Historic Adobe in Old Town Albuquerque Three Blocks from the Plaza

We had a wonderful weekend stay right in the heart of Old Town, and a the same time quiet and peaceful. The house is lovely and full of character that makes you feel as if you’ve stepped back into Albuquerque’s past. Yet in spite of all the charm it has all the modern updates you need and expect!

Our second stay at Carol's home was just as perfect as the first time! The wonderful adobe house - with beautiful Southwestern decor and all amenities - has added so much to our Albuquerque experience. We love that the location is so close to Old Town and just across the street from Tiguex Park. We highly recommend this home and we definitely plan to book it again!

We were 4 women attending a program at nearby Hotel Albuquerque. The location of this home is fabulous & not just because of its proximity to Hotel Albuquerque. First, it was an easy 10 minute walk to Hotel Albuquerque and it seemed a safe walk at night on wide even walkways. We discovered a half block away the ABQ Tiny Grocery & the restaurant next door. Breakfast there was very good with some unique twists. You can buy a loaf of fresh sourdough & jam (& some fresh fruit & veggies) at the Tiny Store when you are done with breakfast. A lovely park is right across the street from the house & the Albuquerque Museum is very close by. There are many walkable stores in Old Town & the Sawmill area which we just didn’t have time for as well as other sites & activities. The home itself is charming & cozy, the beds comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need. The back patio is lovely in the morning. We visited in the summer. Be sure to understand the difference between a swamp cooler, typical for the area & air conditioning in other parts of the country. With the swamp cooler & bedroom fans at night- it worked for us. Carol the manager was very responsive when we had questions both before & after arrival. This home was perfect!

Carol’s historic home was the perfect home-base for our Albuquerque visit! The house was very spacious and very well appointed. The beautifully integrated local décor added greatly to our experience of being in the Southwest. The well-equipped kitchen and wonderfully comfortable spaces both inside and out were great for gathering and relaxing. The location was also perfect – steps to all of the wonderful coffee houses and shops of Old Town as well as Tiguex Park and multiple museums. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

I felt lucky to stay in this charming home. It was beautiful and quirky in all the right ways. Carol is a very thoughtful host and provided many great amenities.
Easy walk to old town and several museums. Close to Lowes for groceries if needed.
Upon arrival a breaker was out and Carols team came within 15 minutes to reset. It's clear that the home is well cared for and so will it's guest be, too.

This wonderful casita is a treasure. Beautifully decorated, warm and inviting spaces and a wonderful fenced yard. Everything we needed was here, making for an easy move in. The owner was terrific! Responsive to all my inquiries and so accommodating with our reservation. Highly recommend!

This house is a comfortable older adobe house located right across the street from a park and just a couple of blocks from the old town . It does have a swamp cooler for cooling and the thick adobe walls do keep it generally cool ( but not as cold as AC). Older TV, great internet and a nice kitchen for simpler meals. Very comfortable beds and nice places to sit and lounge.

Issue was quickly resolved and thanks for that but we were not able to access the keybox for access that and poor cell service on my phone meant we had to decamp to a nearby Starbucks and WiFi necessary to communicate with the owner, success the updated code was provided and we quickly gained entry. I would recommend using keyless entry as the door lock. Still we enjoyed our stay. Old Town ABQ is indeed a special place that made our stay very enjoyable. Thanks!

This beautiful historic adobe was perfect for myself, my partner and brother during a multi-week family visit. The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated and we cooked many meals, including having other family over for dinner. Being from Albuquerque, we appreciated that all of the historic aspects of the home have been preserved and that the updates were not attempts to replicate existing fixtures, but contextual and not overdone. The bathrooms were lovely with lots of storage and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was very helpful and communicative as were the property maintenance folks who checked in before coming over for regular services. The home is adjacent to Old Town with dedicated parking and the location could not be better. It was an absolute joy to stay in this historic adobe and we now have a beautiful memory from our time spent together here.

We were six adults, very comfortable in the house, loved the location. The house was clean and well-cared for and had a lot of charm.

Convenient to Old Town, a nice grocery store, and the freeways. This is a very nicely updated adobe across from the park and museums and a couple of blocks from the Old Town Plaza. No central heat, so took a bit to heat it up in the cold, winter weather but stayed warm and cozy after the first day. Traveling on business, and this place was much more enjoyable than 4 nights in a hotel.

It's exactly what we wanted on our trip to New Mexico. This 100 year old Pueblo is full of charm with all the modern comforts. We did have an issue with the hot water not working the first evening but Carol and her property manager addressed it right away the next day. Old Town was a very short walk. We would definitely come back.

