We were on a girls weekend, and the house was perfectly located, the view was gorgeous and it had everything we needed, plenty of paper products, lots of backup products, books and games, chairs for beach and wagon. We were provided lots of information for local restaurants and things to do. We had an awesome time, and would love to go back! The only suggestion would be to have a little clarification in the description of the parking situation. It was perfectly fine, but a tiny but confusing the first night. Overall, we loved our weekend and made lots awesome memories! Thanks Anne!

Best part about the trip- watching the sunset on the lake sitting on the porch and the Short walk to the beach. The WiFi was spotty but host was responsive to improving it. overall a great place to stay! We have come here two years in a row with four kids and four adults. We enjoyed this house and never felt crowded.

My family and I had a great 5 day stay at this very cute house. The host, Anne, was friendly, easy to contact and accommodating and provided us with clear and easy check-in and check-out instructions. The house is on a bluff and has a nice view of Lake Michigan as well as the gorgeous Michigan sunsets. Being able to hear the waves at night was lovely! The house itself was clean and nicely decorated and we had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed for meal prep. I would love to stay here again.

We always love staying here. It's like a home away from home. Love being so close to the lake and the comfort of the place. So great for cooking and eating and relaxing.

My family, our dog, and our friends stayed here for a short 3 night labor day weekend getaway - a little end of summer hurrah. The house met our needs perfectly. The house was clean and well taken care of. It is a very old home, and quirky like any old home. It has a very odd layout which was unexpected and hard to tell from the pictures. It didn't matter to us, but just something to note. The enclosed back porch was very nice for sitting in the evenings, but it was a hot weekend so it did get quite warm out there during the day. A note for dog owners, the backyard is not fenced on all sides. Also, the yard is shared with the property next door. Again, it was fine for us but something renters should know. There are 27 stairs from the street to the front door, so unloading/reloading your car on move in and departure day involves a lot of stairs. The beach access is a 5 minute walk either direction, but the access to the north at the dead end of the street is easier to access to beach, and has less steps down to the sand. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again because the location is fantastic.

We had a wonderful stay at this home right along Lakeshore Drive in Michiana. The views are spectacular and the house has an amazing screen porch where we enjoyed meals and game night. The beds are comfortable and the owners provide plenty of extra linens . The dining room features a nice long table with benches to encourage meals together with lots of sharing. We appreciate you sharing your spacious home with us!

We had a fabulous family vacation here. Located between two beach areas, each is less than a 10 minute walk. The view of Lake Michigan from the front of the home is majestic- we loved opening the windows and listening to the waves. Staying here felt like being at home, and Anne is a welcoming host. Would definitely stay here again!

My family and I stayed for a week here at Casa Roja and it was amazing! The kitchen had everything you could ever need and the location was INCREDIBLE. Other reviews negatively portrayed the number of steps and distance from the beach. There are 20 total steps and my mother in law, a senior with a heart condition, was able to navigate with no issues. The walk to the beaches (yes, plural) is at most, 5 minutes. The house is also pet friendly, so our dog was able to enjoy the lake as much as we did. We had access to bikes, a Lilly pad, kayaks, tubes and a wagon to carry it all. The only downside is that the house is booked for the week we wanted to go in 2024! Amazing house, amazing location.

We were fortunate to book this lovely house on Lake Michigan for a few days at the end of June. The photos provided accurately reflect the interior of the home. The property is very close to a nice beach where we took walks and lounged and enjoyed the water. The house has a big deck overlooking the lake, which we really enjoyed. The home also features a huge enclosed wrap-around sunroom where we ate some of our meals and relaxed in the oversized, comfortable furniture. The only note we have for owners is the bathroom vent fans and some floors could use a thorough cleaning. We plan to be back soon to enjoy this beautiful house. The photos made it sound like it was waterfront property, but there was a street between the house and water.There were 25 steps up to the house, the photo made it look like about 5 or 6. The screened porch was big, but very dark paneling & floors, and all the windows faced the back of the house, not the lake. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen &, front living room were like a maze and not laid out well as far as bathrooms/bedrooms. It did have a well stocked kitchen & dining room, nice towels, etc., but I could not find one washcloth. Also, because the waves washed out the nearby steps to the beach, we had to walk 1/2 mile to the next set of steps with all if our beach gear . Being seniors, all in all we were disappointed in the house for the price we paid.

No complaints about this place at all, except maybe that the sunsets should last a little longer and we wanted a few more hours in the day to enjoy it. Life may move a little fast on the chicago side of the lake but over here it moves at just the right speed. The lake house has what you need, including plenty of rooms, tables for puzzles and space for naps. We cooked every night (great stove and grill), played loads of games and went for lots of walks. You honestly can’t go wrong.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Anne's place. The kitchen is stocked with most things you would need. Lots of glassware and utensils. We only cooked breakfast but if we stayed longer, I would have loved to cook more. Lots of good pans to use. The home is spacious enough for our group and pups. Plenty of games to play. Nice books and 2 tvs so no overcrowding. We look for to returning to Anne's place. We enjoyed the location and the sunset on the water.

