We had a wonderful, relaxing family holiday. The property was beautifully kept, clean and organized. The owner and his staff are amazing and extremely helpful and kind. They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and fun. We could contact them anytime and they helped is immediately. The location of the villa is private and secluded and has the most incredible ocean view.

We were a group of 8 (4 couples) who absolutely loved our stay. The villa was incredible with a beautiful view. It felt very secluded, quiet, and private with an amazing beach. Petra, the hills concierge, was so responsive and helped us plan the entire trip. She helped me book private chefs (highly recommended!), a catamaran trip, in villa massages, fishing trip, and surfing lessons. I cannot wait to return some day! We have zero complaints. Our stay was incredible.

The first thing you notice is the breath taking view once entering. It was out of a magazine. The kitchen is relatively well stocked with appliances and dishware and all rooms had working AC. The pool was a perfect temperature to relax and there is so much lounge space for a bonfire and playing frisbee, etc. We also enjoyed the walks on the beach. While the beach right in front is not easy to enter, a short 5-10 min walk north or south will allow you to enter and swim in the ocean. The sunsets were gorgeous and Petra is a rockstar!! She was extremely helpful arranging dinners, massages and our catamaran. We can't thank her enough.

Our family trip to Costa Rica was the first of many. This county is full of adventure and smiles. Petra, the on site concierge assisted us before and during the trip with every need we had. Her activities recommendations and team were impeccable. We had an 18 month old with us and she made sure he had everything needed for his first trip abroad. The villa and environs were beautiful. Play Junqillal was so quiet, you could look the length of the beach and rarely see people. Playa Blanca had a few costa rican beach goers during the weekend.
Petra the concierge was so attentive and helpful before and during our stay. She's just across the street.
Most of the bedrooms are detatched from one another making them very private there were two at least that were adjoining with a door which was great for our family with early grade school aged kids. One complaint from some was that the bathrooms attached to each bedroom were not completely enclosed, so had an outside feel. I thought it was beautiful. For others it was the only complaint about the place.

The concierge - Petra - was awesome! We were in communication months before our visit and almost daily while we were there. Anything we asked, she provided.
We used Chef Laura for a few meals and her food preparation and presentation was outstanding.
Grounds well-kept and maintained including daily maid services. By far, the most awesome place we have ever stayed.

The absolutely beautiful setting was the best! We spent all of our time on the beach below the property or in the pool. The welcome dinner by Chef Gerritt was amazing. This was truly the best vacation that our family has had! And Petra, the property manager, was very responsive.

Gorgeous Property and Wonderful Experience!
Wow- this was such an incredible experience! Breathtaking views and direct access to beach was incredible. The grounds are impeccable, everything was in working order, and the pictures do not do this property justice! Petra was an incredible asset; so responsive and kind for everything that we wanted or needed. We did not want to leave! So thankful for the time we did have at this oasis. 5/5 would absolutely recommend :)

Perfect in every way:)
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Diosa Del Mar. the property is just breathtaking. We arrived right when the sun was setting and it just set the tone for the rest of our stay. Petra goes above and beyond. Anything you need, she is there. We have a new friend for life. Chef Laura was incredible. The house is perfect for multiple families. There are individual casitas surrounding the pool and beautiful yard. Great for kids. Lots to keep them busy; between the pool, huge yard to explore and play and of course, easy access to the beach. We will come back again and again. Thank you so much for making our trip so magical.

This is the place... don’t look any further. Unbelievable property and views
My family of 7 stayed at Villa Diosa Del Mar for a week and it is by far the best vacation we have ever had as a family. Petra was able to organize everything prior to our arrival so our vacation started immediately upon arrival.
The Villa has one of the prettiest views imaginable. High up with a view of the pacific. Sitting on the porch or in one of the hammocks, you can enjoy the ocean breeze and take in the gardens and palm trees. Every room feels like it can be the best room. The beds are very comfortable.
When we arrived, Petra had already done most of our grocery shopping for the week as well as arranged a private chef team - Garrett and Marcella, who made us a wonderful Gourmet dinner using fresh local ingredients as well as breakfast the next morning. (Highly recommend the welcome package). She also had arranged a few excursions for our family. We did a 1/2 day fishing trip and caught enough fresh fish for the week. When we got back to shore, the restaurant close by prepared some of the fish for dinner with some other local sides. Another day we chartered a private boat and went snorkeling and were able to swim with a sea turtle!
We spent a few days just hanging around the beach at the Villa and another few days a few minute drive up the beach at Lola’s restaurant where you can rent surfboard, chairs and umbrellas as well as take surfing lessons. Lola’s is a great option for lunch on the beach. It has a great atmosphere.
I would also recommend having Petra organize a Shuttle from the Liberia airport as well as a rental car during your stay. It is all there waiting for you when you get there.

