Classic Mountain Home With Two Living Areas, Incredible Views - WIFI

We were a group of 4 authors staying here for a weekend writing retreat. The space was exactly what we needed! The house was clean, stocked with appropriate basics, quiet, and had plenty of space for the four of us. The views were also beautiful!

The Lucky Bear is a well-stocked cabin in a great location. The family space and sleeping arrangements were great and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bathrooms and carpet could use a deep cleaning or replacement. All linens, except wash cloths were provided.

Great location on resort property close to the slopes!
Could have been a bit cleaner. Not sure when was last occupied but there were dusty surfaces, a few cobwebs, dust in bathroom vent fan, etc. Minor leak of rain through upstairs bathroom skylight. Only had one additional kitchen trash can liner. Other wastebaskets had no liners.
House was both big enough and cozy for two families. Teenage girls loved the built in bunk beds on lower level. Loved having the Christmas tree up! Snowed the morning we left; great view of snowy valley below.

Great location and tastefully furnished. Lots of beds for a family of 7. 10 people can stay easily. Pantry was stocked with lot of dishes. Did a night of Camp fire and a day of grilling with view of mountain from the patio. I would definitely stay again and thanks for being a super host

This property is an older home that is outdated. The home needs a deep cleaning. Also the pictures don’t show that there are many stairs to get up to the house.

Spring Break trip with teenagers and preteens to the waterpark. The cabin had gorgeous views, and everyone had their own space. The cabin was well stocked, more so than other short-term rentals. We loved our stay!

House was clean, was as advertised. Contact was awesome and very personal by owners. Highly recommend and would stay again.

House was dusty and kitchen table not wiped town. Towels had toothpaste and throw up on them. Sheets on one bed appeared to not be clean. The basement door knob was on the ground outside. Some of the blinds were broken.
That being said the house was perfect size for our family members. It was comfortable layout. The views and location where outstanding.

We spent a long weekend at Massanutten and enjoyed staying at this cabin. The cabin is up in the mountains with an amazing views. Be prepared to go up a lot of stairs to reach it. We had 2 families with little kids and the living room downstairs helped a lot with giving the adults some space. The cabin is in the smaller size, but has all you need.

This house accommodated my family and friends. Bunk beds room were great for the kids. It was definitely the highlight of the house for us. Stairs were a lot, but we survived it. Great workout to start our skiing/boarding adventure. Would definitely look into this house again.

This was a very relaxing place to stay for our family celebrating an early Christmas. There was plenty of space for everyone. The views were fantastic, and it was very convenient for some last minute shopping.

Framily Vacation!
We vacation with two other families, and when we saw the “Cubs Den,” we knew this was the place for us! The kids were absolutely thrilled to have a whole floor to themselves- and the adults were very happy to let them! We enjoyed the views, the deck and grill, and exploring Madsanutten. Everything about renting here was easy and convenient. I only wish we had stayed longer!

Great house for families!
We had 3 families stay in the house! The bunk bed/play room on the bottom floor is perfect for the kids to stay and play and the adults can relax on the main/middle floor. 2 bedrooms on the 3rd floor and one on the main. It’s a perfect layout for 3 families w 1 or 2 kids each. The beds are super comfy. The bottom floor is on the cool side - so grab an extra blanket….but a great sleeping cave. The top floor was a little warm so we cracked the window and that made it perfect. The middle floor is - just right. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Great Family Vacation
Absolutely beautiful house with an amazing view! Very clean with lots of little extras like high quality towles and sheets, plenty of blankets, games, movies and decorated so nicely for Christmas.
We will definately plan on returning!

Beautiful view
This place is great. Very comfortable. Not fancy. Could use a deep cleaning. Property manager did not answer phone (took me ages to fix the smoke alarm had to drive for a battery) and there’s someone rather large living inside the roof of the screen porch. Sounded more raccoon than mouse to me but I’m a city girl ha.

