The house was great we had 3 small issues
1 think the owners should stress more that the stairs from parking area are the only way in. Having knee problems it was an issue
2 The step into the kitchen could be marked with yellow tape. One older relative had a bad fall on it
3 A minor issue….. the coffee pot does not turn off automatically and we went off leaving it on. It ended ok but could have been a real problem
None of these are huge issues but would be helpful for future rental

Wonderful beach getaway
My partner and I had a lovely vacation at your home. The house had everything we needed and was right down the street from the beach. We especially enjoyed the front patio. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make clear in the listing that this is not a private home; there is a resident staying downstairs. The resident did not disrupt us at all (in fact she was quite friendly and even helped us!) but it would be good to have an accurate listing.

Perfect getaway
The location in superb only steps from the trail to Long Beach. The property was clean and roomy and great for separation especially if there are inclement weather days.
They provide all of the linens and the kitchen was well stocked. There are 2 TV's both small, which is no matter to me as I don't watch much but for those who like large TV's they may be disappointed.
The whole experience was great and I highly recommend.

Perfect getaway
Whether you're coming from nearby towns or far away states, this is an ideal getaway. Great proximity to the beach as well as other sites in the Cape Ann/northeastern Massachusetts area. The house is clean, there is a beautiful yard, there is plenty of room in the house and the pool table is a real bonus when you don't feel like running around sightseeing.

Wonderful place to stay
The Beachcomber cottage was a wonderful place to stay at Long Beach. The house had beach chairs, sun umbrella, and beach towels all provided. The yard is nicely landscaped and quiet. My family enjoyed playing pool in the evening and had a great week.

Absolutely perfect!!
Everything was perfect. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need while on vacation. The house is beautiful and spotless and located in a quiet neighborhood. It is literally a 2 minute walk from the driveway to beautiful Long Beach. It has a beautiful yard with lots of big trees to provide shade which was a welcome change from the hot sun on the beach. We loved it so much we have already booked for next year. We feel so lucky to have found this beautiful home to spend our family vacation. Thank you Laura for renting your beautiful home to us!

Best vacation ever
This was the best vacation ever. No stress, the owner and her daughter make everything so easy. The house is well kept and clean. Long Beach is my favorite beach in Massachusetts and love going every year. Have rented several houses over the numerous years that we have been going but this one - is the best one. The beds are very comfortable. Love that this is house is close to everything, beach, and food. lol. Bearskin and Gloucester are my favorite places to visit. Look forward to going on this vacation every year.

WOW!
I can't say enough good things about the Beachcomber Cottage! Laura has created a warm, welcoming, clean and well appointed home and amazingly offers it as a rental! My family found the home spacious enough to spread out when we wanted some quiet time but there were enough large spaces (inside and out) to gather and eat together. My mother, who has some knee issues and is partially blind, appreciated the grab bars in the bathroom and in a few other places in the house that offered her the extra security she requires. Let's not forget the real reason you rent this house--Long Beach! We love Long Beach and the Beachcomber is about the 6th house up from the sandy path that takes you right down to a picture perfect spot at the end of the crescent shaped beach! I would say with slow legs the walk will take to 4 minutes and with a quick step you can do it in 2. The owners were always quick to reply to my questions and we will rent this house again and again. If you can find an available week, snap this place up!

Family Vacation
What a great place! This house made our vacation! Our favorite house that we have ever rented! We came with our two kids, ages 13 and 19 and allowed them both to bring friends and the house easily accommodated this arrangement! The house was so well maintained, clean and with lovely details, with a great yard. The deck with grill made a lovely area to eat dinners and there was an inside generous dining room table that sat 6 for colder, rainy evenings. And the location....to die for....one block from Long Beach and an easy 10 minute walk to Good Harbor Beach, which we enjoyed mornings, afternoons and evenings. And, there's a great ice cream shop on the way to Good Harbor. I also need to mention that the generously spaced upstairs area with a full bedroom, bathroom and living room area that has a full size pool table was excellent for my teenage daughter and her friends and of course the pool table was a huge hit with all of us! Also, the owners were so nice and responsive to our needs and questions. We would return without hesitation. Well worth the price!

Our Family Christmas
Most people think of Beachcomber Cottage as a summer vacation spot, but it was a perfect place for our family to spend Christmas together. It was spacious enough for everyone to have privacy when they needed it, and meals all together without being crowded. The kitchen was equipped with all the utensils for our Christmas dinner, and later in the week, a fresh lobster dinner. It's welcoming and comfortable in every sense of the word - including holiday decorations to make us feel at home. The location is perfect - close to Rockport, Rocky Neck and Gloucester, each with their own charm and history. Best of all is its proximity to a beautiful beach, which we walked every day. Another feature is the large deck, which overlooks a professionally landscaped yard. We can't wait to go back!

