Every aspect of the rental was perfect. Unfortunately, the adjacent neighbor down the street is inconsiderate and let their dog bark starting at 6:30 a.m. daily. Perhaps Jennifer can speak with her neighbor.

We had such a great time here! The location tends to be below the snow line, but getting to snow is a quick drive away. This location is surrounded by wineries and nature, and is very close to downtown Murphys with its cute shops.
We loved the house itself too. Very spacious for three people with comfortable beds and a cozy fireplace. Staying here was such a great experience!

My husband, daughter, father and I enjoy taking trips together. This was our second time in the Murphys area and the home was so cozy, clean and comfortable. Jennifer was a welcoming host and quick to communicate. It was close to downtown Murphys, a grocery store, and less than an hour from snow play areas. We would definitely return!

My wife and I had a great stay at Jennifer’s cabin to celebrate our first anniversary. The house was clean, well maintained, and very cozy! Communication from the host was great and the instructions were simple and easy to follow. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

Jennifer's place was perfect for our group of five (four adults and one kid). It is exactly like the photos. All of us enjoyed the den+kitchen+dining room area; the plant obsessed people in our group (me) couldn't stop looking at the succulent collection. My kid called the master bath the "fancy bath" and loved taking baths in the bathtub. The front garden was beautiful. The back deck was relaxed and restful. We went in late July. Lots of shade from the trees.
Jennifer was an amazing host. Great communication from the very start. She suggested several activities in the area, like Columbia State Historic Park and Astronomy Night at Calaveras Big Trees Park. She quickly responded to a question about where to get a floatie (it was really important at the time). And when there was an unexpected power outage for all of Murphys and part of Angels Camp, she was in touch with us with information on battery powered lamps (already setup in the den and living room), portable lights, and current PGE information.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was cute and clean. The back deck and property was amazing. So relaxing to sit and watch the wildlife. Host very attentive.

This is a charming home in Murphy's, it has a lovely back deck and creek running through the backyard area. We also appreciated the quiet and not having neighbors too close, plus a winery down the street. The host has thought of everything. My kiddos enjoyed it too, my daughter called the den the "secret living room" :)

We rented this house for a few days and enjoyed driving up to Bear Valley from it.
It is a great location with all the amenities you need and the place was really nice. And it was only a short 50 min drive up to the snow in Bear Valley.
I really recommend it :)

Comfortable and Quiet
We were looking for a place from which to enjoy the beauty of the Sierra. Jennifer's home was comfortable, in a quiet neighborhood and just right for my sister and me. There was plenty of room for relaxing and the home was stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed dinners on the deck which is very private. We went up the mountain to Alpine Lake which was very mellow and pretty and to walk among the giant sequoia at the Calaveras Big Trees.
We really enjoyed our time in this home.

A Murphys Must
Great place and great location. Very close to Main Street. Amenities are nice. Back deck is huge. Indian Rock winery is walking distance and, in our opinion, was the best tasting wine we came across. Definitely recommend.

Stay at Murphys Getaway
We came to Murphys to celebrate my parents' life. They had lived in the area more than 30 years before they passed away a little over a year ago. The home accommodated four guests very nicely. We especially liked the back deck, where we sat and visited in the sun. This is a very comfortable home. I'm glad we stayed here, and we'll be sure to return if we are ever back in the area.

This place went above and beyond our expectations. So beautiful and so cozy! Also, the host was super accommodating when we asked to add an extra night. We will definitely plan on coming back to this area and if we’re lucky- this amazing home!

Perfect Location
This lovely home was located in a nice quiet area and about a mile away from the lively downtown main street. Highly recommend this place if you are looking to relax in the mornings and evenings and wine taste during the day!

An amazing stay in Murphys CA wine country
My wife and I had our first getaway with our family since the start of the pandemic. This beautiful home was well furnished, fully stocked with essentials and very clean. It is beautifully decorated with nice art and decorator touches and very nice furniture. The deck is beautiful and provides a great setting to BBQ and relax with a nice local wine. The home is centrally located very near historic downtown Murphys, great wineries like Indian Rock and not far from other wineries and historic Gold Rush towns like James Town and the Columbia State Historic park. We could not have picked a nicer home or a better location. My family and I will definitely be booking another stay here in the near future.

We had a great time at Murphy while driving to Bear Valley daily for skiing. The house is located at a very convenient location for shopping and food. The house had everything we need, and very nicely decorated and comfortable. We enjoyed the backyard as well.

Quite stay & Lovely Surroundings
I love the location. Loved the kitchen it was different. Quite. King size bed and the bathroom was very updated. Could use better sheets and that is really only suggestion I have. Very enjoyable for us because we needed a get away from the everyday things at home.

Peaceful gat away in the time of COVID-19 and bad air quality
The location was serene and it was wonderful to watch the deer family and the chickens that visited the backyard everyday. The kitchen was perfect and the television was ideal for watching the Tour de France

This house was perfect for three nights with friends. Very quiet neighborhood and a quick drive in to Murphy's for wine tasting, dining, etc. The house was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. I would recommend!

Very Satisfied With Our Stay
This place is as good as everyone says! It was perfect for the two of us!! And its layout would be very accomodating for two couples. There were houses on each side of the unit, but the way the house is situated you have almost total privacy in the house and outside on the patio. House is shaded for most of the day so we only used the AC in the evening (it works well). We used it as our home base for hiking in the area (Arnold Rim Trail) and further up in the Sierras (Spicer Meadow & Lake Alpine). Regarding the Coronavirus situation in the area..... For the most part - everyone was attempting social distancing (lots of outdoor, well spaced eating establishments) and wearing face masks in all stores... We never felt uncomfortable - and we are a bit phoebic :-) In closing, Jennifer was the best host we have worked with at any of the VRBO we have rented!! Constant and quick contact when needed!! Her recommendations are truly from someone who knows the area.

Peace and Quiet
The house was in a great location for getting around to all the little foothill towns. We went to Murphys and walked around and went to the Father's Day Fly-In in Columbia. It was hot out and very nice to come back to the cool air-conditioned house. The view from the back of the house is amazing. We didn't see any deer, but saw plenty of squirrels and caught a glimpse of what we think was a fox. A wonderful stay!

So relaxing!
The backyard deck is where we spent most of our time. It was so nice to look at the yard and not see the neighbors. Living in a crowded city it is nice to have that option. The house is nice and comfortable with plenty of room.

Great Girls' Trip
The place was gorgeous and the quiet, relaxing environment was so enjoyable. Seeing deer walking by the windows was great! The only problem I encountered was the main bathroom faucet which needs to be repaired. It shot water all over my face.

Beautiful House in the Woods
We have done many home away stays and Murphy’s Getaway was one of our absolute favourites. The house is lovely and has everything you could want for an extended stay. The large back deck backs onto the forest and it was beautiful enough to sit out while we were there. The bed was comfy. We didn’t have any issues with things not working. Plenty of room. Two lovely comfy sitting rooms with great TVs. The owner had left some great information for things to see and do and places to eat. We hit on many of them and were not disappointed. We were lucky enough to be there during the annual “Grape Stomp” and had a wonderful fun day there. We walked into Murphy’s on two occasions - a half hour walk or so. We did a 10 minute walk to the nearest vineyard and had free samples as guests of Murphys Getaway. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys nature’s beauty and friendly people. We are from eastern Canada, so it is a long trip; but we would love to return someday.
