This house was perfect for our daily kayaking trips to different Adirondack lakes and ponds. It had plenty of room for 7 adults; everyone was comfortable, the kitchen allowed us to make delicious meals, and the porch provide an ideal spot to plan our days in the morning and relax in the evenings. We had a couple small hiccups, and Alan was quick to help us out. He was great! We highly recommend this property.

My family came up for the Ironman Race. The house was wonderful and Alan was very responsive. We also rent our second home as a vacation home, and we really appreciate the attention to detail. The house was clean and had everything we needed. It was 1.4 miles from the Ironman course so my family could cheer me on. We would definitely rent again!

The house was set on a lovely spot that was secluded, yet close to Wilmington (not walkable, but we didn't expect that). It was also bigger inside than the outside led us to believe. Plenty of sleeping space, a ping pong table on the lower level, and a spacious porch with portions covered and uncovered which was great for reading, chatting, board games, meals.

We liked the cabin and it's location. Very relaxing area to be with family and friends.

The property is perfectly located for skiing at White Face and numerous snowshoeing trails. The cabin/house is great for a one or two families. We had a great vacation!

Lovely house on private lot convenient to “town” and Whiteface. House was clean and large with plenty of sleeping options and area for kids to claim as playroom. We would definitely book again for our next visit.

This home is clean, well equipped and convenient. The layout was perfect for our group (2 families) and communication with Alan was excellent. We would highly recommend and we look forward to staying here again in the future.

Do not hesitate to book ! The house is so cool. Nice views of the mountains. Calm area but close to everything. Beds are great. Living room very confortable and cosy. Kitchen well equiped. Perfectly located to visit adirondacks. Alan was very responsive and answered to all our questions. Glad we stayed there. It was a perfect holiday.

This is a lovely home/ cabin, with all great furnishings and amenities. The huge porches are wonderful. It's a prime location with awesome adventures in all directions. Owner was very responsive when we had an issue. Needed better direction w/ the flu. Highly recommend the place and would definitely return.

Just completed a week stay and it was very enjoyable. Clean well appointed and located in a quiet spot. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had all the things you need, and plenty of chairs to relax outside on the spacious deck or around the fire pit. The cabin is located just down the road from a good fly fishing spot with ample parking. Charcoal grill so plan accordingly. Again, a great place to stay and a very well run operation.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ausable Meadows. The location was very peaceful with a great wraparound porch to relax and enjoy the Adirondack air. Amongst beautiful wildflowers that my two daughters were thrilled about. The road is not heavily travelled and the open property surrounded by forest had a very nice breeze. Even though there was no air conditioning, each room had fans and there was a large ceiling fan that circulated the air very well. We never felt hot on a week in the middle of July. We really enjoy the family atmosphere of Wilmington for our Adirondack stays and this house was a perfect spot near everything. Definitely recommend it.

We loved staying here. We had two adults and two kids, and there were many sleeping options. The kids loved exploring the house and playing in the yard and on the porch. The house was easy to find, and is located very close to the town although the house itself feels very secluded. Would definitely stay here again!!

My family + another family (4 adults & 3 kids total) all fit very comfortably in this cabin. We cooked 2 meals and had plenty of room at the dining room to seat all of us. The 3 kids all slept in the loft upstairs and the adults split the main bedroom and the bedroom in the basement. There was plenty of room for another 3 kids at least. The location to Whiteface Mtn was great, only 4 miles away down the main road which took us about 10-12 minutes to drive. The town of Lake Placid is about a 30 minute drive from the house too and worth the trip. We are at 2 excellent restaurants Lisa G’s and Smoke Signals which we’re recommended too by some locals in the area we met skiing. We cooked 2 meals at home and had plenty of room at the dining room table for all 7 of us. It is a cozy home and the new ping pong table was a big hit as well. The 2 full baths were fine for all of us, and we had fun playing games in front of the fire. Overall, a great place to stay if visiting the area, and we’d go back again for sure. Alan was quick to answer any questions we had too. Thank you Alan!