A week in paradise!
This was our second trip to Costa Rica. We decided to check out a different part of the country this time. Eight adults (family). Everyone had a perfect, wonderful time. The house is beautiful and extremely comfortable. I can’t say enough about Petra and the rest of the staff. They are just excellent. If you choose to stay in this home for your vacation, you will not be disappointed in any way. Just happy, every time you wake up and every minute of the day and evening. Don’t miss out on the privilege of having Sibyl prepare a meal for you. We had her prepare dinner on our last night. Delicious and beautiful display. We take a nice vacation together each year (our family) and have visited many lovely places. This is the first time in all of my vacations that we loved it so much, we want to return to this area, the wonderful people and this beautiful home!

A perfect, relaxing, beautiful place you won't want to leave!
If you are looking for jaw-dropping beauty in your own private paradise, this is the place. From the moment the concierge Petra opened the front door, with a knowing grin at what our reaction would be upon seeing the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, our group of 7 was swept into a magical week that was over too soon. This villa has it all: unsurpassed ocean views from almost every spot, private stairs leading to your own ocean and beach access, infinity-edge pool, nicely-equipped kitchen, quiet, solitude, plenty of space for everyone. Each of us immediately felt a calm and relaxation missing from our busy lives in the U.S., which lasted all week, thanks to the care taken by Petra and the staff of housekeepers and gardener. Here is a sample of how Petra made this visit perfect: she arranged airport transfers, rental car and grocery delivery, welcome dinner, yoga, massages, and excursions before we arrived; she made a special trip to let us know that a baby turtle release was about to happen; she told us when the German baker and fish monger were going to be on the street, so we had fresh fish and German pastries for Christmas. She was always just a text away, if there was anything we needed.
There were a few questions that I had from the property photos and description: There are about 40 steps from the edge of the property that lead to a black lava beach, where you can explore tide pools. To the left, it's about a 10 minute walk to a sandy beach that has fun waves and is great for swimming. To the right, it's a 5 minute walk to another sandy beach that is better for soaking and snorkeling. The entire area is secluded--there are fisherman, and very few other people. The bedrooms are in three separate pavilions, each with its own outdoor access. The shower in each bedroom is indoor/outdoor, which adds to the magic. The property is a short drive from the little town, and about a 45-minute drive from Tamarindo, which is a busy tourist hub, with grocery stores, water sports, and night life (which we avoided). If you want flexibility, rent a car, but you can get by without one because Petra can arrange transportation to pretty much everywhere. It's lovely to have one of the cooks make dinner, but it's also fun to use the grill or the kitchen to make use of local, fresh ingredients.
The villa is more beautiful and spacious than in the photos. I can't say enough, and we can't wait to return.

Breathtaking Property
I cannot say enough about this lovely property. We spent two weeks here with our two teenage children and both sets of grandparents on Spring Break. The Villa is beautiful and the grounds breathtaking. The pictures do not do this property justice. Valerie was a pleasure to deal with and the concierge, Petra, was absolutely wonderful. She took care of everything from arranging to have us picked up and dropped off at the airport to booking our rental cars (a must!). She booked all of our excursions and was there at our beck and call whenever we needed her. Laura and Roger took very good care of us as well. We had a lovely goodbye dinner cooked by Sybil (don’t wait for the last night to do this!). I wish we had done more dinners like this. Was most definitely worth it. I hope to return someday and highly recommend this property. You won’t be disappointed.

Simply the Best..
This trip met all of our expectations for myself and the rest of the guests. The accommodations and daily staff, from the house keepers and pool service to the ever present but very much in the background, Petra was everything I had hoped for and more. Petra consistently provided results to anything we wanted. Restaurants including reservations, zip lining, sailing and deep sea fishing. The house itself is fully equipped, each bedroom having its own bathroom, the main living area is outdoors but well covered. We were able to hook up our laptop to the TV and watch the Minnesota Wild 2 playoff games while we were there. I would recommend this place to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

