The food was absolutely delicious and made fresh to order. The staff was so welcoming and friendly.

The shower pressure and shower head were terrible, barely enough of a water stream to wet your body, don’t even bother trying to wash your hair.

The proximity to the churches and the rooms and property were clean

The breakfast was absolutely terrible. The same staff that checked us in and ran the property worked the kitchen. They tried twice to make two well done eggs and failed, we gave the eggs to kids on the street. We could not eat the oates and the bread was stale. I requested an airport shuttle and in the confirmation we were advised that there would be no extra charge for the shuttle. At the end of our stay we were charged 600bur. Not a lot of money but the principle is ithe issue. Especially, after they read the confirmation, promised to reimburse us then advised after we left and generously tipped the staff that they would not.

Breakfast was fantastic, they did our washing for free and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

The area has just come out of conflict and there were small problems with water pressure which was fixed immediately

Really loved this hotel. The staff are so friendly and the rooms are clean and large. The mattress is great and makes for a good sleep after a day exploring the churches. Make sure you try their restaurant for dinner - they make an excellent shiro! The hotel also offers a shared airport transfer for 100 ETB.

Tabor hotel is well-located right near the churches in Lalibela. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The restaurant offers a good variety of food and the staff was incredibly helpful. I went on a 3-day trek and they were kind enough to safely keep my luggage while I was gone. I would highly recommend the Tabor Hotel for anyone traveling to Lalibela.

I was not sure of what to expect, but this accommodation met all that was needed. The location is an easy walking distance from 7 of the 12 churches. The staff was very pleasant. The rooms were larger that what was seen online. I ordered a double room, but ended up with a triple (double bed plus twin bed). The rooms are very clean, mattresses comfortable; It is an accommodation that grows on you as your stay increases. The food menu was adequate for a small lodge. The breakfast was not a buffet, but was custom ordered which was very nice. The patio was a great alternative for eating meals. The shuttle was ready and waiting when we arrived at the airport. Shuttle cost was reasonable - 100 birr each way. One had the option of walking to the churches or using the shuttle.
