Beautiful retreat in the woods with clean open layout, plenty of space for our family, whimsical loft and charming hot tub area. No complaints.

We would absolutely stay at this property again and recommend it to our friends. It is a great location for visiting the redwoods. It is very quiet and completely surrounded by lush, beautiful trees. A few deer visited occasionally.

This was a very nice place to stay. Clean, quiet and private. The setting makes you feel like you are far away from everything, but Arcata and Mckinleyville are both less than 10 min from the cabin. Will definitely try to get this cabin the next time we visit Humboldt.

This was very relaxing and quiet. Beautiful!
Just like it was advertised. We would definitely come back again if we were in the area.

It has the essentials for a great stay.

We stayed in the upstairs chalet and it was great. It is secluded, has a beautiful view of the woods and the place was immaculate inside and out. The hot tub is set back in the trees and was great in the early morning and incredible at night. I messaged one question to our host during our stay and got an immediate response from him. The chalet is a quick and easy drive to the Arcata Plaza and Cal Poly Humboldt, but is super quiet and feels like you are far off the beaten path. We would love to stay here again.

This chalet was absolutely adorable! It had everything we needed to be comfortable. We would stay here again!

We stayed on the top floor. It was adequate accommodations but when I got there the wifi password was not correct. I called the guy and left a VM but he never got back with me. We finally asked the nice people downstairs what the password was and they gave it to us. It was NOTHING close to what was in the book. There were only 4 towels for 4 people for 4 nights and with a hot tub, it would have been nice to have had options (especially with no washer or dryer.). The hot tub made our bathing suits really, really stink even after a washing. I was not impressed.

If you enjoy being surrounded by trees this is the place. Beautiful and clean house. Road is a little tricky by if your follow the directions sent by the owner you would be just fine.

We stayed for a few days and spent time throughout the Redwoods. It was the perfect location to see the Avenue of the Giants and the next day travel to Crescent City. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was a great extra too. We had a wonderful trip and highly recommend staying here!

The house was a welcoming and cozy place to stay close to the redwoods that was a great jumping off place for exploring. The house was clean and perfect for a family of 3.

Stayed in the upper level of the Redwood Retreat for 4 nights withy family as a home base while exploring the coast and the redwoods parks to the north. Great location -felt very remote but easy access to town. Loved the hot tub in the woods. Overall comfortable stay with adequately stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and a large dining/game playing table.

One of the best locations I've rented

The property was very clean and cozy. It also provided the BBQ place and a hot tub, right in the midst of the Redwood forest. My family enjoyed our stay here greatly, and we will definitely return. Highly recommend!

The house had everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed the hot tub too!

This property was beautifully hidden away. Easy access to highways. Amazing location. Definitely a Redwood experience to have, with the added hidden amongst the trees hot tub. So relaxing and calming. Had great communication with owner, and enjoyed the property a great deal.

We enjoyed the beautiful handcrafted home and property. High ceiling and big windows let in wonderful light. Beds were nice. The jacuzzi was delightful and situated amongst the trees a short walk from our door; very private. Badminton was fun for children and adults. We’ll be back!

This place was pretty dumpy inside. No communication had us standing outside unable to get in for 45 minutes. Had to buy several basic cooking utensils. Pictures in the ad showed we rented the entire place, but then other renters showed up. No curtains or AC so the house was super hot from 2 to 6pm. Furniture was a joke, so lumpy and falling apart and uncomfortable. The house was cool and the area was great but it is obvious the renter is only concerned with collecting their monies and could care less about your comfort.

Secluded wooded home with hot tub
This rental worked out very well for my husband and I. We very much enjoyed the seclusion. While the hot tub is not especially fancy, it is very peaceful and situated in the woods. There is a system where you can block out times for you to use it privately. I used it every day without running into anyone at all or needing to reserve it. We enjoyed many activities from that location.… Hiking, tide pooling, kayaking. Our best tide pooling was at Patrick’s point. We were delighted to see elephant seals at Vista Point me to go me and beach combing there. We hiked Trillium Falls Trail and the Lady Bird Johnson Grove. We enjoyed the farmers market on Saturday morning in Arcata. We stayed a week and would recommend this stay.

