Overall we loved the house but the. mattresses in the twin bedroom were not comfortable.

Our family stayed for a week. It was the perfect winter getaway from the city. The house is very spacious. My husband and I worked and were able to have zoom meetings while my daughters played in and outside in the beautiful yard. We love to cook and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The property is private and close to Rhinebeck Village (only a mile). Hillary was absolutely wonderful and extremely responsive. Hope to visit again, next time to enjoy the pool in Summer!

We enjoyed our stay in Rhinebeck, the house had all amenities necessary including fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Very comfortable, impressive and interesting decor from around the world. The neighborhood is delightful with a beautiful park and trail system as well as a short walk to downtown Rhinebeck. The library made us want to stay longer to read all of the wonderful books! We'll be back!

The home is lovely with unique and beautiful artwork, yet it was very cozy and warm. It is very clean and the pool was fantastic. So convenient to town. Hilary was a fantastic host, offering suggestions for things to do with the kids. We truly enjoyed it.

The property was way nicer than we expected from the photos. Hillary was a great host and allowed us to stay past our check out time since there was nobody checking in that night.

My family stayed at “the happy house” for a week. Our stay was wonderful. The house had plenty of room for my niece and daughter to resume zoom meetings without making the rest of us tiptoe around. So many quiet relaxing areas both indoor and out! The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, cookware and modern appliances. There is ample seating indoors and out. I sat every morning on the deck with my coffee listening to the birds. The property is private and and spacious. Hillary was easy to work with and responsive. Pool was GREAT!

What a wonderful hideaway minutes from Rhinebeck village. The pool is very private and delightful. Great kitchen for preparing meals to eat out in the deck. Or head into town for some excellent resturants. Hilary was very responsive and friendly. Loved this home

Great stay! Spent a lot of time in house due to awful weather and it was very comfortable and accommodating . We are big fans of the area and the Hudson Valley and would definitely stay here again

We spent a lovely week at this cozy home in Rhinebeck. The house was impeccably clean and a short drive and nice walk from the village of Rhinebeck and all of the shops and restaurants. We spent a lot of time just reading and relaxing in the large and comfy living room which got plenty of great light. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking although we were so close to so many great restaurants it was tempting to do takeout each night. If you do need to work, the WiFi was high speed and well suited for that. Overall, we had a great time and would love to return in the spring when it is warmer and we can enjoy the house’s outdoor amenities.

This was our second stay at The Happy House and we had a great time again! The house is a 2 minute drive from all the shops and restaurants in Rhinebeck and centrally located near tons of other cute towns (Kingston, Saugerties, Red Hook, Hudson - to name just a few). There are 3 large bedrooms upstairs, one has two twin beds which was perfect for my kids to share. There are a ton of kids toys in the home (games, blocks, books, etc), so everyone stayed entertained. The host was very communicative throughout our stay and offered tips on things to do locally. If you visit in the winter, there is a great sledding hill in the backyard next to a treehouse and a slide and the house is 30 minutes from several mountains for skiing/tubing. We hope to come back in the summer so we can check out the pool on the property!

We had a wonderful time away in Hilary's cozy and immaculately clean place. The main room/ kitchen, where you will probably spend most of your time, was very light and open, and we even got to make a fire in the library, which was very special. Our kids loved the slide in the backyard too!

The Happy House is a unique place in a terrific location. Hilary is a terrific host - easy to communicate with and providing helpful suggestions.

Perfectly situated right outside of beautiful Rhinebeck on a tree lined road. It’s the best of both worlds, completely in nature with the amenities just a few minutes away. We loved the huge deck, grill and outdoor dining area - so much so we ate with Jackets on just to enjoy the beauty of the overhanging trees, deer and fresh air. Fun playhouse with a slide for kids and lots of room to run around. The cozy home had a fabulous home office area to work remote and superb WiFi. The rental process was easy and the host is superb and was incredibly helpful and gracious. We can’t wait to be back!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely family vacation home. The location was just about as perfect as it could be--walking distance to Rhinebeck Village, yet still very much away from it all. And it was obvious that the owner, who was super easy to get along with, had lavished much care into making the house into a real retreat. The decor was really beautiful and interesting, but not so fussy as to be uncomfortable. There was a wall of books, lovely old toys, CDs, etc., all of which we were encouraged to use (Hilary even provided a reading recommendation). The kitchen was well appointed and well organized, and we very much enjoyed using the grill. We would happily go back again.

