We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Humpback Mountain! Our group ranged in age from 5 to 70 and we all loved it. Home was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of seating inside and out. We enjoyed early morning coffee on the deck for at least an hour every day. We cooked most meals at home and felt the home was very well stocked. Beds were comfy and kiddos enjoyed playing some new games. The peace and quiet was amazing! We also enjoyed the drive up the mountain because we live in the "flatlands"! Highly recommend for those wanting some away time!

We really enjoyed our stay and the property has an excellent view. There were a few minor things we noted for the owner for next time. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

Another great stay in this home. Convenient to Linville Falls, the Caverns, Blowing Rock and all other points of interest along the Parkway. Spruce Pine appears to be coming out of the pandemic in good shape with new businesses and restaurants opening up. The home itself is extremely well done and the patio is the perfect place for morning coffee or a nightcap. Looking forward to our next stay up here.

Beautifully remodeled, very clean house that immediately felt like home. Set in the mountains where the only sounds you hear are distant waterfalls and chirping birds, you also have an amazing panoramic view of the mountains from the open concept family/dining/kitchen floor plan, one of the master bedrooms and the downstairs living space. The kitchen was well-suited for full meal preparation. We were lucky enough to be there during a full moon. Very good proximity to beautiful hiking trails of all levels. Communication with owner was very easy.

Bill was great at communicating and answered immediately when we had questions or issues. House has great view but scary drive up mount if you come from flat land. Agree with other reviews a little uncomfortable having owners food in fridge and clothes in closet

Cons: As others have stated we felt like we were intruding on the owners space as their clothing was in the closet, personal items in the bathrooms, and food in the fridge and pantry. We barely had enough space to store our food as 95% of the pantry was filled with the owners food. PROS: The home was beautiful and as advertised, all items from cookie sheet to crock pot was there. Large dining table to accommodate us all. Loved that the kids had their own lil area downstairs in the bunk room with tv and games so they didn't have to hang with the adults. Loved the view from the deck to watch the sunrise every morning. Home is close to the parkway, falls, and neighboring towns. Owner was swift to respond, we look forward to returning soon.

Our experience in the grandstand was fantastic. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen was well stocked and spacious for the family to work in. The Wi-Fi was a little weak, but I turned on the hotspot on my phone and it worked like a charm. The one thing that was missing was a game table( Table tennis, Foosball) things like that. A lot of things to do and places to go nearby. We all had A great experience and memories to last a lifetime. WHAT A VIEW👍

I can’t say enough about this house and the vacation we had. House was spectacular and easy to get to considering others we had stayed at before. The layout is so comfortable and perfect for family or friends to hang out. The fire pit outside was for sure the best part. Although it was in the 20’s and 30’s most of the time, we are from Florida and wanted to soak up all the cold weather we could get. Even had snow flurries one day. The beds are extremely comfortable and cozy. The house comes with every amenity you will need. Our group had ages from 17, 21, 50’s, and 82. All had so much fun with plenty do so in area including skiing to just staying in the house watching Christmas movies and making s’mores. Although the house has wifi, it’s a bit spotty but it did work. I think it has to do with the mountain and not the Wi-Fi itself. Service in the area in general was always hit or miss. The grill had gas so we cooked 2 nights with it. The house also had a good amount of wood to start vacation and we got more while we were there. Really can’t say enough of what a beautiful home this was and what a great time we had. Thank you Bill for being great to communicate with.

Wonderful spacious home with a beautiful view. We were fortunate to enjoy the ever-changing landscape of fall colors. The house is well maintained and very comfortable with a firepit that we put to good use. We cooked some excellent meals and added a few wine corks to your collection.

This is our 4th stay at the Mountain Mist house and it always feels like we are coming home. The house is warm and inviting and so relaxing! Beautifully decorated and stocked with all you need in a lovely kitchen! We love to build a fire in the evening or just be lazy and watch it rain. So convenient to amazing hiking and great recreation areas along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is our happy place where we plan to retire to from Florida!!! We went on a 2 week road trip and this was our favorite stay! The home was spacious with a great outdoor space. The view was stunning. Our kids loved the bunk beds and fire pit for s'mores. It was quiet and peaceful. If ever in the area again, this is where we'd hope to stay.

2nd stay in this home. Really like it and it’s perfect for kids. Close to Spruce Pine, Linville Falls and an easy drive up to Boone / Blowing Rock. Fire pit area is a great place to unwind.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very homey and warm feeling, and has much of what you’ll need on hand already. We have stayed in a number of vacation rentals and seldom have we felt as immediately comfortable as we did here. The view from the back porch and fit pit area is postcard worthy. Would definitely stay again.

The house was beautiful. The listing states there is a fireplace but they won’t let you use it and the gas grill had no gas in it. Other than those 2 things we enjoyed our stay.

The house was updated, clean and perfect for our weekend family getaway. Views were unmatched! Bill was wonderful to work with, quick to respond and very accommodating! We hope to visit again soon!

My husband and I stayed in this cabin with a couple of friends and their kids. The owner was very responsive with all of our questions. The location and views were to die for. We had so much luck that it snowed while we were there since it was one thing the kids wanted to see. It was a short distance trip to Sugar Mountain for snow tubing. All rooms were cozy and had their separate bathrooms. Garage was a lifesaver for snowy days. Definitely would recommend.

We could not have asked for a more perfect house for our holiday week getaway. First: The view, the view , the view. I feel like we enjoyed all the moods of the mountains, from clear mountain sunrises to misty, in-the-clouds, evenings. We had wonderful conversations by the fire pit, slept like babies in the comfortable master bedrooms, cooked gourmet meals, and just enjoyed hanging out in a super cozy house. So grateful to have had this vacation.

