We were a very diverse family group of 12 - ages 11-70 - and Casa Britto was absolutely perfect for us. First, location - the Central Valley is totally under-rated as a home base during your Costa Rica stay. The weather was always fresh, never hot, and the location is central to so many day trips within 1-3 hours - coffee plantations, national parks, volcanoes, zip lines, and the beach. The house itself is incredible. So beautiful and well-finished, but at the same time as comfortable as home. Spacious but cozy. Beds so comfortable. There was easily enough space for 12 people to hang out together as a group or separate into smaller sections of the house with the privacy to enjoy quiet time and reading. There are many smaller sitting areas throughout the house and the outdoor areas to enjoy with sub-groups. For our entire stay we lived a seamless indoor/outdoor life with the doors and windows flung open , as one is able to do in the moderate Central Valley climate. We had one issue with the swimming pool heat (you do need heat because the nights are cool) but the owners promptly rectified the issue with a repairman, even though he was called the day after Christmas. The only minor nuisance is that the next door neighbor seems to have about ten dogs that sometimes act as alarm clocks at the crack of dawn, but that is to be expected to some degree throughout the country, and after a couple of nights it was less noticeable - and the barking was for minutes, not hours. We would highly recommend hiring the cook, Jasmine, who prepared a dinner for us one night - absolutely delicious food and a joy to be with her. And a very reasonable price. The housekeeper Cristina was also very helpful with connecting us to local services - we needed a doctor/pharmacist for one of our family members. From the beginning, the owners were very clear and helpful about the process of getting to the house from the airport and other details that needed to be worked out before and upon our arrival. Usually on the last day of a vacation, you move to the "it'll be nice to get back home" phase. But here, we really didn't want to leave. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this wonderful, comfortable home end of April 2017 and it had everything we could want or need. The house is located in a quiet area of Escazu, on a hillside overlooking San José and the Central Valley. The house is very well arranged .Superb and big garden, swiming pool. We would highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a house in San Jose Costa Rica.

There is a pretty garden, a very relaxed pool area and two large veranda's with fabulous views over San Jose. The photos really don't do justice to the space. Antonio and Marta are excellent hosts and we quickly struck up a warm relationship with them. They were attentive to our every question and requirement and went to almost embarassing lengths to resolve our the internet problem we encountered (through no fault of theirs: the problem, it transpired, was with the provider). Antonio did actually go to embarassing lengths once he discovered that some of our party we cyclists. Antonio himself is a keen rider and has a great knowledge of the local rides, which, given that San Jose lies between two mountain ranges, are both challenging and spectacular. Not content with arranging road rides for us, Antonio was able to fix for us to ride the beautiful Pargue de la Paz velodrome, definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. If I were pressed for a criticism of the otherwise perfect Casa Britto, it would be that having three bedrooms without en-suite facilities share one bathroom can make long post-ride showers slightly contentious. But this is a small drawback for an otherwise great house. I can quite safely highly recommend Cassa Britto.

It had a grill, fireplace, seating and best of all, a spectacular view of the San Jose valley. Watching the New Year’s fireworks from there was an experience that we will never forget. The pool was nice and warm with plenty of lounge seating. The flora all through the property were a wonderful surprise. We weren’t expecting such a beautifully maintained and well thought out maze of gardens to explore. It was really very special and unique. Without hesitation, we would rent this property again. The property was gorgeous and perfect for a big family. Plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is well stocked we had a bbq and everything was there for us to cook. The pool is awesome and has a great fountain. Each bedroom is nice and the master is excellent with its own bathroom and Jacuzzi tub! I highly recommend this property, we will be back in the future!

We had a wonderful stay in Casa Britto! The residence leaves nothing to ask for. It´s set in a beautiful tropical garden overlooking San José and the Poas volcano. We had company by the hummingbirds and butterflies around the poolarea, and the pool was heated which we really appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped with a restaurant-size gas stove (my husband can´t stop talking about it) and the jacuzzi was soothing after our zipline-adventures in the rainforest. My wife and I got married on April 18th, 2015. We decided to accommodate all my cousins and extended family at Casa Britto (12 adults and 4 children) for 4 nights. We also held our pre-wedding family dinner at Casa Britto for 40 persons, catered by the chef recommended to us by the owners Antonio and Marta. Everything was perfect! All our families rave about Casa Britto and the lifetime of fantastic memories they have from their shared time there, and the pre-wedding dinner! Antonio and Marta took care of every detail, with excellent support with logistics from Zeida and Pablo. We would highly recommend Casa Britto to anyone hoping for a similar experience. My family hopes to create more memories in the future with another stay there!