Anne was lovely, having everything open and ready for us, leaving a bottle of wine, and even coming over one time we stupidly locked ourselves out! The property was clean, comfortable, well-appointed, and perfect for our group to both gather and have private space. The views of the lake and the proximity to the beach for walks and admiring the sunset was fantastic. We cooked a lot, but the proximity to necessities (like groceries and Oink's Ice Cream, which is a necessity) was fantastic. We were very impressed and happy and would definitely rent again if we return to the area!

Other than having to access the property from some stairs, the house was spacious and accessible. The screened back room made separation of work, TV time and sleeping easy. The view of Lake Michigan was outstanding. A beach was nearby and easy to access. Overall, the experience was good. We were close to one daughter's home that made her visits, with granddaughters lots of fun. Essentially all the necessary material was provided by the host.

We wanted to be walking distance to the beach and this is it. Lovely, quiet neighborhood. House is just a block from the beach. Check in and check out was easy. Sunroom was usable on all but one day because of the heat.

The scenery was beautiful. Plenty of room for our family and our dog. Ann was a wonderful host and we will definitely return.

Loved sitting on the front deck watching birds and dragonflies! This house offered lots of options to stay cool on hot summer days.

Our family of six humans and two pups ranged in age from 9 months to 76 years old and this waterfront beach house was absolutely perfection for all of us! The setting was exquisite, set up high from the road overlooking Lake Michigan. The glorious front porch featured comfortable seating and a dining table with large umbrella. The back yard was a lovely grassy area, perfect for our two labradoodles to play. And our baby granddaughter had so many wonderful places to play, both inside and out. The layout of the house was ideal for everyone to have their own space when needed. Anne provided a crib for baby Sophia and she had a quiet room in the back of the house for naps. Our adult son who is a confirmed night owl could stay up late and not bother a soul with a secluded bedroom in the front of the house. All in all, the layout is perfect for families or couples traveling together. The kitchen had everything you could possible need and more. My only complaint is that with all the kitchen cookware and utensils, I had no excuse for not cooking! However, we did enjoy some wonderful dinners in the surrounding little towns and often brought carryout out to our front porch - the best view of all. Anne was extremely helpful and hospitable and we felt so comfortable and at ease the entire stay. She even had a blue canvas wagon for taking the baby on walks through the lovely neighborhood and down to the beach. I can't think of a time we have enjoyed a family getaway with options for activities but also the comfort of just being together in such a lovely setting. I know we will return!

The property was an older home with a road running in front of it in between the lake. Enjoyed walking and bike riding on the road. Appreciated our pets were able to stay with us. Lots of stairs up a hill to access the property.

We were looking for a new destination to enjoy for a long weekend and this was exactly what we needed. Plenty of room for 3 couples to relax with a great view of Lake Michigan. Took walks along the beach and explored the neighborhood. Everyone very friendly. Meet the owner next door and her two new pups. The house was clean and well stocked with all we needed. Nearby breweries, wineries and shopping kept our days full of new adventures.

Great house, lovely view! Ann is very responsive. This is a great house for families with kids too. It has a nice separation between front family room and back family room and steps from beach. Bathrooms are redone and have nice showers. All in all fun weekend !

Anne was a generous and responsive hostess. She even managed to order perfect weather for us! The house has everything you need from kitchen items, to linens and towels, to games (indoors and outdoors), to beach toys and supplies, and a great view from the couch or porch. We ate most of our meals in the Adirondack chairs looking at the water and the sunsets. The house is very comfortable and has great spaces for a family to be together or spread out. The neighborhood is peaceful and lovely to walk or ride bikes (there are bikes to use too!) The entrance to the beach is a short walk away making it easy if you forgot something or need to run back to the house for a bathroom break. We will be coming back! Thank you Anne for everything - it was a perfect weekend get away.

The house is in a wonderful location with a lake view and with attentive hosts. Morning walks on Lake Shore Dr., coffee on the deck, a short walk to the beach, grilling in the evening with a glass of wine watching the sunset. A great way to spend time in Michigan.

From the front deck overlooking Lake Michigan to the back family room, this cottage has all offerings for a lovely family gathering. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is extremely well stocked, you will want for nothing. Based upon a recommendation from our host, Anne, we dined one evening at Farino's, and the menu and atmosphere far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend. Anne could not have been a more helpful and attentive host. Highly recommend this property!

The property has beautiful views and provided ample space throughout the home. Anne and her husband were kind and welcoming! The proximity of the beach cannot be matched; literally you walk up the street and you are at your destination. The home was well stocked and all amenities listed were available. We appreciated the space accommodated our three Boston Terriers—the dogs loved the area and being on the beach during allowed hours. I highly recommend you book this property for at least a week to truly enjoy the area-you won’t be sorry! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning! Thank you Anne 🙂

We had an amazing time at this property and the beach. Anne is an awesome host who made sure our stay was fantastic. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the beach chairs, and kayak.