A slice of heaven!
This was my first trip to Costa Rica. As customary on our family trips we got lost on the way... from Liberia Airport to Villa Diosa del mar. Petra, the patient, warm and inviting concierge, drove a half hour to meet us to guide us to the property. GPS is a must, particularly when traveling unmarked dirt roads! Lesson learned! We arrived in the dark so we couldn't see or appreciate the full scope of the property. We woke up to a slice of heaven. It's hard to put into the words the beauty of this gem of a home and surrounding land. The attention to architectural detail, landscaping, lighting, infinity pool, furniture and art were phenomenal. Nothing was left undone. Beautiful to look at and ultra-functional for our family of eight including seven adults and a 15-year old. The property offers ample space for everyone to find their spot, and the individual casita-type rooms provide privacy and comfort. The bedrooms, all with king-size beds are air-conditioned providing a respite from the humidity and "interesting" bugs. My only suggestion to the homeowners would be to air condition the kitchen area, which would make evening dinners more comfortable and allow family members to linger longer versus rushing off to the cool comfort of the bedrooms. Petra was a godsend! She appeared within minutes whenever we called her with questions or for recommendations regarding activities or dinner reservations. She was accommodating and appropriate. Btw, upon arrival the fridge and kitchen were stocked with the grocery list we had provided her via email. She was a pleasure to communicate with prior to our trip and lovely to deal with in person. The same goes for the rest of her team including the affable housekeeper, Lara, who went out of her way to take good care of us including cooking delicious breakfasts and dinner. Big tears from me when it was time to say goodbye to heaven on earth. No doubt we will return to Villa Diosa del mar again someday. Until then... thank you for showing us the pure life! Pura vida!!

Amazing Place!
This was our second trip to Costa Rica. Our previous trip was not one of our favorites as the accommodations were not what we were told they would be.
Thankfully our fears were quickly alleviated when we walked into the front door of this property. We were immediately captivated and remained so until the moment we had to leave.
The home has everything anyone could ask for and is exactly as presented. The owner and the staff were there for whatever we needed and the Concierge Petra was on property in seconds whenever we needed her. I could not ask for a better response from anyone.
The layout of the property is great for larger parties as you can choose to be together in any of the common areas or if you want some privacy it is only steps away. The house is obviously very well maintained and updated as is the property around it. You will not find a better sunset anywhere!!!
I would consider myself extremely picky when it comes to accommodations and I would rate this as one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. I am not a fan of large resorts but I do like all of the amenities they offer (minus the people) .
I highly recommend this property (Just not when we want to be there! :)

An amazing time!
This villa is absolutely to die for. The concierge (Claire) was a sweetheart and very helpful, recommending the best activities with people who she knows personally and trusts, making our experience comfortable and enjoyable! We woke up to monkeys right above our room, iguanas basking in the sun, and colorful birds chirping by our window and above the infinity pool. I was speechless and felt as though the best of costa rica was right in my back yard. The beach behind the villa had clear blue water and the view was phenomenal in the morning and in the evening. I booked with luxury retreats, who's team was very hospitable during their short visits every morning to clean the pool, cook, and tidy up the house. Although speaking spanish is ideal, everyone I encountered spoke english and was very kind. Out of all the things I was grateful for, frm the view, to the hospitality, the food, and fun activities, the directions I was given before my arrival to Costa Rica was SO HELPFUL when we drove our rental car from the airport to the villa.. I didn't even get lost on the dirt roads in this foreign tropical country and the GPS nor wifi didn't even work! It was amazing how thorough my concierge was with her directions with every recommended spot to visit. I recommend this home for big families, or couples, groups of friends, whether you want to explore the best of costa rica or stay on the property all day-- its like your own resort. Love!

Villa Diosa del Mar-"A piece of Heaven" in Playa Junquillal!
My dream to find the perfect getaway in Guanacaste, Costa Rica began almost 6months before I finally arrived on January 4, 2015. The coordination of the details and finalizing plans for myself and some special friends took months, but the owner guided me through the process from the beginning to end, expertly and efficiently. I was searching for a uniquely beautiful location and accommodations, privacy, nature, quality amenities, access to available comforts and adventures, and an overall personal experience with Costa Rica. I found all of this and more from the moment I arrived. Patty, the villa concierge, took care of every need and detail with amazing grace and efficiency. Upon arriving, I was greeted with smiles by Patty and the house-keeper Yurlani, and the doors opened to spectacular beauty on all levels. The overall architectural design details and furnishings for the communal spaces and casitas are so special and blend in beautifully with the perfect backdrop of the ocean, cliffs, manicured lawn, sparkling pool, and magnificent palms. All perfectly cared for by William, the landscaper. The various amenities offered of personal cooks, massages, grocery shopping, adventure planning or instruction, local restaurant recommendations, rental cars, etc. are all handled expertly by Patty and Niko as well as dealing with any questions or special needs and requests. Turning us onto the "hatch and release" of the baby leatherback and black turtles down the beach was a particular highlight. The beach is only a few minutes down the private path and the ocean and daily sunsets were breathtaking. Wildlife sightings and sounds were a common occurrence and added to the relaxing atmosphere. The weather was perfect and the summer winds prevented the heat from ever getting too oppressive. Whether we were simply relaxing by the pool, in the hammocks, or seeking adventures, I felt like I was experiencing a little piece of heaven. Unforgettable Vacation

