Nice location near the park with hiking trail on the property to natural hot springs.

Great location next to Rincon de la Vieja Pailas Section. My stay was brief but the staff was great and accommodated my late arrival!

Two comments for future travelers... 1) Be careful with late arrivals. I barely made it in because coming from Liberia, I needed to pass through the property of Hotel Hacienda, and I got there just as they were shutting down their gates around 6:30 or 7 PM. If I had been 10 minutes later, I would have needed to find another way to the hotel! 2) The property is located on a beautiful mountain slope, where there are often strong katabatic winds throughout the night. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs!

Needs updating. Never did get hot water in the shower despite waiting 10 minutes. The bed was like a trampeline

Peaceful location. Lodges set in lovely garden. Good possibilities for hiking. Restaurant food was enjoyable. The gentleman at Reception was very helpful and patient.

the rooms are ver simple and could be a bit more homey, but that’s still fine. the restaurant could have a bit more atmosphere, it’s a bit dark.

Stayed here without a car, it bck onto the RDLV national park and you can walk literally out of the gate and into the park, to waterfalls, hot springs etc. SO whilst location wise it is quite remote (particularly if no car... can't really walk to anywhere for food etc), it was great for what we wanted. Did 2 long (8 and 11 mile) walks from the lodge. The grounds are decent, very nice chilled atmosphere and very pretty sunsets to watch from your veranda. The pool is small but very inviting and looked nice and clean. Plenty of spots to chill with a cold beer around the grounds. There is a restaurant on site that does breakfast and dinner (maybe lunch? wasn't there during the day). The restaurant is OK, food is OK, don't expect great things. Very helpful and friendly staff, but felt a bit like it's the first time they have ever run a restaurant. Ran out of rum on our first night!!!!!!!! Cabins are BASIC but have a decent warm shower, a cupboard and the bed is fine. Ours had a double and 2 singles (we are just a couple) so actually had loads of space for us. Walls are timber and thin, earplugs useful just because of the frogs/crickets/monkeys/birds making a noise. No aircon in ours, but we had a fan that made a very annoying ticking noise. Nice veranda for chilling on. BRING GOOD INSECT REPELLANT - you are basically in the jungle.

we loved our stay here and it was one the highlights of our 2 month Costa Rican adventure. it was better than we expected, with comfortable, spacious lodging (they upgraded our room for free) delicious food, and amazing hiking trails that lead to a private hot spring. the staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

it’s a bit out of the way so you would need a car or taxi to get around (or rent a bicycle there). the Wi-Fi also doesn’t really extend outside of the dining lodge, but that forced us to disconnect and ended up being a positive.

Great Location and Facilities; Nice and beautiful people serving at the hotel. Mr Pablo always was looking to keep us satisfied. Great nature experience.

This was a wonderfully calm and tranquil place to stay. I loved that it was quiet and off the beaten track. The breakfast was delicious and it was very handy to have a restaurant on site for basic meals at other times during the day. It was very hot when I stayed so the pool was wonderfully welcome for cooling off. Also very happy to have hot water available in the bathroom which was an unexpected bonus.

The breakfast buffet was clean, but I didn't know that I could order eggs and toasts.

The wifi had a small range. I had to sit close to the reception in order to get a good signal.

The grounds of the accommodation are amazing, so many lovely areas to relax (by ponds, horses, swimming pool, hammock etc) It is about 3km to Rincon de la veija national park and Guachipelin adventure centre. The cabins are basic but spacious and light. I would definitely stay again and for longer next time!

The property is in an area that is hard to travel about from, if you have a car it’s easy. I was travelling solo with no car but I managed to get around by walking, lifts and help from reception. The cabins could do with a bit of a revamp in some peoples view but I like the rustic feel, if you’re looking for glam luxury this isn’t it, but if you’re looking for the most serene, peaceful accommodation where you feel your the only one there, this is it!

This place is gorgeous! There whole property is a beautiful garden and the hiking trails were amazing. The manager Paulo was very helpful, he gave us a great explanation of the area when we got there and helped us arrange for our taxi to enter through the gate early in the morning to take us to the airport. The breakfast was great, very delicious and filling, the dinner was good and reasonably priced.
