I was impressed with our stay at Herbst’s Hidaway. The house was spacious and clean. The kitchen was full loaded with all that you would need. We enjoyed sitting out on the dock to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Plenty of chairs inside and out. I would recommend this house to anyone and book this house again.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and we love it. It is a great location and a beautiful house with everything we need.

The house and property is so much more beautiful in person- the pictures certainly do not do it justice! We had a wonderful time there and were VERY pleasantly surprised and just how beautiful the house was.

This was the perfect place to get away for a long weekend with friends to celebrate 2 birthdays and an anniversary. The house was exactly as advertised and had everything!! From things to cook with to a ton of games, everything was thought out and was truly home away from home. Host was very responsive. Cannot think of 1 thing I would change!!

The property worked really well for our group. Plenty of space to spread out and spend time together. I loved doing yoga on the dock in the mornings. A beautiful place inside and out! Highly recommend.

This house was wonderful. It was quiet with a wonderful view of the lake. It was central to many activities and we had a great time. It rained one day and we stayed in and played games and listen to music. What a great time.

We absolutely love this home, it provides everything you need plus some! The kitchen is a great size and allows us to all gather and cook for each other. Each bedroom is perfect for each couple and plenty of room for heavy packers. Two of the bedrooms have their own en suite. We stay annually and love it more and more. There were tree trimmers blocking the road on a weekday during normal working hours and we needed to wait for them to move (the driveway to the houses is one lane) but the workers were very nice-I told them I rent and they were able to move the tree trimmings and 2 large trucks in 5-10 mins. It wasn’t any trouble! We rent a van to drive us around on the weekends- we’ve never ran into any problems getting a van there. Walking distance (about a mile) to the Climbing Bines brewery. Beautiful view and area to walk around. Neighbors are really nice too!

The location of this house is perfectly set in the middle of the lake ! Close to wineries and right on the lake. We enjoyed the dock for morning coffee and just relaxing. We used the fire pit since our nights had a chilly breeze from the lake. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. The beds are super comfortable. There is even a sound system throughout the house and outdoors with remote control. Matt responds quickly to any questions.

This home is spotless, well-stocked and sized perfectly for our group of 4 couples. The view is fantastic and the location’s proximity to wineries and breweries is terrific. This was our 3rd annual trip to this property and we are already planning our return for year 4!

This was our second time staying at the Herbst’s house. The location and views are priceless. Dealing with the owner Matt was easy. If we had any questions he was a phone call or text away. We will definitely stay there again. Thanks Matt

Another amazing stay at Herbst Hideaway! My family, friends and I enjoyed the beautiful sunrises, hanging out on the dock, kayaking and the close proximity to the wineries and breweries. The house itself was so clean and comfortable. Matt the owner responded so quickly if we had any questions. Overall, we had a super time!!

This was our first vacation out of state with our entire family. Our group included 6 adults and 4 children. The house was perfect for our needs. Our grandchildren swam morning, noon and night and absolutely loved the swim raft. We took full advantage of the paddle boat and kayaks too. One of our favorite activities was hiking to see all the beautiful rock formations, rivers and waterfalls. The Finger Lakes area of New York is absolutely gorgeous. We’re so glad we chose to visit that region and stay at Herbst Hideaway. Matt was very prompt responding to all of our questions and made our check in process super easy. Thanks for opening up your lovely home on beautiful Seneca Lake to our family. We made lots of special memories there.

Upon entering the home I was so impressed as I thought the pictures looked nice, but it was even better in person. So clean, updated and the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking gear and the bathroom had a closet full of bath towels. There were kayaks, a paddle boat, rafts and even boat shoes! I have always gone to the Jersey Shore or Disney and this truly beats both! Gwenn & John

House was absolutely beautiful and fit our family perfectly! The house is fully stocked with everything and more! We have rented a lot of houses over the years and this house had more than any other house ever had! Owner was great to work with and extremely helpful! So nice to have someone review everything with us when we arrived! Will rent again!

Very clean and great sunrise over the lake. Adult and kid kayaks and paddle boat were used everyday. We even caught a fish while relaxing in the paddle boat. There were numerous wineries and breweries not far from the house

The house is just as described and more. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. The dock is lovely in the morning with coffee. Communication with the owner was fabulous. We also had a great time exploring the area - including the Keuka Outlet Trail, Watkins Glen, the Corning Glass Museum, Skaneateles, even did a day trip to Niagara, and several wineries and breweries. Would definitely recommend!

Each year in May or June ten friends travel to the finger lakes for our ladies wine weekend. Each year we pick a different area to explore, this year Seneca Lake. We had a wonderful stay in Penn Yan. So much to see & do. Spent time in Geneva & Watkins Glen. Not mention all the wineries. Herbst’s Hideway was the perfect setting. Each morning waking up to the beauty of Seneca Lake. Matthew, the owner was very responsive to our questions. The house was perfect. Nice size kitchen with all the necessities. Very clean and comfortable sleeping. Large open kitchen/dining area was stocked with all we needed and had plenty of seating for our group of 12. Lakefront views and access were perfect. We used the boat lift, dock, kayaks and peddle boat for lots of water fun and fishing. The sound system was excellent including dock and separate room speakers. The fire pit was fun for evening fires, smores and conversation. Plenty of outdoor seating on upper, lower and dock areas. Matt was very responsive to all questions and needs. We'd definitely stay again.

the best house! …gorgeous place right in the lake, very clean, fully stocked without having to bring all the house necessities along. Matt was super helpful ensuring we knew where everything was in the house.

We stayed here with 8 people as part of our Seneca 7 relay team. The location was middle of the lake which made it easy to get places. It is near one of our favorites, Climbing Bines! Matt (the host) was very nice, communicative, and the house was really nice, with beautiful views. The sounds system was amazing too!

Matthew was a pleasure to communicate with. His house is absolutely immaculate. It’s so clean and spacious. The kitchen is fully stocked - we were able to cook several meals over the weekend. The outdoor area is so beautiful. We are already planning a trip back to Matthew’s house next year!

Just completed our second annual stay at this awesome home. Eight adults totally enjoyed this fully stocked home, it’s wonderful wine trail location, more than enough room for everyone and many gorgeous views! Already planning our third visit for 2023!