My family just returned from a wonderful stay at the Beachcomber and are already looking forward to going back.
First of all, the house and property were beautiful. There was plenty of room for my 3 generation family to spread out and relax as well as be together. My daughter loved the beautiful back yard to play hide and seek, while my parents enjoyed the beautiful views from the spacious deck. The house is clean and well maintained.
The most important attraction is being mere steps from Long Beach, a real treat with its beautiful sand and sparkling waters. Sunset walks, collecting shells , and splashing in the beautiful water were all a wonderful way to pass the time.
The house is within minutes of great shopping to both downtown Gloucester and Rockport.
Laura was a pleasure to work with, and my family is already counting the days to our return!

The Beachcomber Experience was WONDERFUL
This was my first family vacation (9 of us) in Cape Ann Gloucester and the Beachcomber rental property was wonderful! Having a property that supplied linens, and paper goods and was equipped with a washer and dryer was a huge plus! The beds were comfortable, lawn well kept, and the house itself very clean. The location was great being a few miles from Rockport, and few steps to the beach, and close to grocery stores. I would highly recommend this rental home!

Comfortable, well-located & versatile beach house
Our family stayed at the Beachcomber Cottage for 2 weeks in August, three seasons in a row, which should tell you something. A very comfortable, well stocked house with a versatile floor plan that allows for simultaneous, separate indoor activities in the evening or when weather doesn't cooperate. Long Beach a couple of houses away, and Good Harbor Beach a 5 minute bike ride or less than 15 if you're walking. A popular ice cream place up the street, and groceries, liquor and fresh fish all within minutes. We spent most evenings grilling on the generous deck, overlooking a very large, landscaped, private yard. Plentiful parking and a garage for storing bikes. We recommend the house without reservation.

Perfect house for family fun
Our daughter got married at Willowdale Estate. Since we were from out of town, we decided to rent a house within commuting distance to the wedding but near a beach. The Beachcomber was the perfect house for us. Beautiful Long Beach was a short stroll away and the house was stocked with everything you could possibly need including beach chairs and beach towels! Our son loved his room off the upstairs den (complete with pool table). Good Harbor Beach was only a mile away and we could walk easily to the Dairy Maid! Huge cones! Pizza was very good there too! If you simply can't get away from the office, they've got WiFi too. This came in very handy a couple of times for us. All in all, it was a very relaxing place to stay, in a beautiful setting, close to anything you might want or need, for a satisfying holiday. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and hope to go back someday and invite our adult children to join us for a week of coastal fun and relaxation. I highly recommend staying here whether your children are 5 or 25. And if you happen to be hosting or joining a wedding party in the area...renting a house like this is a lifesaver.

A perfect Thanksgiving family reunion!
Six of us in our family travelled from near and far for our annual Thanksgiving get-together. This was an ideal house and location for us!! As paddleboard surfers and beachwalkers, being right on Long Beach was a delight! The house exceeded our expectations! We loved the spaciousness, the bedrooms were perfect, the upstairs "luxury suite," as my son put it, was an incredible area for him and his wife as they enjoyed the privacy for study, rest, and play. The magnificent pool table and large activity room were an added bonus as all my kids, my husband, and 3 friends enjoyed endless games of pool there. We loved the kitchen for multiple cooks preparing Thanksgiving dinner and even a small party. The dining room was spacious, the living room fantastic with it's skylights, magnificent brick fireplace and cozy New England charm. We all loved the antique pieces throughout the house, the little soap boxes, and the well-stocked kitchen drawers and cupboards! Everything we needed and more! The view from the 2nd floor bedroom was outstanding! The waves and surfers were the constant goal to watch. The driveway and parking area were incredibly spacious! The deck and yard were impressive, too! What a place! I also loved the fact that we were just down the road from the great restaurants in Gloucester and the lovely shops of Rockport! A gorgeous drive in a very scenic area. Thank you so much. My family and I will not forget this lovely home. We all have fond memories and hope to come back. This is a very special place, and it's already been recommended to friends.

Great time...
We rented this property for my wife, son 14 months and myself with the hopes family members would have room to stay with us as well. Our expectations were exceeded, this house has room for two small families and makes for fantastic family gatherings. About 200 yards from front door to water. Very easy to get too. Beautifully shaded house and porch makes this extremely comfortable for afternoon BBQ's and gathers.

The Beachcomber: Everything that was promised, and more!!!!!
Our week at the Beachcomber Cottage was blissful. The house was spacious, comfortable, well-appointed, and very inviting. Everything that was promised was provided--from beach towels, to beach chairs, to paper goods, and everything in between. The backyard is spectacularly beautiful--large, lush and beautifully cultivated. The walk to the beach is around three minutes long, and from several of the bedrooms, we could see the ocean. What a joy!! And the beach is perfect: Clean, full of life but not over-crowded, and with very reasonable, well-mannered people. We could walk to local restaurants serving delicious ice cream, pizza, subs, seafood and more. There was plenty of room for parking, as well.We had such a wonderful time that we have already booked TWO WEEKS for next year. What more can one say?