The home is beautiful and the property was well kept and had great views of the valley. It had ample room for a full house of people including a 40 person family reunion BBQ which was catered by Casa Britto. The heated pool was the center of attention, it too had views of the valley. Overall we were extremely pleased with the house and we would definitely recommend it.

This was my second visit to this beautiful home, which was maintained maticulously. the property was amazing bith inside and out. I would highly recommend this property for a large or small group. It is centrally located which made it easy to gt around. The layout and ammenities were excellent for relaxation, and the heated pool and the view was absolutely the best I have seen. The owners Antonio and Marta were great to work with and very accommodating. the were available for questions and ensure that all was as expected. the maid Maria ensured that the house was clean on a daily basis. I stayed at Cash Britto with 7 of my friends for my birthday weekend and had a blast. I was greeted nicely and setup with taxi, emergency, and food contacts which were very helpful. The view from the mansion was beautiful and I used all of the memory in my camera with pics of the property. The heated pool was great when we all wanted to unwind in the morning. The location was great and Wal-Mart was just a 8min taxi ride and we were able to get everything we needed for our stay. I want to thank the staff at Casa Britto for a fantastic vacation and I will be returning.

I organized a trip to Costa Rica for a group of 14 people (12 adults and 2 children): of which were my family and close friends. Though getting around Costa Rica can be a bit tricky (It is why GPS is highly recommended) and we got lost for a few minutes trying to locate this property eventually we were able to locate our house. What can I say about this property, but WOW! My family and friends were taken aback by how beautiful and spacious this house was, so much so that they were still raving about it weeks after we returned home. The overall house was well designed; the rooms were open and there was great lighting all throughout the house. The staff working at the house were amazing (from the property managers to the staff actually working at the house). The maid and the maintenance guy were very sweet, hospitable, and always willing to help. Every morning that we woke up the house was already cleaned as well as the pool. The location of the house was ideal and not too far away from all the activities that we did daily: The beach, the national park, the waterfalls La Paz, Volcano Poas, and the canopy zip line tour was all within an hour's drive. We decided to cook most of the food we ate, but when we did go out for lunch or dinner on occasion the food from the local restaurants was delicious and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend anyone planning to stay in the San Jose area (mind you this house is removed enough from noise of the city being that it is located in the mountain side) to rent this house. I can't wait to return to Costa Rica again and spend my days in this beautiful house relaxing by the pool side.

Strategically located in the foothills of San Jose, this residence (although I felt at home) was singularly our best selection of the hotels and homes we stayed at, during our visit to Costa Ricca. The simple elegance, its ambience, and spaciousness, enabled us the enjoyment of each other, and quiet solitary escape when peace and quiet were desired. And trust me … there were times I felt I needed it. Evelyn … what an asset to our stay. Both Evelyn and Alex enhanced the experience by providing support, direction and additional use of staff, for the banquet dinner we held during our stay. And to the enthusiast that holds dinner parties, it's a rare feat to find a home adequately equipped for small dinner parties. Your home provided the ideal setting, and allowed us to create the perfect impression. The amenities, and your kitchen so adequately suited our needs, negating our need to rent or hire additional dinner settings or equipment. We had family from all ages of the spectrum from pre-teen, teenagers, young folk in there 20's, parents, aunts, uncles & grandparents. And still each of us were able to find our own piece paradise & escape. The pool was sensational, and heated to a perfect temperature, with water fountains & well tended lawns and gardens, a perfect enhancement to the picture. A slight flaw was the lack of flow to the waterfall in the pool, but such a minor detail did not detract from the experience. I'd have loved to have experienced its fall whilst sitting beneath it (and still … it was but a mere flaw). But there you go … we're pool builders, this is what we do, so I was always going to notice it. This luxurious home, is well maintained, lovely and clean. It is well situated and in close proximity to everything. There was something nearby for everyone … the shop-a-holic (a magnificent shopping plaza near by), restaurants, fitness gyms, golf courses, & the Nationa Stadium. We found it easy enough to get about, not knowing the language, with most everything at our finger tips. Beautification played an important role for us ladies, and this too was met with ease. The experience of staying at your home has left us with a want to both return to Costa Ricca, and particularly to the Casa Britta. Congratulations on such a beautiful home, and on providing us with a most enjoyable experience. Folks … … it is rare to find luxury and joy at this level. To experience ... is to know! You will not regret the stay.

