While the house is very nice, it is definitely showing signs of wear and tear. For example, on our first night, the mechanism that auto opens and closes the door into the garage, which was hanging by a thread when we arrived, fell and crashed on the floor. The sofa in the main living room, which you can see from every angle, had not been cleaned under in sometime and was rather gross. There is a drawer in the kitchen that no longer stays closed that we actually wound up taping closed so that we would stop hitting our legs on it.
The pool area had broken equipment, toys and trash around that clearly had not been cleaned up in some time. One or two pieces of outdoor furniture were broken. And the dock is in need of replacing and seemed unsafe to use. And I don’t think the pool was cleaned before our arrival so by the end of our stay was rather dirty. The pool service came out on Saturday and the pool looked much better after.
When we arrived, the main AC seemed to be struggling and by checkout a week later didn’t seem to be working properly.
On two separate days, we noticed roaches in the kitchen.
While we had a great time with family, we certainly felt the house needs some TLC for the price.

Great house for long period stays. Close to alot of restaurants and beaches. Very spacious and accommodating. Would recommend to any of my friends or family.

This property was just incredible. The pictures truly do not do the house justice. The open kitchen and living area is huge and so airy, with tons of natural light. All bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. The backyard was just perfect and serene- pool is beautiful with a nice balance of shade and sunny spots. We could not grt my 3 year old out of the water, he had a blast
Great outdoor couch and table set. Grill was great. Was so nice to have beach chairs, flotation devices, etc at our finger tips.
There were only a few cons- the outdoor lounge chairs really need to be replaced. One was broken and they are uncomfortable. Also, some of the interior finishings have taken a little bit of a beating. For example, the cabinets are scuffed and a bit misaligned in one area. This did not impact our stay at all and we spent a lot of time in the kitchen as all the appliances worked great.
There were 7 of us, ranging in age from 7months to 72 years old, and we all loved this property so much. Highly recommend.

Marathon is very quite town for families. Took my wife and two teens for nice Spring Break. The location was perfect, the kids used the pool every day and the house even had bikes there. My daughter biked all over Key Colony Beach. Love Sombrero Beach just 4 miles away, it was not full until after 1pm. Get there early and we loved it.

Bright inside. Beautiful kitchen and large rooms. Heated pool, bikes, kayaks and beach chairs/towels available. Only downside for us - Could not fish outside on dock and pool was shaded. Property manager was great. Communication was fantastic. Definitely recommend!!

Breathtaking from the moment we walked through the door. Perfect location in a quiet neighborhood on the back of a canal and beautiful foliage surrounding the entire property made it feel like your own tropical oasis. The interior is beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice even as pretty as they are. The management company was so attentive and checked if we needed anything multiple times during the stay. We Cannot recommended this location enough and are already planning our next year trip here. Absolutely perfect.

You can go to key largo or key west or stay out and enjoy all that the middle keys have to offer. Outstanding house with great amenities. Wonderful management. Truly worth the stay. We may be back!

Key Colony was the perfect house and location for our family/ friends vacation. The house was tastefully decorated and offered all the amenities one would need for cooking as a group. Everything was clean and there was enough space for everyone to sleep.
A few things that could be improved on would be AC to the bunk room and master with tub. There was also a musty smell in the large master and soft wood floors by the slider. Our friends who have allergies had a hard time in there. They do have a dehumidifier on site to run.
Our boat is 27’ but the mangroves have overgrowth and need to be cut back a bit. I only recommend 21’ unless you’re ok with the brush in your boat or it’s trimmed up.
Other then that, our stay was very enjoyable and the location is PERFECT! We fished, dove and lobstered close by. Thanks again for the stay and we will return!!

Great Vacation!!
Property matched details on VRBO. Very clean and open kitchen area. Had a great time. Pool area very secluded and a nice way to end the day. We had total of 10 people and had plenty of room.

Broken Appliances:(
Beautiful property. Great location. Appliances need fixing for the price of this property to be worth it. After reading the previous reviews we assumed this would have been done. I’d ask before booking if they have addressed it. Not worth the price if the managers don’t address the issues.

Lovely, comfortable well stocked home
We had a family vacation with kids, adults and grandparents all in this one house. It was as advertised, comfortable and had a well stocked kitchen. We ran into a couple small issues with amenities but our local host was very responsive and made sure we had everything workings well for us to enjoy our stay.
The pool was big enough for kids to play and others to relax. Definitely needed it to be heated to enjoy it in late November.
The entertainment package was also great. We used the kayaks, which were easy to get to the dock.
Because the lot is at the end of the waterway, there was a lot of sea grass around the dock. Fishing was still possible from there, it just wasn’t as clear of a space as the other docks around us had.

Generally satisfied but issues with some appliances. Would have been helpful to have written instructions on how to operate the appliances and TVs. Pool was very nice but be sure to pay the up charge fo heating.

