We had a great time. The house accommodated 11 of us very comfortably. Close to a brewery, great restaurants and the beach! Will definitely stay again.

Quiet location about 5 minutes from the heart of Cape Charles. There's a house directly across that's far enough to not feel intrusive, but close enough that a large group could walk back and forth, if desired. Large clearing other than the two homes. Plenty of seating, including a deck with a dining table and sectional sofa that weren't pictured, so that was a nice surprise. The owner communicated promptly, and check-in/out procedures were easy and reasonable. Would definitely recommend, especially for large groups (there was only two of us, so it felt a bit isolated...not the owner's fault)! Easy access to Cape Charles, CB Bridge, and other points. Can't beat it for the $; could see myself planning a large family gathering there in the future.

This home was spacious and so nice that my children and their wives/infant children had their own bedroom and bathroom. It was convenient to all of our wedding activities. We would rent it again!

We recently stayed here with a rather large group, for adults and eight kids. Pros: The house and setting are charming. Very comfortably fits 12 people Adequate furnishings for everyone Short drive to Cape Charles on one end and Kiptopeke State Park on the other. Owner was good to work with Cons: Not sure where the water comes from (probably well water) but it has a smell that is quite strong and isn’t great. You’re going to want to bring bottled water for your stay. House just needs some attention that is more than just surface level. There were lots of places where the walls are dirty and need to be cleaned or just repainted. Floors were swept but didn’t appeared to be mopped. And there were stains in places like the bathrooms. Some of the stains would require the whole sink/tub to be changed out but other things like the white shower curtain that is stained dark yellow on the bottom would be an easy and cheap fix. You are out on farmland so there were bugs that had made their way into the house. The good thing though is that they weren’t things like bed bugs, cockroaches, or mice. They were things like little beetles, wispy spiders, and such. They didn’t bother me or my husband but they bothered some of my kids.

Always a pleasure coming back to my hometown. Love the eastern shore. Love this vacation rental. Perfect for family gatherings. Will be back again.

This is s very spacious, clean house that sits on a farm, so is very quiet. Easy access to Cape Charles, Kiptopeke State Park and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Merle is great to deal with!

Close enough to Cape Charles yet secluded enough for relaxation. Lots of space indoors and out. Love the outdoor fireplace.

The check in process was awesome! The place was peaceful. The WiFi could have been better but in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your hospitality Merle! The location was great, very close to the beach, the fishing pier and local eateries. My husband and I enjoyed the beauty of your farm. We enjoyed the firepit very much. A couple things to improve for the next guests would be to spray down the grass for bugs, and freshen up the towels and shower curtains. Your farm kitty cats were adorable!! Thank you!😁

Very nice experience with this home. Great location. Perfect for our boat and a fishing experience. Outdoor fireplace was a great added touch. Would definitely rent again.

A group of friends were attending a wedding reception nearby. I reserved the house because of the location and great reviews. The reviews are correct. The house is lovely and convenient. We really enjoyed our stay. I would suggest changing the matchstick blinds in the bedrooms as they easily let in the light and don’t provide privacy. I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you

6 of us were staying for a golf tournament at bay creek. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Awesome place and price. Would definitely stay again!!!!

Owners very responsive and went out of their way/over the top to correct small issues. Nice location and relaxing country setting close to everything, but away from crowds.

Very spacious and clean. They had all the supplies we needed from toilet paper to towels utensils. The beds were comfortable. My husband was upset about having one TV but to be honest I'm glad they didn't have TVs in the other rooms because we all sat and watch TV together as a family. Very quiet area and even had a cute cat house next door. Did a fire pit in the back and it was very nice.

The house was perfect for our needs. We were there for a family wedding and it provided us with more than adequate gathering space before and after the formal events. It was so much better than staying in separate rooms in a hotel I wish we'd been able to take advantage of the outdoor facilities but it was winter and too cold to go outside. Lovely place - would definitely go there again.

So this was okay, dead bugs in every light ESPECIALLY THE KITCHEN, 3rd floor has stink bugs don’t open the left room window. I was not at the home as I was down the street at the store due to us being on a secluded island with anything other than the locals being 40 minutes to an hour. When I returned my friends and their friends were all terrified of the owners whom did not tell anyone that they actually stay in a TRAILER ON THE FRONT LAWN. However this was not a problem until they felt the need to confront our guest while we were away. Then when I tried talking to the owners trying to figure out what happened, they told me “the sheriff has been notified so be prepared to meet the sheriff department and have your documents ready” Again not saying they shouldn’t be upset but this tone was ridiculous. On top of that all the guest attested that the owners came over yelling and telling them “ yal boys better get back in that d*** house before I catch me one today!” Now I don’t know what that means you guys can decide for yourself. I am from PENNSYLVANIA. So we don’t condone this kind of business so on day 2 I shut it all down and we kindly cleaned up and left didn’t even bother to stay the night again. I don’t put my life at risk EVER! 4 days later I was contacted by Merle just for her to lie and tell me, “ the cleaning crew found graffiti in one of the bathrooms, how will you be paying or do you have insurance” just like that people No picture No talk around No identifying what bathroom as there are THREE But yet she wants money right so I told her we’ll send me a photo and I’ll take it to my legal counsel and we go from there. She proceeded to say I am waiting for the photos. I waited for HOURS, and even called Merle just to hear “ I am still waiting for the pictures” So three more days go by, mind you this is 5-6 days since the stay. Merle goes “the cleaning team tried plenty of products and couldn’t remove it, luckily they were able to remove it with a razor. No worries there isn’t any need for payment.” -__- right. Yeah. Okay. Anyway this was terrible and just another way to try and scare minorities in 2021. Are we all black? No Were some of us white? Yes So please don’t assume or jump to conclusions, racial indifferences are real and people carry themselves the worst way when they think no one is watching . Never again MERLE
