My 85yo mom and I took a trip together as we have been doing every 5 years or so for decades. We chose Monterey for sentimental and aesthetic reasons: we lived here when I was a young kid. This historic cottage was a great location because it was close to the coastal path and Lovers Point which allowed me to go out on foot for early morning exploring while she enjoyed quiet since she isn't as mobile.
The house itself was easy to access and had all the space we needed for individual privacy and sitting together for meals and planning our days. House was perfect for two but could have accommodated up to six. Parking in front of house was easy. The bedrooms had plenty of space, good storage and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed.
It was a nice touch that a welcome note, milk and bottle of wine with chilled glasses were waiting in the fridge.
This is an old house and the bathroom / kitchen reflect that but it was as expected. Plenty of towels and everything functional. Small microwave but works fine. No dishwasher but no biggie. Table space was good for two; probably would feel crowded with 4. Good pantry storage for groceries.
We didn't use the little garden out back or the living room much but saw deer in the park behind the house twice. The manager left us a small cooler at our request which was handy for days out. Good communication (always important). We love Pacific Grove and had a great trip.

Superb location within minutes to Lovers Pointe, Monterey or Carmel. Property was clean and cozy. The pictures do not do it justice. Perfect for a small family or group of friends to enjoy. Host was friendly and helpful- gave us local recommendations to a bonfire and other local activities.

We had a perfect visit to Pacific Grove at this Victorian cottage. Great beds, an amazingly well supplied kitchen, and a cozy fireplace! Such a joy to sit on the front porch and walk to breakfast and then stroll along the ocean.

This house was the perfect spot for exploring Monterey and PG. We enjoyed walking to the Farmer’s Market, the Natural History Museum, and the beach at Lover’s Point. There is a park just out the back door and the aquarium, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the Pt Pinos Lighthouse are all short bike ride away.
The house had everything we needed and was well maintained.

This cottage was an amazing place for our stay. It’s close to the major attractions of Pacific Grove and the neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. The host Nina was amazing since the beginning and she was making sure that everything was great before and while we were staying there. I’d definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

My son and I had a wonderful time visiting Pacific Grove and this was the perfect spot for us! Just a couple of blocks up from Lovers Point, the access to the waterfront was amazing, and it is also situated a block away from The Red House Cafe (my favorite breakfast place in the area) and downtown Pacific Grove. The home was clean, private, and well-equipped. The home was surprisingly larger than I expected, and the amenities were great - wifi, good heat, nice high ceilings. I love staying in the old Victorian, although admittedly the sink i the bathroom was a little short and small but that suited my son and I just perfectly! We had great communication with the owners and the neighbors were friendly and looking out for us. All in all a terrific stay! We would definitely go back!

We had a great stay! The owners were easy to get ahold of and the location is wonderful! We enjoyed our daily walks to Lover's Point and along the recreation trail and visiting restaurants and stores along Lighthouse. We had extended family staying in the area and they were able to comfortably meet and visit in the house. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Monterey, PG area!

The property was just as described, a charming Victorian cottage. Everything was clean and well organized. The cottage was perfectly located. It is out of the crowds of Cannery Row yet a short walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium or downtown Pacific Grove. I would definitely recommend visiting.

Charming little vintage home close enough to the Aquarium and coast to walk (barely over a mile to those places). Nice access to cute downtown too. Only one bathroom and less kitchen gadgets than bigger, newer homes, but we didn’t use kitchen much.
We liked the Tiffany lamps, City park behind the home, and feeling of timelessness.

This is the rental if you need some quality ocean time!! Just a short walk, about 4 blocks, to Lovers Point. A doable walk to the Aquarium and others sites and restaurants! A great choice of restaurants just two blocks away! Great choice!

There was a strong natural gas smell that was difficult to mitigate.
Older/vintage stivers had a leak and/poorly ventilated. We had to prop open all windows and doors to sleep. Windows were not operable (rotting, no locks which needed books and cans to hold them open). The situation was very unsafe and unhealthy.

Lovely place near playground
We had a lovely time in Pacific Grove with our family of 4. Everything we could need and being able to walk out the back door and cross the street to the playground was a huge bonus. Very happy with our stay!

Love Old Houses But....
As advertised, this property was a victorian bungalow in a nice neighborhood of other similar victorian or very old houses surrounding a park where children played adults did yoga, tai chi, and other exercises every morning. I love old properties but also chose this house for its location compared to others which were in Seaside, much farther away. The living room and the bedrooms were nicely decorated and cozy. However, the kitchen stove was very old and the burners were stiff and hard to operate. Since we cooked breakfast every morning this was important. We also thought that we might be smelling gas. I think it is time to upgrade the stove. Also, there is only a wall space heater in the hallway and the heat doesn't distribute very well throughout the house. We were there during the height of the cold snap and the first night, I ended up waking up in the middle of the night feeling quite cold. However, this may not be an issue most of the year because normally the weather there is probably more moderate. We also brought food home from restaurants because, with temperatures in the 40s, outdoor dining was not comfortable and we didn't want to risk COVID by dining indoors. I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because of the age of the house and the facilities.

A gem of an older cottage in the heart of Pacific Grove, as well as a block from Lover's Cove. Very comfortable, easy parking, and friendly neighbors. Can't wait to return!

Cute cottage, very clean and close to everything!
We enjoyed our comfortable stay in the cottage and loved that we were so close to the Beach trail by Lovers Point and downtown Pacific Grove. Nice park with playground right out the back door for couples with kids.

Awesome spot!
This place was amazing. The location is ideal - easy walk to downtown Pacific Grove and to the beach and right across the street from a great park that my daughter loved. The house is just as cute as the pictures make it seem. And the price, when booked two days before a holiday weekend, was incredible. When I booked this place it seemed too good to be true, but it really was as wonderful as it seemed. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home in the perfect location
This house was the perfect location in Pacific Grove! We loved walking to the beach, shops and restaurants. The home was very charming and had everything my family of three needed for a weeklong stay - comfortable beds, plenty of towels and a well-stocked kitchen. We highly recommend the farmer’s market on Mondays. It’s an easy walk and a great place to grab dinner and local produce.

fantastic location, lovely cottage!
We loved our stay here, and couldn't have asked for a better location, or better host for our vacation. The property is very clean, neat, and the location cannot get any better (just a bunny hop from ocean). Our host was amazing, too, very helpful and very good and quick with communication. We loved it, and will definitely come back when we can!

A Cozy Wrapping for your trip.
This is a very old well kept cottage. It is located in a perfect quiet part of the town. The cheerful noises of the park across the street add more charm to it. Neighbors are quiet and when they do make noise you hear it very clear like they are in your backyard :)) Nina is a carrying host. Inside we had everything clean and ready for us. Loved the bed linens! The town of Pacific Grove is full of treasures to those who can see. And Nina’s cottage is the spot to stay to have your discoveries at arm’s reach.

Old world feel
It would be a good idea to bring a carbon monoxide detector as the vintage enamel gas stove has numerous pilot lights running 24 hours which taint the air. Best to keep both windows open a few inches to bring in a healthy cross breeze to refresh the room.

The place is charming and the location couldn’t better! Beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean. We loved being so close to the ocean! Will return.