Being situated in Spruce Pines allowed us to explore both Banner Elk AND Asheville locations. The home had fantastic views from the upper deck and the Southern exposure kept light pouring in all day. The views from the master were a great way to start the day watching the sun rise. The property is clean, well updated and an open layout that keeps bedrooms separated.

The house was beautiful, very clean, and had everything we needed. The views were simply breathtaking! We stayed there for a week, and explored the area every day, but would've been content to just sit on the porch and take in the scenery as well. I loved that the location was right off the parkway. It was less than an hour (on the parkway with beautiful views) to places like Blowing Rock, Moses Cone Manor, Linville Falls, etc. The only thing I would note for anyone traveling with small children, is that the kids' bedroom is completely separate from the other rooms, and the top bunks do not have side rails. Our older kids slept down there by themselves, but we ended up having our 6 year old sleep upstairs because we were worried about him falling out of bed or going outside by himself through the back door. Everything was as described by the owner, and these things were not problematic, but if you have kids who may need the bed railing, or might not be comfortable sleeping far away from you downstairs, it's something to be aware of. The owner, Bill, was very communicative and helpful with anything we needed. We loved the house and the view, and miss the mountains already! We hope to return sometime and would definitely rent this property again.

This was the perfect little mountain house for us and our two little girls (age 7 and 4). The kitchen was gorgeous and fully stocked, the rooms and beds wore so cozy and comfortable and we loved the huge shower in master bath. Honestly the master king bed might be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on while on vacation. The house clearly had recent and lovely renovations. The view was spectacular at all hours of the day, and we used the fire pit every night and looked at the stars. We even roasted hotdogs and s’mores on our final night. We lucked out and had gorgeous sunny weather with perfect fall temps, and the colors seemed to bloom before our very eyes. We loved driving on the beautiful parkway to get everywhere we wanted to go. We visiting Linville and Crabtree falls, grandfather mountain, and the emerald village. We drove up to blowing rock which is a gorgeous mountain town we would love to visit again. We were so grateful for this mountain home, and created family memories there that will last a lifetime.

We very much enjoyed our stay due to a beautiful home, amazing views, well appointed kitchen, and great service. The house was immaculate and responses to our questions were immediate which was greatly appreciated. There is abundant scenic beauty in this area with the Blue Ridge Parkway and Linville Falls just a short drive. We would highly recommend staying here.

Great views and home had everything we needed

We had a wonderful week at the Mountain Mist Cabin! We felt at home from the moment we walked in. This was a perfect location to unwind and feel secluded during these crazy times. We all were very sad the week had to end. It was a perfect cabin for two couples and our children. The king sized beds were comfortable. The basement was a great place for the cousins to hang out. The door by the stairs and on the deck were perfect to keep our dog from wandering off. We cooked almost every meal in the kitchen. We had a campfire every night and loved looking at the stars and listening to the sounds. We had very quick responses from the property owner for any of our questions. We enjoyed hiking and visiting Linville Falls, Crabtree Falls, Roaring Fork Falls, Grandfather Mountain and Lake James even if the weather didn't cooperate as it was a pretty rainy week. We enjoyed driving on Blue Ridge Parkway everyday to get to our destination. The views from the home were amazing. I would recommend taking a picture of the mountains everyday as each day they looked different depending on the weather and clouds. Just breathtaking! This cabin exceeded all our expectations and we are anxious to book again. Thank you for everything Small Family!

When we arrived the place was even better than we expected it. It was extremely roomy and clean, and it was perfect for kids and dogs. The views were beautiful, and the location was great. Our only struggle was a weak WiFi and our carrier T-Mobile provides barely any service in the area. As we learned later other carriers do not have that issue. Besides that, we had an overall great time. I really recommend this house to any family looking for a peaceful getaway with remarkable views.

This was a great rental home! The pictures don’t do it justice. The interior is much nicer and roomier than we expected, very comfortable for our family of 4 and dog for a week. The house was SUPER clean when we arrived. While it doesn’t have the curb appeal of some of the cabins listed online, the upper deck provides gorgeous Mountain View’s and the property is very well maintained. We enjoyed sitting around the large fire pit. The kitchen is very well stocked, everything you need minus the food. We baked, we grilled, we cooked and the kitchen had It all and then some. They provided starter sets of everything (paper towel, TP, dish soap, laundry). Bill, the property owner, was very responsive to all of my questions. He even suggested we hit up a brand new Ingles grocery in Marion before heading up to the house. There is a Walmart super center nearby as well. Location - it’s pretty up in to the mountains, which is great for the air and view, however just know to add 10+ mins to any driving estimates. Also, the house pad itself is not as remote as you would think from the listing. The neighbor on one side (maybe renters, who knows) could be heard when we were outside, sort of taking away the alone in the woods feeling. One morning, while I was enjoying coffee and the view, they were doing a boot camp workout and you could hear everything. Nearby hiking/waterfalls were great - make sure to check out Lindville falls and Crabtree Falls! WiFi/phone - be prepared, we had zero cell service and there is no house phone. We needed to make a call and had to drive down the mountain to the Walmart lot (we have T-mobile). Bill did say other carriers work. Also, WiFi is slow and too weak to stream or download anything. Had we known, we would have just brought DVD’s to watch on provided blue ray) and downloaded in advance to our laptop as we did have some rainy weather. Not a negative toward the house but something to know in advance. Overall, we highly recommend this house for a vacation getaway.

The home and property were exactly as described, if not better! Great location, beautiful view, and every amenity imaginable. Our stay was perfect in every way. My family voted this to be our best vacation ever!
