Remodeled Lake House

Well first and foremost the host is very responsive and helpful. Like many others stated the outside is well not so appealing. But the inside is all new, clean and updated. Guess thats the most important. Would give it a solid 10 if the outside was updated, cleaned and painted. If there during heavy rains watch out for the flooding in patio area and entryway,

We loved this property! This was our second time renting from David and we really have enjoyed our time at this location, you could see the Lake right out the windows. We well definitely be renting again 😁

We had a wonderful stay! The house is in a beautiful location and we loved the views. David was very responsive to any questions before and during our stay. The property was clean and we had everything we needed! Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great trip to see the great elipse of 2024. The house is not eye catching from the outside but is clean, spacious and comfortable inside. Nice and welcoming decors and everything you need. Large enough to have several local family members for my dad's birthday cookout. Nice grill and firepit for roasting marshmallows. The view at sunset is amazing! The lake is just across the small gravel road so you are right there. Grocery store just up the road and highly recommend Top Shelf Pizza around the corner. A few things to be aware of is that the neighborhood has very narrow gravel streets and is packed tightly together so you don't get a private feel. It wasn't an issue for us as we enjoyed meeting the passersby and petting all the dogs, but some guests may be looking for a more isolated feel. Also if you are coming during colder months, I recommend bringing some extra blankets because it's set up more for summer guest. Overall, a great trip and would totally visit again!

This is our 2nd visit and loved the clean, cozy cottage! Nice lake views from kitchen table and sun room porch. Inside is super cute with all the base kitchen needs.
Outside porch has a lake view and dock with boat slip makes for a great trip.

The property is as listed. The inside of cottage is very nice and comfortable. The outside space could use a little TLC to make it a bit more enjoyable. The only water access is the narrow dock. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for a couple or small family.

Relaxing on Honeoye Lake
Although the inside of the cottage was comfortable and had a well equipped kitchen, bathroom and living room with extras, including books, games and movies, the outside needs some work and TLC. First impressions do matter and driving up to the cottage the first thing you see is a place needing paint, windows that need washing and weeds that need pulling out. Then it would look like a little "gem" of a cottage on the lake! Beautiful setting!

Great for boating and families
Stayed with a family with younger children. Used the dock and boat hoist. The cottage was clean and all amenities worked well. Great location and close to a park for the kids.

Lovely lake, peaceful setting
Property was right on the lake as described. Nice area. Peaceful. Close to other lakes too. Only issue is mini blinds were all broken, windows did not lock properly. I am from a large metropolitan area where security is essential.

Labor Day Stay
There was no info on what to do with trash or anything else for that matter. Also outside chairs were made of very thin plastic. I have 6 spinal fusions and the chair exploded on me. Lucky I was close to the ground. After looking at all the chairs they all were cracked.After the fall I had all was good. Except for spiders.

Comfy cottage
This is the second time we've rented this cottage, so, obviously, we enjoyed the first time enough to come again. The owner is laid back and pleasant to work with. The cottage is well appointed, has a great, level lot. We all enjoyed the covered picnic area, too.
We recommend this highly.

Clean and cozy cottage with fabulous water views
Walking into this cottage our 1st day, we were delighted. Very clean and organized; so many amenities. Loved the welcoming wine! Very comfortable beds. Cottage is in a great location. My granddaughter loved the small park that is a short walk from the cottage. We enjoyed campfires a couple nights. Close to Sandy Bottom Beach park, nature trails, restaurants and other venues. Will definitely reserve this cottage again. Owner very nice and quick to respond.

Excellent stay
The cottage was perfect. Everything was sparkling clean, the beds and couches comfortable, and there were plenty of games, movies and books to occupy us. We’d rent it again!

Fishing from the shore impossible because of water foliage. I came here to fish. Very disappointing.

Great Cottage
Because of the pandemic, we decided we wanted a place where we could have company but still social distance. This place is perfect. We had up to 10 family members visiting at a time. There's plenty of outdoor space, and for my elderly mom, it's on a level lawn.
The inside is very nicely done, clean and comfortable. We were all very happy with it.

Relaxing week away
The property was very clean and everything was updated. There were many views of the lake throughout the house. We enjoyed the porch looking out at the lake. Things were nice and quiet during the week.