We just spent an unforgettable vacation with family and friends at Villa Diosa Del Mar and Oceania. From the moment we arrived Patty, the villa concierge, greeted us with open arms and a beautiful smile. She opened the front door to show us an ocean view we will not forget. Beautifully maintained tropically lush grounds and gardened pathways joining the different dwellings, hammocks and seating amongst palm trees to capture ocean views and sunsets, beach path to wading pools full of life at low tide, and snorkeling beach steps away with tropical fish. Expansive green yard space for sunset yoga(thank you, Patty for organizing, Dianna and Rosalia for teaching us), football or soccer games, or just lounging. The pools were refreshing and clean(thank you, William), the house and rooms always tidied(thank you, Yorleni & Odixi), with clean pool and beach towels always.
Patty is located right next door, and likely needed a holiday after her attentiveness to our every need and request. Patty organized groceries upon our arrival, a cook, sunset yogas, outstanding golf at Hacienda Pinilla, zip line and horseback riding at Pura Aventura, surfing with Nicholas at Longosta Beach, Tamarindo, a wonderful dining experience at Villa Deveena, and many other things. We also ventured out for meals on our own at restaurants---Amigos, Cafe Playa Negra, and especially Villa Deveena are musts. Renting cars is essential, a GPS is a good idea too.
Every area within the villas has beautiful artwork and lighting, unique furnishings, woodwork and architectural details throughout. The attention to detail is endless. Wildlife and nature abounds---palm trees, orchids, flowers, iguanas on the roof, birds, monkeys traversing overhead, butterflies and other interesting insects(it is a rainforest!).
Valerie and Patrick, you have an amazing property and have found priceless staff in Patty, Yorleni, Odix and William. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Villa Diosa del Mar and Oceania with us. We hope to return one day, Pura Vida.

Villa Diosa Del Mar, Playa Junquillal
I have never before written an online review of anything. My wife and two of our grown children and their spouses spent two glorious weeks at Villa Diosa Del Mar in January 2014. This beautiful oceanfront villa exceeded all our expectations. The ocean view and access is spectacular. The accommodations are comfortable and tastefully appointed. Our concierge, cook, housekeeper and gardener could not have been more friendly, hospitable and helpful. We were so content we rarely left the villa and spent most of our time going from the pool to the hammocks overlooking the ocean to the surf. Many thanks to our wonderful caretakers and the owners for sharing their little piece of paradise.

Did not want to leave this place!
Our Experience at Villa Diosa del Mar was fantastic. Everything was first class. We had a group of 3 couples and it was nice because everyone had their own private bed and bath. Fabrice, the concierge was wonderful! He arranged everything all of our activities for us, and it made everything so simple! The house and view were breathtaking, and having you own private pool is so nice! Also, the beaches were beautiful and very secluded, so you have them all to yourselves! We went snorkeling and laid on the sand all day. The house is great for large groups, and the area is safe and has a lot of good restaurants within driving distance. A fantastic stay! I would go back in a heartbeat.

The lush gardens that adorned this beautifully designed and decorated villa along with the ocean views was simply breathtaking...Truly! The infinity pools was a favorite for our 3 kids and a great way to end each day after enjoying a well-planned Costa Rican adventure that Fabrice, the concierge, was kind enough to arrange for us. Playa Junquillal and the quaint, surrounding areas were just what we needed to get a taste of the Costa Rican culture. Thanks to Fabrice and Patie's knowledge of the area, we were able to zipline the canopy, take surfing lessons, visit area beaches & Rincon de la Vieja & Palo Verde National Parks without traveling a great distance. I also recommend utilizing the services of Pashal & Camille, french chef's that provided delectable meals! How wonderful it was to wake in the morning to the sound of the ocean and to the smell of coffee brewing. Honestly, do not pass up an opportunity to enjoy the luxuries that this villa can offer to a family/families or a great couples retreat!

Fantastic stay at this beautiful house!!
After a long trip to Costa Rica, coming from England, what was our surprise to find this wonderfull house with this unique view!!! we were really very surprised of the charming and creative decoration of the house.
The beach is fabulous and exceptional quiet. It is as the beach belongs to the house. A lot of privacy and quietness, for us this was the best place in Costa Rica for the beachfront house and to enjoy a trully and exceptional vacation. Bravo to the french owners they did a great job and good luke for the future!!

Best time of my life!
We stayed there with my husband for our honymoon. It was such a lovely and romantic place. Its very quiet and clean, also the view is amazing. I enjoyed the beach and the great food. Hope we can go back on next summer!