Fun in the sun!
House was good but not necessarily ready for our rental. Problems with stove, coffee maker and dishwasher. Drawers in refrigerator broken and not clean. Water damage on ceiling in a couple spots and master had an odor. Property wasn’t clean upon check in and had to leave so cleaners could get it ready.
Overall, it was a great location and rental agency was responsive. We loved the outdoor space-neighborhood and pool were fantastic!

Anniversary Trip
House and yard were beautiful, the master bath can't be beat. A few little things need to be fixed up, but I would recommend this property to anyone.

Nice quaint house
The house was beautiful although it needs maintenance services. The appliances didn’t work great, specifically the oven. The fridge has broken draws and trays. The garage door handle kept falling off. The towel and toilet paper racks are not sturdy in the bathrooms. The pool was really nice and loved the kayaks, paddle boards, and bikes for use.

A wonderful vacation!
We stayed at the property for 10 days and enjoyed the lobster season in the keys. The vacation was planned for he whole family and the entire family loved the house. We had plenty of space and the dock was perfect for our 21' boat. I had a few questions for our property manager Katie and she was quick to respond and very helpful. Overall a fantastic experience and a great vacation...

The house met and surpassed what we were expecting. It was super clean, stocked with what we needed and had plenty of space for all of us. The grounds and pool were impeccable. I would definitely stay here again!

Spacious house with a well-maintained pool and kitchen. We rented bikes/kayaks, and enjoyed exploring around the neighborhood. Easy check-in/check-out.

Great location and home
We loved the canal access in the back, the pool, the short walk to sunset beach, the whole Key Colony vibe, and the home itself. It was a great trip. Had everything we needed. Will put it on the list for another stay in the future.

Beautiful property, so much fun!
We felt this was a perfect property for our stay. We loved the layout of the house and the outdoor pool area was great. Everything was nicely maintained. The dock was a nice feature as well - a little tight to get in and out of with a 20 foot boat but we managed. Before leaving we booked another week later this year.

Great location
My wife and I were looking for a getaway to the Florida Keys and chose Marathon as our destination. We found the house in Key Colony and it work out quite well. If you enjoy walking, biking, fishing, a pool and privacy, this is the house for you!

Key Colony Beach Oasis
Beautiful house and very comfortable for a family of 10. Nice location in the Keys. The air conditioning was out for most of the house for the week we were there, but the managers of the property were very helpful to get portable air conditioners and fans which made it comfortable.

Not worth the money
The house is nice but definitely not the "exquisite" home (website description) we envisioned for the high price we paid; it definitely needs a spruce up especially on the outside some TLC is much needed. A number of things were broken upon arrival, the AC stopped working after 4 days (couldn't be repaired during our stay so we had to have window units in the bedrooms and the living area was like a sauna), and the worst thing was the towels and bed sheets had not been washed upon our arrival. The property manager was helpful in assisting us with the broken items but all of these issues, especially the dirty towels and sheets (during Covid and with a pregnant family member), made us very uneasy about the house.

I’m grateful for this time with my family for Labor Day Weekend Plus. It’s a very nice place. Great to be able to have our 20’ boat at the dock on the ready. Private pool. Nice rooms. Plenty of space for family. Bikes and kayaks were fun too. Thanks.

A wonderful week!
The house is wonderful. We had plenty of room and the pool was the best of all the years we’ve stayed in the keys. There was plenty of shade in the backyard due to the extensive landscaping and coupled with the waterfall feature kept the pool temperature down Which was wonderful. We have already booked for next years vacation!

Annual Family Vaca
We travel to FL every year- once or twice and each year our family seems to grow a little more. This place was great- location was perfect for us. Dock, pool, close to town, plenty of rooms/ bathrooms/ storage. It had a few upkeep needs (nothing major) and was a little pricey for what we normally spend but overall, I would highly recommend this property!

This property was very clean and well stocked with everything that you might need. The K-cups and laundry soap were both a unexpected touch. We added to the stock as a way to pay it forward for the next renter. We enjoyed our week on Key Colony.

Fabulous Oasis
We live in Florida and travel to the keys often. Our favorite keys are Marathon and Islamorada. This was our first time staying at this property and we will definitely be back! We brought our 23ft boat. If your boat is larger than 24ft, I wouldn't recommend this dock for you. Ocean access and bay access was ridiculously easy and the reefs were stunning.
The pool was large and wonderful and felt very secluded and private. You have everything you need (pool towels, bath towels, toiletries, well stocked kitchen, games, laundry detergent). The beds were very comfortable and the living space was very spacious. My only complaint is the hot water. We had a group of 7 and did run out of hot water fairly quickly when multiple people took showers but that's a small thing in comparison to the wonderful aspects of this vacation home. We LOVED it!

Great place to stay in the keys.
Beautiful house. Quiet neighborhood. We fit eight people and a baby comfortably. Great get away spot. Tons of stuff to do in the area. Sombrero Beach is 10 mins away. About hour from key west. Restaurants, boat rentals and other activities in the area. Natalie was very responsive and made booking very easy. We had a great time.