Absolutely beautiful home and property with wonderful amenities. I was there with my family for a ski trip at Whiteface Mountain which is a very easy drive from the house. We all had a great time and I will rent the home again, the next time I visit. Alan was great to work with and made the process very easy.

We had a great time staying at you cabin. The location was perfect. Our son raced in the Lake Placid Ironman. We got to see him go by on his bike from the end of the road, then had time to drive around the north of the lake to see him transition to running, then later finish. We could not drive directly into Lake Placid on race day due to road closures on the bike and run routes, but from the cabin we were able to take another way. That worked out great. Its also very close to Whiteface Mountain, so we visited there too, climbed to the top. The cabin had everything we needed and was very clean. Instructions were clear on where things belonged and how to operate TV, etc. The beds and sofa were very comfortable. Water pressure was amazing, and it tasted really good. No need for bottled water here! Electic grill was kind of neat. The area was very quiet and peaceful. The path to the river is up the road a ways (maybe 1/2 mile) and then is really steep, so wear good footwear if you venture that way. As a heads up, if you want to use the kayak (which looks like it would be a lot of fun), you will need a means to transport it to somewhere to use it. The river was really low when we were there, so it is probably only good for kayaking in the spring, or after heavy rain. But there are lots of other places around to bring it to, lakes and ponds. Many hiking trails, things to do, and is really close to Lake Placid and Mirror Lake. Lots of good restaurants too. Also not too far from Lake Champlain in the other direction. We went out to Plattsburg on one rainy day, and found a nice little restaurant called the Naked Turtle at a marina. All in all a great vacation, and a great spot to have it. I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

We stayed here for a 4 day fishing weekend which is a yearly event for me and 7 relatives. The covered porch, table for 10 and big outdoor fire pit filled the bill perfectly. Allan was responsive and leaving us a bottle wine to enjoy really showed he enjoys people visiting and enjoying his wonderful property.

Our family just returned after a perfect week in Alan's cabin. The space is beautifully maintained and just minutes away from Whiteface and lots of hiking trails. Alan was a pleasure to work with and quickly responded to any questions. Our two young children loved the bunk beds and loft space. We loved the breakfast bar; large, open kitchen; full wrap-around porch; outdoor firepit; the list goes on. Thank you, Alan, for offering your wonderful home for our vacation. We cannot wait to spend another week in Wilmington!

Great place

What an absolutely beautiful cabin! This is the cleanest most well kept vacation property we have ever stayed in. Just a wonderful setting, close to the High Peaks, Whiteface, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Our stay was three days plus of non-stop fun and some well needed R&R. The fire pit was a nice way to wind down and relax after dark. The game room was handy for the afternoon when it rained. The four Deer we saw our first morning just added to the remote feeling. All in all, we had an excellent Fall getaway and will hopefully make it back here again in the near future.

Our stay at the Ausable Meadows was awesome, its located in a calm and serene place. We loved the home, its well equipped and easily accommodated our group. The owners have made everything available so that the stay is more than comfortable. The kids enjoyed playing in the loft and in the open yard. The wrap around porch is a bonus, it was amazing to experience the sunrise and sunsets while relaxing around the porch. Its very close to several hikes, nature trails and attractions like High Gorge Falls, Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid, Adirondack Mountains.

My family stayed here 3 nights this August. There were 5 of us and we all stayed comfortably at the cottage. It could easily accommodate more. The kitchen is big and plenty of space to cook. The living room features a beautiful stone fireplace (we didn't use because of summer). Wifi and TV worked perfectly. In the morning we sat out in the wrap around porch. It's about a 20 minute drive to Lake Placid so the cottage is well situated. Along the way the river is beautiful with plenty of sights including White Face mountain and High Falls Gorge just a short drive away. Recommended

My sister and I planned a last minute trip for our families in ADK to hike a high peak. I found Alan's place in Wilmington. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. There was a total of 7 of us and there was plenty of space and bedrooms. We ate meals in and there was enough of all kitchen supplies to make cooking easy. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the picnic table on the deck and a fire at the fire pit. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place, we can't wait to return.