My family and I stayed for 2 weeks in June and had a wonderful time. Such an amazing location, just a mile from town and down the road from wonderful hikes and farm stands. The house is clean and comfortable and there was so many nice sweet spots to curl up with a book. My husband worked in the beautiful study every day and the kids swam in the pool endlessly. I loved the kitchen and it’s cozy eating nook. Whenever we had a question Hilary was very responsive and thoughtful. We loved this happy home and hope to return.

Hilary was a great host and super communicative! Everything was great and we look forward to staying again!

We were delighted with our stay here. The house and grounds were lovely, and the house itself was filled with an eclectic decor and interesting art. Very fun to come home to after touring this beautiful area. Great place for a family gathering. Hillary was a perfect host- available for any questions and provided helpful info on the surroundings. Hilary is a wonderful person who went far and beyond to ensure our comfort. We arrived during a storm and the power went out in the house. Hilary met us at the house to make sure we arrived safely. We were so touched by this gesture and when the power went on later, the house was spotless and just as beautiful as it was in the photos. The area was terrific and close to lovely Hudson Valley towns. The pool was refreshing and we swam every day. I highly recommend Hilary’s Happy House for peace, quiet, and, well, happiness!

Hilary's home is the perfect getaway. She is responsive and accommodating. Her home was the ideal location for us to spend Thanksgiving with our family. With the one-of-a-kind fabulous artwork throughout the home to the incredible sound system, our stay could not have been more perfect. The location was also a 5-minute drive into the village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hilary's in Rhinebeck NY. It is a very cozy, inviting home, with every amenity you could want. The house has a wonderful kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, 3 comfortable bedrooms, and a large family room. The outdoor space is great for swimming and grilling out as well. My only suggestion is that the house could use a larger TV. Also, Hilary is extremely organized with specific instructions on how and where to dispose of garbage, what to do with dirty linen and towels, how to lock the doors and windows, etc. We hope to visit again in the future, and would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who loves the area as we do and is looking for a relaxing, comfortable place to call home for a few days or longer. Comfortable home with many amenities including a pool, outdoor gardens and deck. One of the most interesting homes we have rented among about 20. A large great room, an indoor sunroom, a piano room and a fully equipped kitchen. Easy five minute ride into town. Hilary was very helpful and cordial. Felt we could call on her for anything. Home was clean and well taken care of. One small issue was the rattling of the the air conditioner in one of the bedrooms. Forgot to mention that to Hilary. I’m sure she will look into it. All in all three generations enjoyed the house and each generation found something they favored, the youngest loved the wooden blocks, the oldest enjoyed relaxing in the various gardens and the in-betweens loved everything. Great rental.

Excellent location. A nice, attractive spacious house with all the conveniences we could have wanted. The young folk loved the pool and spent hours in it! Kitchen was well equipped and living areas very comfortable. Hilary couldn't have been more responsive to all queries and requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The house was really lovely and the photos don't quite do it justice. It had everything we could have possibly needed. Hilary was really helpful and available for the whole process. We hope to return soon!

Set on a country road in the Hudson Valley, winding into the charming town of Rhinebeck, NY, my family members and friends found the perfect spot for our get-together. The rooms are spacious, open and airy, with light splashing from tall generous windows. Numerous nooks and crannies offer room for quiet conversation, contemplation, reading from a wide range of books (including a shelf of poems, my fave), gazing out among trees and sky. Art work and colors from different cultures, a piano, a record collection of jazz and blues (among other music genres) radiate the spirit that is Hilary, the owner. Preparing & sharing meals in her gourmet kitchen was a pleasure. In one special room the Goddess of Peace & Love rests in the corner. She follows me home. I look forward to a return.

We have been visiting this home since 2009. Hilary is a wonderful host and has maintained her house in an impeccable fashion giving attention to the smallest details. The house is conviniently located to everything - town center, Vanderbilt Mansion, FDR Mansion, farms etc. we look forward to visiting again next year!!
