The room was out dated and noisy

The location was great, easy walking distance to a dozen restaurants and bars. The staff was excellent and was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Due to its age and what appears to be deferred maintenance the property was very tired.

It was a bit run down. I was there for a little bit of work and relax. The chair they had in the room to work on was horrible.

Christine was exceptional. She was so sweet and helped my kids and I with moving to another room when our cable box went out. And she made sure we stayed stocked up with necessities, and that we were having an enjoyable time. She went out of her way to be kind to my kids and I and will absolutely be the reason we return 🥰🥰

Not a fan of the breakfast room employees. An issue happened in there and the employee did nothing to assist

Definitely an older building definitely will need some serious remodeling in a few years. Breakfast isn’t special just an ordinary hotel breakfast. Was a little dirty in the common areas but mostly due to the age of the building

They didn't honor my confirmation for booking.com and was turned away because their computers were down. Left my 70 year old mom and aunt stranded during their visit to California. Just terrible front desk person and management service calling the supervisor at home was a mess with no help to see how they could have helped the situation. Showed the confirmation through book.com on my phone and email and was absolutely no help just said sorry we can't it on our end so no rooms for you. Ughhh really?

It wasn’t clean. One of the beds smelled like pee and we all develop rashes After sleeping in the beds

Been staying here for many years. We love this hotel and the location.

Wish it wasn’t so expensive to stay there now. Charging for parking I feel like is a new thing. Where are you supposed to park your car while on vacation if not at the place you are staying?

The location of the property was great for anyone spending time at the local beaches or boating from Dana Point Harbor

The property isnt well maintained. The electronic keys didn’t work well , no cleaning services, trash and dirty towels not cleaned up.

Clean pool, good breakfast, staff was very accommodating, great location, could control the temperature in our room. We had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Lovely proximity to harbor. Housekeeping staff were helpful.

Staff up front were a bit uninterested when we arrived.

You wake up in the morning, step outside and there is the water of the Pacific Ocean for $150 sometimes less. The people who work here are friendly and make you feel like they are there to make you feel at home and be of service to you. If you’re on a trip visiting the area, it’s close to all kinds of activities places to eat. In fact, you can get free buses in this area. (There are also buses that cost money but not a.lot.) the free ones look like trolleys, but have tires on them. I don’t know if they stop right in front of the hotel or if you have to walk a little bit but check it out because you can take them all the way up the coast to all different towns all the way to Newport Beach. Maybe further I’m not sure. if you’re not familiar with the area check out a map they also go in land a little bit. If I was trying to have a vacation right by the water in Southern California and did not want to spend a ton on lodging, I would definitely stay here. I would use those buses especially with the price of gas these days. Just Park, your car at the hotel and leave it. The motel is right in the parking lot of the harbor and there are activities within the harbor that you can do as well. restaurants , shops, and I love the Ocean Institute. look it up. My kids did summer camp there but the public can go at certain hours and learn all kinds of things about the beach and the sea. Also within walking distance, are whale watching businesses fishing boats you can pay to go on or just fish off the jette if you have poles etc . Maybe you can rent them. You can rent paddle boards bicycles for the boardwalk probably other things I don’t know about . I like Captain Dave’s whale watching, and some of those things cost money but you’ll be saving a lot if you stay at this motel. also you get a free breakfast in the morning not just fruit and bread they actually have scrambled eggs , potato’s, hot cereal, you can make your own waffle type deal. ..

They don’t have microwaves in several of the rooms but you can have stuff heated up at front desk. Also, Here’s the thing… I have stayed here at least a month probably more over the last 6 month period. I grew up in the area and I am house shopping far away out in the desert. So I wanted to stay here for sentimental reasons since I’m moving away and saving my money for a house so I didn’t wanna spend a lot on a hotel. what you need to know is this building is old . They clean it very well. Some sections seem a bit newer but you can’t scrub away old. I stay here because The entire harbor is going to be flattened and rebuilt. They put this harbor in when I was a kid and I rode my bike 5 miles every Saturday in grade school and middle to hang out in this area. So the old doesn’t bother me. . , Plus you can’t beat the location if you’re trying to get close to the ocean even though technically it’s in a parking lot I could throw a rock off my balcony, and it would land in the water (or on someone’s boat so I won’t be throwing any rocks, ) but that’s how close it is to the water of the harbor and the free buses on the other side and all the activities around the area and again the people who work here I had great experiences with all of them so far.

Location, location, location

They had absolutely zero record of our Booking.com reservation despite my having called and discussed our room two weeks before our check-in date. Ended up with the absolute worst room that we had reserved. (Right above the noisy pool rather than our reserved marina view) Rob, the manager, was especially accommodating in following up with Christina’s helpful assurances that all would be taken care of. And it was! Still, you can only see so many roaches climbing hallway walls and hanging out on your used towels before your family calls it quits. We left a day earlier than planned.

The location is near restaurants, stores, the marina and the beach. For breakfast, you are given some options to choose from. (Not the best options, but there are atleast options to choose from) The pool and jacuzzi is very enjoyable.

Had booked 4 rooms, but we were placed distant apart because they said were fully booked, but I booked weeks ahead so they didn’t make sense to have us separated far from each other. One of the rooms had wet floor which seemed like a leak through the wall. They were able to move that 1 room closer to 1 of the other rooms, and I’m glad it was moved, but I originally thought they couldn’t move us closer together, and rooms were full. Made me think they were lying. Plus place is pretty run down — the room curtains are torn as well as some towels, they ran out of towels, and the decor is really outdated. There aren’t enough staff to run this place. Service was very slow.

The location was great on a holiday weekend where we didn't want to fight traffic. The hot breakfast was convenient and satisfying. We also enjoyed the pool.
