Me and my friends wanted a place to stay to get away from VMI for the weekend after the Midwinter Formal dance. It was a very nice place, couldn't have asked for better given the great price.

Adorable cottage, perfect location!

This is our second stay at this property during an event our daughter was exhibiting in taking place at the horse center. We appreciated the ease of check/in out and that we had a clean, quiet place to call "home" during a hectic weekend.

We stayed here for a dressage show at the Virginia Horse Center. The house is moments from the center, thoughtfully decorated, immaculately clean, and very comfortable. The front porch overlooks the cross country course. The kitchen is well equipped and the closets have DOZENS of towels. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, and the owners are communicative and helpful. Can't wait to stay again.

This quaint cottage is very close to the Virginia Equestrian Center. What a great place to relax after a horse show!

We rented both this house and owner’s second house next door for my daughter’s graduation. Both houses were wonderful, with everything you could possibly want or need. Cozy, charming, and the best front porches to sit on with dreamy views of the rolling hills of Virginia. Highly recommend

Our son was graduating from VMI and we had family all coming down from NJ. This house was perfect! Super clean, front porch was a morning coffee haven! If you’re in the area make this your first pick!

We came to Lexington, Virginia to tour Washington and Lee with our eldest son. Carol’s cottage was perfect for family. The one improvement I would make is a larger, more comfortable bed for the parents. We thoroughly enjoyed the front porch.

Safe location and just a hop and a skip to the Horse Center. Only wish the beds were more comfortable.

We had a lovely time in the cottage. It was parents' weekend at Washington & Lee and the cottage allowed us the opportunity to spend some quality time and meals with our daughter, who is a first year student. Very convenient to campus and the town of Lexington.

Our stay was very nice and cozy. The property is beautiful and everything was exceptionally clean and neat. Beautifully decorated.

The cottage was midway between Tennessee and maryland - a great meeting place for me and my sister-in-law !!! We were able to explore the local shops and small towns and enjoy a casual setting in the evenings. We’d meet at the cottage again!!

We have stayed here several times now when we attend events at the Virginia horse center. The location is amazing, the hosts are always very helpful and friendly

Wonderful stay!

Our group was so happy with the quaint country cottage. We expanded the kitchen table and grilled a delicious dinner. The water pressure was great and a fully stocked linen closet with towels and wash clothes! The location was a nine iron from the adorable Lexington, e enjoyed this cottage very much and hopefully will have an excuse to come to Lexington again!

What a beautiful setting! The property was just the right size. Home away from home! I would certainly want to stay here again if travels take me in that direction again.

We stayed here for our daughter's senior meet at W&L. The booking process was wonderful, and the house was as advertised. The location was great, and Carol and Bernie were fabulous hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property! So convenient for a weekend competition at the Horse Center. Had everything we needed and the owners were so nice to work with!

I'll remember for a long time reading Carolyn Forche's poetry on the front porch with bluebirds playing about the shrubbery across the road, a hummer darting through, and sparrows picking at the doormat, with a great view of the mountains in the distance. The cottage grounds are handsome and the house is charmingly appointed, with knicknacks and books in the shelves, a piano, and even caned dining chairs. .Two disadvantages for the older person who's likely to sleep downstairs: the bed could use a pillow top and a larger bedside table, and both the downstairs shower and the upstairs tub need safety bars! The shower is very small--I solve the problem in mine with a sturdy bath chair and a handheld showerhead. Otherwise Carol's Cottage is ideal..

This house was perfect for our weekend stay. We were able to comfortably prepare home cooked meals for out VMI Rat and provide a great spot for him to relax while off post. It was close and convenient to everything. The communication with the owners was awesome.