We had a formal dinner banquet for 30 people, and what I liked probably the most was the fact that everything I needed in the way of plates servery platters utensils glasses etc etc was all there. Everything. I loved the stove and didn't even need to bbq because of the fantastic grill on the stove. Thank you for helping me to create such a beautiful banquet for our esteemed guests they were so impressed also which made for an even more successful evening.

We stayed at Casa Britto for a week in March. My only regret is how little time we got to spend enjoying the house and especially the gardens and pool! With so many attractions to see, it was a busy vacation! But we made it a point on our last day to spend the whole day by the pool and it was heaven! The house has everything one can need and room for a very large group. Lots of sitting areas to relax and enjoy the views. Great staff too, it was such a treat to be greeted at the airport by Jose and to have Maria take care of us and Pablo care for the property! Thank you Antonio and Marta (and Evelyn and Feliz too!)

Casa Britto was an excellent choice for our visit to Costa Rica. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. This secluded hideaway is located on a hillside in Escazu, which is about 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of San Jose. The accommodations and staff were exceptional. The property is spacious with lovely areas for gathering. Also, there were plenty of places for solitary reading and relaxation. There were six in our group. A bonus was each of us was able to have our own bedroom. Another bonus was the heated swimming pool. It was one of our favorite gathering places. The one thing that would have made our trip better is having a driver who spoke English. He was a good driver, he was helpful, polite and punctual. But, considering what we were charged the driver should have been able to point out and discuss points of interest and answer questions about some of the sites we visited. Dr. J

Overall a fantastic experience. The house sits on a side of the mountain with great views of san jose. The people who take of the house are always there for you. They do almost anything you ask them to do. The house is well maintained and its very roomy even for a large group. The weather is just about perfect. Low 80's in the afternoon and low 60's at night. The distance to downtown area is only a short 10 to 15 minute drive. I cant wait to go back next year.

This is one of the best vacation houses that my friends and I have been to. Perched on top of a hill with a panoramic view of the city and a beautiful cloud covered mountain background. This place is secluded and we really enjoy the quiet surroundings. The villa can easily house 5 couples and kids. Spacious bed rooms. Fantastic patio with wall to wall glass panel living room. the best is the heated swimming pool, which is particularly good in the chilly and windy January weather. The owner also arranged a BBQ for us which was very enjoyable. The villa is very well maintained; extremely clean and the staff is very courteous. The only minor issue that I had was that the staff didn't speak English; only Spanish. I would give this place a 5 star and highly recommend to any one wanting to chill and unwind.

This is a fabulous property both inside and outside. The tropical garden is full of citrus trees, figs, flowers and birds. The house is spacious yet cozy. There is a spectacular view of San Jose from almost every room. We were a party of 10 people and the house did not feel crowded at all. The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and the location is convenient to the airport (20 minutes) as well as to many activities, national parks and volcanoes.

We chose CasaBritto, to our private party (60 pax). Everyone at the party fell in love with the house and the deck. Is located in the hills of Escazu close to everything in a quiet area with spectacular views of the city of San Jose. The house has a spectacular decoration, is clean and large. The gardens are beautiful (lots of flowers and trees) and the pool very clean. The staff Maria and Pablo, they were always friendly and ready to help. CasaBritto is perfect for large families and big parties. I recommend this property when visiting San Jose.

Recently, on an extended stay in San Jose I stayed at Casa Britto. The house is well situated in Escazu and is oasis of calm from the busy city. The garden is spectacular, and well kept by the friendly and helpful gardener Pablo. The house is well kept, and provided us the space we needed to accommodate my large family. The owner/manager was very helpful making sure we were comfortable and that all our needs were met. Without question, I recommend this property when visiting San Jose.