What a great little house in a great little comunity
We loved our stay in this little gem on the lake. The house was spotlessly clean, newly renovated and although the bedrooms were tiny, the rest of the house was spacious. Beautiful lake views, and beach access. The house is exactly as described. The owner left us a bottle of wine and all we needed for s'mores at the fire pit. The house is in a quiet little community filled with friendly people that always say hello. It's a great big world with lots to see but if we are ever heading back to Honeoye lake, we would stay at this cottage again. Check out Birdhouse Brewery right in town. It's a nice little brewery run by some nice people.

Nice getaway
Cabin was as pictured, so no surprises. Only issue inside was sink in kitchen the garbage disposal had been turned off so water got really backed up when you were trying to use it and had to keep waiting and worrying it wouldn't go down. And outside the smell of dead fish was pretty bad a lot of time. But those were minor problems and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Girls weekend!
What a great property! David was a great owner to work with. Neighbors are very friendly. We actually were suppose to be in a bowling tournament that was canceled due to Covid19. We decided to come anyways and turn it into a fishing, cornhole, sit by the fire weekend. It was a perfect weekend! Highly recommend this property.

2 week relaxing stay
I enjoyed 2 weeks in this very clean, cozy cottage. It is a quiet neighborhood with very friendly people. Everything about the home was comfortable and well stocked. Great gem in Honeoye! Would stay again and recommend to all.

We had a family reunion on Lake Honeoye. It was a trip to see where my wife's father had grown up. We were greeted by beautiful fall weather and a enjoyed a relaxing stay at this home. It was modern, clean and friendly. It had everything we needed and more. Comfortable and conveient.

Weekend getaway
We had an amazing weekend at the cottage. The place was remodeled and very clean. The location was great and we were able to go hiking and visit nearby wineries. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend to anyone.

A sweet little cottage
Very, very clean. House has had a renovation which was nicely done. Beds were just OK. Both could use a foam topper for more comfort for these old bones. Kitchen was very well outfitted with just about anything you might need. The owner supplied paper towels, bathrrom tissue, kleenex. paper napkins, ground coffee, filters, garbage bags and all the fixings for smores. We never got around to making the smores but the chocolate disappeared although my husband has no theories as to how that happened. There was also a wonderful bottle of wine which we enjoyed with friends.
This sweet cottage overlooks the lake and we saw a couple of nice sunsets. The neighborhood is very quiet and pleasant. If you are using a GPS to get to the cottage, enter the address as W. Sedgwick.
We enjoyed our visit to Honeoye Lake and hope to make another trip in the future and to rent this lovely cottage again.

Great Location
We had a very nice family vacation at this property. It was well equiped for a family and while the house was simple it also had everything we needed. We loved how close it was to the water and that we could enjoy our afternoons relaxing in the chairs by the water. The only down side to this stay was the beds. They were very hard and it made sleeping difficult. This is the reason for 3 stars, other than this the stay was great, but bed comfort really is important for a home away from home stay.

Anniversary getaway
We had a great time for our anniversary. Beautiful house and very clean. Everything you needed was there which made for an easy stay. Had a nice walk along the lake.Close country drive to many great restaurants. Made it very easy for my husband to arrange flowers and chocolates for delivery to surprise me when we arrived as well as a bottle of wine and everything needed for s’mores. We will definitely be back.

Great Lakeside Getaway
We had an amazing time at David's lake house! It was clean, spacious, comfortable, and just steps from the beautiful lake. The host was quick to respond to all of our questions and very accommodating, even bringing us a Pack n' Play for our baby so we didn't have to bring it ourselves. The house itself was baby-friendly, as was the lakeside park just down the road. The drive there made us think we were going to the middle of nowhere, but in fact there's a supermarket a mile a way, as well as CVS and other stores. We loved the outdoor grill and seating area, and spent the evenings watching the sunset and making smores at the firepit. We highly recommend this rental!

Wonderful stay at a “home away from home”
David was wonderful. From accommodating our travel dates to the nice little touches of wine and s’mores we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in our little “home away from home.” A perfect location for our family of 5.
