massage therapist come on site, COVID Tests, and a water taxi when needed. Our stay was a week long. If you are ok with not being in crowds and not the touristy area this is the place for you. There are so many things to do on this side of the island 🏝 that no one ever tells you about. Stay here it will be worth it!!! 🛩💖

This was our third time visiting Jamaica but our first time in Black River and we had the pleasure of staying at Sweet Escape. The home is exactly as pictured with enough room for our family of seven to spread out. Mark was there to greet us and made some delicious Jamaican meals which we planned together in advance. He helped arranged our transportation to various excursions and was reliable ensuring we had what we need. I can’t thank him enough for the care and attention. Collette was also very kind and a big help with housekeeping. The kids enjoyed the pool and were able to safely explore the beach. It was a comfy and relaxing family vacation and I’m glad we got to create some beautiful memories at this pleasant villa!

Our family stayed at this villa for 14 days. This vacation was unforgettable. The villa is large and very comfortable. The villa has everything you need for a great holiday, bright and comfortable. Cleaning was done every other day, thanks for that. It was also very comfortable to relax and swim in the pool in the yard. The sea is very warm and a stone's throw from the house. We were always in touch with the owner. Thank you Carla for organizing a wonderful stay at the villa. Special thanks to the chef Mark. During our holiday, Mark was part of our family. This was an amazing stay! My Family stayed for a few nights including Christmas and I can’t say enough positive things about our experience! The chef was amazing, property is very clean and the pictures don’t do it justice!

It took about 2 hours from the airport to the villa. I was already nervous not knowing what to really expect once we got there. Once we arrived at the villa, I was so relieved to see how beautiful this place was. Mark the chef greeted us at the door. From that day on, Mark became my best friend. He made sure we had everything we needed as far as food, drinks and transportation to anywhere we needed to go.. Also, try to help us understand the money value.( we're still working on that ) lol. Mark is such a great chef. I can talk about him all day but you need to know how beautiful this villa is also. I Love an open floor plan. Everyone can be together at one time. The villa was extremely clean. The bedrooms are spacious. Love the huge closet space along with the spacious bathrooms. Okay, lets talk about the pool area... 1 word ( AMAZING ) . The picture of the villa doesn't do it any justice. The pool is actually bigger than what is shown on the picture. There's plenty of seating around the pool area . We also loved sitting under the shaded pergola watching the sunset. It was absolutely beautiful.Being though it was Christmas week, Mrs. Carla made sure we had a decorated Christmas tree. I was also celebrating my husband and mother's birthday, Mrs. Carla and Chef Mark helped me put together a fabulous Birthday dinner for them by the pool with white linens balloons. Also schedule them a massage by the pool facing the ocean, I couldn't ask for anything more.. This was everything I see on television come true. Our families had a wonderful trip to Jamaica, made even better by staying at the villa - Sweet Escape. Carla's prompt and courteous communication made planning the trip so much easier. On arrival at the villa we were greeted by Mark who had prepared a delicious meal for our group. All of the meals during our visit were just as good. The villa was well appointed with everything that we needed for our stay. Local knowledge from Mark was invaluable and helped us to enjoy the island experience. Kerion was friendly and kept the house in order. Black River is the best kept secret in Jamaica - perfectly located for your vacation. We would highly recommend this property.

Our stay at Sweet Escape villa was a most enjoyable one. Each member of the family is in agreement that it was an awesome vacation. They got to do what they wanted whether it was swimming in the sea or pool, touring the attractions, playing games or just lazing around. The house was clean, airy and tastefully furnished and surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Kerion the housekeeper, was quiet but pleasant. Mark the chef, was accommodating, patiently answering our questions and even accompanied us to purchase fresh fish and lobster at a nearby fishing village. And not to mention his cooking! Everyone raved about the tasty Jamaican dishes he prepared. The one disappointment was that there were only 3 bathrooms inside the villa instead of the 4 advertised. This was disconcerting at first but we soon got around this. Overall we had a wonderful time at Sweet Escape. Thank you Carla, Mark and Kerion!

We just spent 6 nights at Sweet Escape with 2 families of 4, and loved every minute of it! I was a little nervous booking the place, with no reviews at the time, and a location outside of the tourist areas of Jamaica. But for anyone else hesitating - do it. The house was very well kept thanks to a great housekeeper; the pool was larger than the photos suggest, and the beach was peaceful and relaxing. But my biggest kudos go to Marc, the chef - he was amazing. He worked with us on setting a meal plan, shopped for all ingredients with us and cooked some wonderful Jamaican cuisine (the fried chicken and curry goat were our favorites). He also helped with organizing the excursions and navigating the local scene. We felt safe the entire time with him with us. The must-dos for anyone staying here are the Pelican Bar and YS Falls. The ride from the airport is a little long and bumpy, but the scenery is beautiful. We have already recommended the place to friends, and would go back ourselves in a heartbeat!

We had a fabulous time here! The villa is beautiful with so many spots to relax and enjoy the view. Waking up in the morning and enjoying your morning coffee on the balcony and seeing the caribean sea right in front of you. Relaxing areas to sit and read inside and outside. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. A perfect place to go for a beach vacation. Relax on the cabana, sit under the umbrella, hunt for shells on the beach. Then you can retire to poolside with lovely seating under the gazebo. Play volleyball in the pool or just relax on a raft. Everything is available to make your stay a memorable one! Most special of our stay was the care and attention provided by Mark and Keri!! Mark is the personal chef who pampers you with Jamaican culinary delights! He's a fantastic cook and also watches over the property setting up the grounds each morning. We enjoyed getting to know him and learn more of the Jamaican culture. Keri is the housekeeper and did an excellent job of keeping the house clean throughout our stay. I would be remiss not to include Carla in my review. She always got back to me readily with any questions I had re: the villa and transportation. She set up a van to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the villa - no worries man! She even thought to have a cell phone in the villa for our use if we needed to talk with her or arrange transportation. She has everything well thought out for you to have a safe and happy stay while there. We had a family of 10 and everyone was in agreement that we want to come back!!
