The Red Pheasant House is a short drive from downtown, yet in the quiet countryside of the Palouse.
We got to sit outside and enjoy our morning coffee. It was a natural beauty. True to its name we saw a pheasant. We also saw quail, ducks, and song birds.
The host obviously takes great care to make you feel welcome. It had everything we needed for our weekend visit.
I recommend anyone visiting Moscow to stay at the Red Pheasant House.

This is a beautiful place to stay in Moscow. The property grounds are lovely and wild pheasants quietly roam the hillsides; landscaping is beautiful. The owner is friendly and communicates check in and out instructions very well . Kitchen is well stocked and has an outdoor gas grill and sitting area with chairs. Located close to downtown and U of I campus.
This was my second time staying at the Red Pheasant House and I will definitely be back again.

The Red Pheasant exceeded our expectations. It is located on the edge of town and has a private and country setting feel. The accommodations themselves have been wonderfully updated, everything was well thought out with many nice touches added. Cleanliness was exceptional. The bedrooms are roomy, the kitchen has nice appliances and is well stocked with cookware and dishes. The owner has also added a number of nice touches to make your stay more enjoyable. There is a nice sitting area outside. We will definitely stay there again if we return to that area.

Really nice place. Beautiful design, with 2 comfy beds (one king and one queen). The kitchen has it all. Just bring the food, all the rest is there.

Red Pheasant House is tucked away on a hill, surrounded by trees. You feel like you are miles from anywhere, but it's only 2 miles to downtown Moscow. The house is quaint, comfortable, and well appointed. Melanie is a warm and welcoming host, who made sure I was all set before leaving me to enjoy the house and yard. She was accessible, so I knew I could reach out easily if I needed to do so. It was a great trip!

Nature surrounds you here. Hawks cry overhead, quail call from the fields, and pheasants toot in the early morning light. All the amenities you need for a restful break from the crowds.

Our family really enjoyed staying at Red Pheasant House last weekend for a WSU football game. You are out in the beautiful country side, but within a short drive of Moscow, which is a very charming city! Melanie was a wonderful host. You will find everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We highly recommend!

Wonderful weekend ...
Melanie has really thought of everything that a guest could possibly need. I don't think I have stayed in a cleaner rental ... the house is cozy and comfortable and the kitchen had all the cookware and utensils we needed to make our meals. We loved our time there!

A clean, comfortable, well-equipped, two-bedroom guesthouse, with great amenities and a bucolic setting in a semi-rural setting on outskirts of Moscow, Idaho. Host Melanie was responsive and helpful. A lovely place to stay. Two very minor suggestions: 1) Provide a coffee maker, or at least filters. 2) Provide instructions on using the TV for less-digitally-savvy people such as my buddy and I. Again, very minor; overall this was a wonderful place to stay.

Great stay just a few minutes from campus
We loved our stay. The place is very clean and well organized. The kitchen had all the supplies needed to cook a meal or make a cake. There were bonus amenities — like shampoo, body wash, coffee and tea. The owner was friendly and accommodating.

Tranquility!
This lovely property is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the university setting in Moscow. But still close enough to get to campus in about six minutes. We went for Parent's Weekend and had a lovely time. Our daughter requested a couple of meals and we were able to indulge her requests.
We originally chose this place for the comfort of my mother who unfortunately died in August. We will enjoyed it and knew that she would have loved it too.
We really appreciated the environmental friendly approach to this place and would stay there again!

This is a lovely, well-designed two-bedroom space where you can practically walk out the front door and into the rolling wheat fields. The treed property is a great refuge from the busy city.