A Good Week Overall
It was wonderful to be together after a year and half of pandemic-induced separation, and we were thankful for the availability of the cottage after earlier plans had to be changed unexpectedly. We had lots of room in the house to spread out, so we could always choose between togetherness or privacy. The internet worked well, so one family member could work remotely but still visit and even take a couple of field trips. The location would be GREAT for skiing in the winter, but families planning a summer trip should be aware that there is almost no yard, and any kid activity (playground, etc.) requires driving. Down sides: My daughter was concerned enough about kitchen's appearance looked that she re-cleaned much of it before the rest of us arrived. (I got there later, so I'm just reporting what she said.) Also, the second key wasn't there (which we did not pursue with the host because we didn't actually need it). Some of the screens were torn around the edges when we got there, but the deck and screened-in porch were very nice. All in all, we were happy to be together, the house was comfortable, and we had a good time!

Home Needs a Good Cleaning
I rented the home for my family, who were traveling from out of state. They arrived @ home @ 10 pm & discovered the communication sent did not include the key code. They waited outside for 20 min. until owner responded with code. The lower level Cubs room did not have sheets on the bed, which was an issue for the children & their was no soap in any of the bathrooms.! Someone did bring sheets & soap the next morning. The house overall needs a good cleaning. The view & location are good, but the management company needs to get their act together and ensure the unit meets the specifications outlined in the house listing!

Water problem in the community of Cabins
The property is average and needs some maintenance.
While our stay, one day the tap ran dry and most of the people had to checkout without having bath. We had things planned on that day after check out and were delayed due to water issue. I tried to reach out to owner multiple times and it went to voice mail every time. Though he answered my earlier calls.

Nice long weekend
We met up with long distance friends for a family type vacation- 2 couples, 3 kids. This cabin is nice and well laid out but not so fancy that you worry about having the kids in there.
Grill was great, kitchen had everything, tons of linens and towels provided. We did have some issues figuring out the bathroom faucets but the owner responded immediately when we had a question.
I will say that there are 2 things not depicted in the listing that took me by surprise- there were 48 steps to get into the main level of the house. 48. We all got our cardio in this weekend. Lol. And also, just like with most mountain properties, parking is not plentiful. We had 3 cars and had to park them single file in the driveway. Neither of these things are a dealbreaker but I was just surprised by them.
All in all it was a great weekend- the cabin had tons of room so we were all comfortable and we’d definitely rent there again.

Sister Weekend
Rental process was flawless and seamless. Good contact and communication . Whenever I reached out , I received a prompt response. Excellent instructions which led us right up to the door. The property was was warm and welcoming. Stairs outside were steeper than we could have imagined. But we were told about them. Once in we were there for the entire time. Which did not at all dampen our spirits or hamper our plans.

Great getaway house
The location of the house was very good . House was very cozy especially the main level deck and the game room. The VCR touch was amazing and it brought back old memories.
The house was not super clean and could use some maintenance.
the drive way was not paved and caused issues backing out. We ended up hitting those while backing out causing the bumper to come off .
Overall We had a great time and would love to visit and explore the area again.

Great views/Poor conditions
The property has great views. Richard was available to answer questions. However the snow was not removed or treated on the driveway my teen men shoveled the drive to find out it was not a paved driveway. My truck got stuck and I damaged my back bumper on a rock at the end of the driveway. There are a lot of steps to enter the home, which was half treated. I purchased salt and ice melt and 2 shovels. I wish I would had known about the squirrels that ran across the roof (at least we hope they were on the roof). Beautiful home needs a lot of updating. To see the deers every morning was wonderful.

Was enjoy this vacation but a little bit disappointed.
We were enjoying at this house just a little bit disappointed with this property like the all the house doors are not locked just only the entrance door is looked. The driveway doesn't clean if put some lce mealt that would be easy for us to park. All the room upstairs are so hot. Overall we are really enjoy this I'm this property. And if you all this issue you can maintain we would love to go back again.