Graduation
We had a great time! Sleeping was great, beds comfortable and so quiet. We saw deer in the front yard, which was fun. Close to everything. Would rent again if we get back up to Arcata. Highly recommend. Be sure and call Lisa she a great massage therapist. My husband went to her 11/2 he massage and he said it was great.

Nice secluded home in the forest
The home is nicely situated in the forest. We were in the top unit with two bedrooms and a loft. There is a second rental on the bottom floor as stated in the rental description. We enjoyed the hot tub and watching a visit from a red fox early one morning.

Great place to stay near redwood national park!
Place is clean, accessible and secluded. Host is very responsive to questions, which was great.
Has a badminton court in the front yard, which kids loved!
As noted in the website, this place has two units. One upstairs and one downstairs.
If you have kids traveling with you, don't take the upstairs option. When kids run around in the top unit, it makes a lot of noise downstairs. People who were below us waited till 10pm on the first day to tell us they were getting disturbed. We felt sorry for having spoilt a day of their vacation. From second day onwards, it was stressful to keep the kids from running around. So avoid the top unit, if you have kids.
Overall a great place to stay!

Very Remote, Great Stay
If you want a quiet trip in a wooded area, this is your place. We felt very relaxed in the woods. Be careful that the drive to the property involves a pretty steep uphill, but its well worth it once you are in the place.

Charming Cabin Surrounded by Trees
This was a charming place to stay while on a small family vacation to the Redwood Forest. Our kids loved sleeping in the loft and exploring in the trees outside, they even found two banana slugs on the forest floor! The cabin was well kept and cozy. The hot tub was in a small clearing in the trees and was magical. The whole stay was wonderful.
Located between Humboldt Redwood Forest/Avenue of the Giants to the south and Redwood National Forest to the north. (30-45 minutes to either location.) Also close to several beaches and ocean views.
A charming place to stay.

In the woods
This property is totally "in the woods". It is truly a getaway. No neighborhood here! Tons of windows to view the property all around.

Great cabin
We took the family on vacation to see the redwoods and really enjoyed our week stay. Description of the property was very accurate. The kitchen was well stocked with any kitchen supplies that you would. Great location; secluded but close enough to town if you need anything.

Good stay, lots of rules
This place is in a great location, beautiful scenery. No issues really getting it booked and getting there. Took me a few days to read all the rules and some of them seemed excessive (ex there is a charge if you don’t properly split trash and recyclables). The furniture was older, not super comfortable. We honestly weren’t there that much and just needed to sleep so it served it’s purpose but if I had kids with me I feel like this place would have been challenging.

Weekend getaway
We had a great time during our stay. There was much to do and explore around the property or just relax in the chalet. The owner Jeffery was so nice and welcoming. The chalet was clean and well maintained, a beautiful place to stay!

One of my most comfortable VRBO stays ever
This place is amazing! Spacious, comfortable, clean, and a great location. The host was easily reachable for questions, although we had everything we needed there. Just make sure that you accommodate having one bathroom! The hot tub and other outdoor activities were a nice bonus.

Nice cabin in the woods
We liked the cabin, it was attractive and clean, fairly well-supplied and in a very quiet location. There was just one bathroom and shower for four adults, but it didn’t become an issue. You need to bring your own shampoo, etc for the shower, and the napkins and paper towels we had brought were handy. The bed I slept in was very comfortable, but the duvet was comically small

Perfect half way point
This place is located 5 minutes from Hwy 101. To the north is Patrick’s point and Fern Canyon. To the south on 101 are the giant Redwoods. The house itself is clean and very nice. We had a great time and plan on going back.

Beautiful location
This was great for our family of 7. The hot tub was heavenly and the views majestic! We were central to all the places we wanted to visit and really enjoyed our stay!
The only thing that would make it better would be a washer and dryer.
