It was hard to do anything other than sit on the deck or in the hot tub. It's a gorgeous area and the house layout worked really well for our two families. Watching the stars from the hot tub is a magical experience.

Three of us friends had a really great time in this unique place! The deck and views are incredible - we kept talking about how they were so beautiful they looked fake! We cooked there and had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for us to relax and the smart TVs were great. We enjoyed the town of Little Switzerland, spent ab afternoon in Asheville and had a great time at the alpine coaster (get the 3-pack!). We will definitely be back!!!

We’ll maintained and updated property which would be great for a family or getaway for just the two of you. My husband and I enjoyed the views and hot tub. The beds and living area were great for snuggling up in the evenings and it was the perfect home base with access to Little Switzerland, Spruce Pine and the North Cove area. Highly recommend!!

We have been staying at this house for years, but this was our first stay since the new owners purchased it. The rental price hike was steep, especially for just two or four guests. They made some nice, simple cosmetic updates in the loft, which were long overdue. Our friends we invited to join us stayed in the main level bedroom and said the mattress was terribly uncomfortable, so I felt bad about that. The kitchen and upstairs bathroom need blinds or a shade, especially since one of the exterior cameras on that side of the house unnecessarily points directly toward the house, which is a bit creepy. The view from the deck is still one of the best. Based on VRBO’s rating system, I gave it a 5-star rating, but I wanted to be honest and provide the best feedback I can.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely chalet, tucked privately away, overlooking the most magnificent views! The house was roomy, yet cozy and had all of the necessities one might need away from home! We would love to return one day with family!

Our stay was short but wonderful! The chalet is as described and pictured, it is very clean and welcoming. The view was unbelievable and sitting on the deck was a treat for your soul. The only issue we had was a trailer and a motorcycle, the road in is not friendly to either of those.
This property is a gem but Austin, is a person of such kindness and integrity that meeting him even via email made the trip that much better.

We had a great time
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Fox and Hen Den. The house was a pleasure to stay in ( the view is, of course, spectacular) location was perfect for hiking and gem mining and other things we enjoy. The Air hockey and foosball tables were great for the downtimes. Will definitely consider renting this house again.

We had a blast! The house was so cool & loved the spiral staircase. The deck, table & chairs, hot tub and the view were perfect! Definitely one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacation trips I have ever taken. Enjoyed visiting Spruce Pine, NC and the area. Definitely will come back! Thank you for a fantastic weekend!!

Beautiful mountain getaway
This gorgeous home in Little Switzerland has fantastic views including a wonderful vista directly visible from inside the hot tub. Nothing beats having a hot coffee in the hot tub while taking in the view if the mountains to start your morning.
For families, there is also a wide variety of activities at the home, including Foosball, Pool, Air Hockey, and board games.

The best view
There is no better view in Little Switzerland than the one from the deck at Fox and Hen. The sunrises are stunning. We have stayed here several times and absolutely love it. Easy check-in/out and great excellent hosts.

Girls weekend
We spent 5 days at the Fox and Henry for my 50th birthday. I made reservations a yr in advance because I was so excited. The views from the deck were amazing! Absolutely gorgeous. The house is just a described. I love it and definitely will be back.

Over Due Getaway
Loved our stay at this lovely Chalet. It was the perfect setting for a our getaway and reunion with 2 family members who we haven’t seen in at least 10 years. The view from the deck & hot tub is beyond description. It obvious that the owners had given a lot of thought to making your stay something you’ll remember for a long time. Lots to do in the area or just relax and read, play games or watch movies at night.

Million Dollar View
This chalet is very homey, very comfortable and much bigger than you would think. We fell in love with this home, the view is astounding and we had never seen so many hummingbirds at any given time! We had a ball. We explored the area a little but mostly stayed in and explored the home and property and watched and fed the hummingbirds. The spiral staircase is gorgeous, but beware, if you are not good with stairs, make sure you set up on the 2nd floor. We hope to stay there again in the future.

This was the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen,. and it's right off the deck!, The house was very clean and there are lots of places in the area to spend your time. But if you want to just relax and take in the view, this is the place to be!!!

Panoramic views!
We’ve been to many mountain homes throughout the country but have never stayed at such a beautiful home that sits atop a mountain with amazing panoramic views! So quiet & peaceful, we didn’t want to leave for long. The humming birds! The hot tub overlooking the mountains! A mile up the road is the Switzerland Inn where we had a fantastic lunch and hiked several nearby trails. Next time we’ll follow through on our original plan and make it out to Mount Mitchell and Linville Falls. This home is also good for larger families - so many areas to spread out both inside the home and outside on the very large wraparound deck. We will be back! Gorgeous Views!
We spent a wonderful week at the Swiss Chalet. We loved having coffee on the deck in the morning, and happy hour and dinner out there again in the late afternoon and evening. The view of the mountains is spectacular. We enjoyed hiking around Mount Mitchell and the Linville Falls area - each was about an hour away in opposite directions. The hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a day of hiking. Kris and Jim were excellent hosts.

Wonderful stay at Little Switzerland chalet
Our family had a lovely time at this charming chalet. We enjoyed getting in the hot tub each day after a day exploring the local state parks and waterfalls. I would go each morning to pick the blueberries on the property to have them with breakfast. My boys played in the rec room the whole time we weren't out on adventures. My youngest said he wanted to live there forever. Such a serene and well-decorated place to stay in the North Carolina mountains. Thanks, Kris and Jim!

Ideal Location to Rejuvenate and Reconnect
We instantly fell in love with the place as soon as we pulled in the drive way! After unlocking the door, we went straight to the deck and just gazed at the spectacular view. There is such a calm quietness about the property that you can't help but dream about the next time you can return.

We had our honeymoon at this cabin! It was peaceful, quiet, with an amazing view. We were never bothered or saw anyone on the property, which was great for us. little Switzerland was really close so we were able to go to all the cute little shops and restaurants. Also blue ridge parkway is SUPER close, so the location is great! The road was a little bit of a challenge but the owners were very good at preparing you for that.

Serenity found in Little Switzerland
My husband and I stayed in this lovely home for a week and did not want our time here to end. This magical mountain escape is truly a special place. The owners have created quite an oasis here and were super responsive any time we had a question. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the mountain air is just the thing we needed to rest and recharge. The animal and bird life was also exciting to observe. The area is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and the views along that roadway are stunning as well. There were some great hiking trails in the area (Crabtree Falls is a must-see!), which was something we enjoyed exploring each day. We hope to return again someday soon, but the experience will be forever in our hearts. Many thanks, Kris and Jim!