The owner is an excellent communicator with responsive local management, which makes resolving issues easy. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to Old Town and a very good restaurant, Cocina Azul. The house is as described and is in a quiet neighborhood. The beds are comfortable and having fans available was helpful to getting good sleep since we couldn’t open windows. It is a great place to stay and I would definitely want to stay there again.

A very historic house in a perfect location right across the street from Tiguex park and Old Town
We loved our stay at the Old Adobe House. It felt great to be inside of an authentic and historic house. We got the old feel, yet modern amenities (a/c, washer dryer, etc) made for great comfort. Excellent location next to park, museums and old town plaza where I walked less than a block in the morning for my Chai from Black Bird Cafe. We were a family of 5 (3 kids age ranging from 5-12) and everyone loved everything about house and yard. Carol was very responsive and helpful in helping us extend our stay (as everyone wanted the trip to continue). Her instructions for everything we're thorough and her home manual listed great local stores for all the needs of our stay. We will return for future trips!

Enjoy the cool of the stars with the warmth of an original adobe
Many VRBO homes compete to overwhelm their guests with flashy style, artistic drywall, and fanciful dollar store knickknacks that say 'welcome', but are really only Instagram props. The Old Town House however, is one of the few houses that made our group immediately want to sit down, explore, and be comfortable. There is an appeal to a 110-year old traditional adobe: straw-pocked walls, hewn lintels, deep windows, private bedrooms. Some may call it charm, but the home wants its guests to have a cool sangria at the large communal table or to watch the cool of the stars from its patio.
The house is located facing Tiguex park, a calm place for early morning walks or later evening relaxation. A quiet neighborhood of large lots complements a relaxed, private feel for guests. Privacy, is however combined with a convenient, central location. Old Town Plaza, with restaurants and attractions are only 800 feet away. Museums, the Albuquerque Biopark, and shopping are all within a 15 minute walk. Parking on site along with convenient access to the Airport means the Old Town House is an ideal base for exploring central New Mexico.
Care has been taken by the hosts in providing an open, warm, welcoming home. A large, open-space kitchen and dining room make end of the day meals and conversations a pleasure. The hosts have provided a well equipped kitchen for cooking (or reheating) meals, barbecuing, or just lazing away in a large armchair. At night, thick adobe walls and separate bedrooms and bathrooms assure privacy and make this perfect for two couples.
A unique experience!

Wonderful Stay in Old Town
We truly enjoyed the peace and quiet this home provided during our stay. The owner is very quick to respond if there is an issue. She was so kind to allow us to be a guest here during the current pandemic as we retrieved our son from UNM. I would stay here again and again.

Sweet old adobe across the street from the Albuquerque Museum and Tiguex Park
Very well maintained and equipped--and comfortable and roomy--traditional adobe house with well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, coffee grinder, coffee maker, washer, dryer. House has its own driveway and a large backyard area with patios, charcoal grill, and outdoor seating. Bathrooms are spotless.

The location was perfect: quiet, cozy, and so very comfortable. I loved doing jig saw puzzles by the kiva gas fire (very warm on chilly ABQ fall nights). We spent lots of time at the Art Museum and Plaza. So many things to do in the area. The park across the street was wonderful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Never disappointed!
I’ve rented this house 4-5 times. We have never been disappointed. It is an excellent location. So close to the hub of points of interest in Albuquerque: art museum, children’s museum, museum of natural history, old town, Indian cultural center, Durand’s pharmacy for the best southwestern food in town...,,.,,

This is a historic adobe home with all the charm and character that one would expect from an old home. Kiva fireplaces, wood floors but a nicely appointed kitchen and modern appliances. Large dinning room table and several outdoor areas for alfresco dinning or your morning coffee. The location is perfect; right on Tiguex Park, a 3 minute walk to Old Town and 2 minutes to the museums. We were there for the first weekend of Balloon Fiesta and watched one balloon land right in the park. The property was easy to find and the access instruction were clear and easy to follow. All in all its a nice home with all the amenities one would need in a perfect location. We will be back.

Charming authentic adobe in perfect location!!
Carol was so easy to work with and the house has so much character and charm. The location was perfect - only about a block away from Old Town Plaza. Our toddler was so happy to have Tiguex park right across the street, too. And the back courtyard was a wonderful place to soak up some NM sun and relax. Would definitely stay here again!!

A perfect mini family reunion!!
The comfort, layout, location, safety and real furniture (not all IKEA ;-) ) made our time together a wonderful memory! We really enjoyed our Albuquerque week long adventure: 15 minutes to the Airport, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, proximity to Santa Fe, the park, Old Town, the Trading Posts, the Botanical Gardens, fun food and Cooperative Food Supermarket, too!! Lots of fun for all of us to enjoy while together!!
