It is secluded enough but accessible to all like Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park. It was a nice experience.

This was the perfect home to stay in for a quick reunion with family. Everything was very clean and there were cute helpful notes everywhere to help answer any questions we may have. We had a lot of bird visitors as well as a few deer. There is a long road that takes around 15 minutes to get you to the cabin, and you won't have great signal on the way. But that is what helped us feel secluded in nature and truly "disconnected" from our worries. Thank you for giving us a chance to make some memories here!

We just spent 4 days at Aspen cabin. I have to admit hat this house was the most equipped house we ever stayed. You don’t have to bring anything with you! Hot tub was a big hit for the evening relaxation. Kids loved when the cows where visiting each morning and wild turkeys too. We were hiking around but also it was pretty close to everything like Mt Rushmore, Crazy horse etc. We had really good time ! Thank you Donna for sharing your beautiful cabin!

Perfect home away from home!
We just spent 4 days at Aspen cabin. I have to admit hat this house was the most equipped house we ever stayed. You don’t have to bring anything with you! Hot tub was a big hit for the evening relaxation. Kids loved when the cows where visiting each morning and wild turkeys too. We were hiking around but also it was pretty close to everything like Mt Rushmore, Crazy horse etc. We had really good time ! Thank you Donna for sharing your beautiful cabin!

Couldn’t ask for better people to rent from…. Could text them at any time and they would get right back with you… very secluded…. Peaceful place to stay. The cabin was stocked with everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend this place to stay in.

I stayed here in summer of '21 with my family, children ages 7-9. The house was well described in the listing. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. The setting was great, and I really enjoyed the hot tub. Only downside is that there are several miles of gravel roads to reach the house.

This is a spacious and very well-appointed cabin. The availability of extra blankets, pillows, and towels was excellent, and the kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped - Donna and Ray have thought of everything! The location is wonderful, a very private oasis in a beautiful setting of pines and aspen. We will definitely come back if we can.

We even got to enjoy hiking the fire road trails nearby and see some beautiful trails and star-studded night time skies. We wished we could have brought our horses to ride up there! Thank you Ray and Donna for a most memorable, wonderful stay!

These owners thought of everything! from the games, videos, toiletries, towels to the last utensil, we had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home in this lovely place. We even got to enjoy hiking the fire road trails nearby and see some beautiful trails and star-studded night time skies. We wished we could have brought our horses to ride up there! Very clean and had everything we needed. Very peaceful location. We watched the deer every morning. Very quiet out there and beautiful scenery. Great location between Custer and Hill City but back off the highway a few miles for some quiet. You can see Crazy Horse before you get to the highway. Property just exactly as described. Thank you for a great place to stay!!

Great quiet escape!
This was a great house to host our extended family for a long weekend. The hot tub was a hit with everyone. Ray and Donna were very accommodating and appreciate the discussion and wood chips to accommodate smores even during a burn ban! The grill worked great, so no rules were broken!! The drive was a little long from the highway, but we used the kitchen to cook and hung out with little trips in and out of town. It was quiet and secluded. It was great! We would definitely stay again.

Our family of 11 had a great time at this property! There was enough room for us all to be comfortable. The location was perfect! It was off the beaten path with a beautiful scenic view. The owners were wonderful to work with . We highly recommend this to families visiting the area.

Awesome stay! Comfortable for family and friends. Lots of movies, games, and hot tub on deck relaxing. Everything as described. We were 5 older adults and comfortable. Internet good but no cell service for us. The owners very helpful and easily reached for hiking info. Thanks for a great stay!

A beautiful, very well appointed, comfortable cabin. They thought of everything. A little on the remote side, but we loved the quiet seclusion and watching the deer. The owners were extremely responsive. We’ll definitely want to stay here when we’re visiting the beautiful Black Hills area again.

Wonderful vacation!
This quiet mountain retreat was perfect for our family of 8. There was plenty of space and the hot tub was a hit! Watching a fast-moving thunderstorm roll in and then capturing the clear night sky with his camera was a highlight for our son. Although the property is a little drive off the main highway, the roads are well maintained and it is conveniently located if you want to spend time around Custer and the state park. Our grandsons enjoyed watching the deer and the wild raspberries growing right outside the door reminded my husband of his childhood! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aspen!

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful, off-the-beaten-track home
The cabin was exactly as described with everything we could have possibly needed. It has 4 queen bedrooms each decorated with its own theme.
Very spacious, clean, comfy living and dining areas, breakfast area and large covered porch with table and chairs.
The hot tub was available and looked inviting, even though we did not use it.
The only drawback was no internet service (we’re spoiled!). Also, this is clearly not included in the list of amenities and was a minor inconvenience.
It was a bit hard to find, the first time, but well worth the effort! Just make sure you have the directions before turning off the main highway. I was not thinking ahead about not being able to pull up the directions from the Home Away/VRBO sites in such a remote location. Thankfully my Mom was more on top if it and had screen shots of the turn-by-turn Google Maps directions before we lost service.
The owners were very responsive, friendly and helpful.
We were a party of 5 senior adults, and we would definitely stay here again!
P.S. There were lots of kids movies, games, bath toys, etc. it would definitely work well for young families with children as well.

We had a great time here! The cabin was well stocked. It had everything we needed to make all our meals & a comfortable stay. It is roomy & decorated nicely. We had 4 adults & 8 kids from 3-17 years old & had plenty of room. Thank you Ray & Donna, we would love to come back sometime!

What a great family cabin. It was decorated so cute and had all the amenities we needed to just show up with groceries and stay for a week. It was centrally located among the most popular SD site seeing places. The hot tob was very popular!
