What a gem! Incredible views from the street and close access to downtown. We will definitely be coming back to the port hole!

This is a gem of a rental. The care and clever design details that went into what was originally a garage is just a marvel. The unit is very clean, stylish and comfortable. My husband and I had a wonderful stay and wished we could have enjoyed it longer.

This property is such a great find! It’s super convenient to hit up downtown for great food & coffee. And Olympic NP (our reason for going) is only 10 minutes away! The property felt like a home, not a hotel and we will definitely stay here again on our next Washington trip!

This little place was most charming, clean, very comfortable bed, very nicely decorated. Very homey. Wish we could have stayed longer. And a basket of treats, instant oatmeal and a Keurig, and tea. Hope to come back sometime.

The Porthole is a really nicely decorated one bedroom. It has been remodeled & is lovely. It is well equipped in the kitchen & bathroom. Even though it is under the owner’s residence, the occasional footsteps did not bother us. The location is excellent. We highly recommend this unit.

Great property with private enclosed patio, very clean and nicely decorated. We loved being right by the zig zag path down to the port with shops and restaurants. Excellent communications from the owner with all the info we could need. Lots of extra touches including a nice basket of snacks.

Lovely spot to enjoy the national park and sights of Port Angeles. Clean and exactly as represented in their ad. We had a hiccup with checking in and communicating through VRBO, but the host was helpful.

It was clean and cozy. Enjoyed the little extras that were provided. Did hear the upstairs folks but would come back again.

Great place as described

Initially I had booked a hotel stay that was a lofty amount of money for 6 nights before I checked Vrbo. Then I read many of the all 5 star reviews for The Porthole. When I verified that it was available, I booked it immediately, saving hundreds of dollars! Brent & Amy have created a "sailing oasis" in the Porthole that made our stay even more enjoyable. It was large enough for my husband and I, yet intimate and cozy. It's very private, well stocked with all the things you would need, adorably decorated and has a very comfortable king bed. It is THE perfect location to walk into town and walk on to the ferry boat to Victoria, Canada. Brent, Amy & Winnie (the dog) are excellent hosts!

Loved Trough the Porthole. It is a sweet little spot and had all the comforts needed. We appreciate all the small things such as coffee and snacks. Such a wonderful place to stay and within easy walking distance to restaurants a short drive to Olympic National Park entry. We easily drove to Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent and Sol Duc Hot Springs. Clean, cute, cozy and comfortable. Thank you for an amazing stay.

This place is a gem! Quiet, great location and had ALL of the amenities you can think of. We used it as a landing pad as we hiked all over the peninsula. Great location , super clean and comfy. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Others had remarked aboutbthe shower which is powerfully awesome. King bed was very much like our own, and very comfy. Walkable to ferry terminal, and you must walk down the zigzag to the market/cafe immedicately to your left. Excellent salads and to go items!

Loved my stay at the Porthole! Such a cute space and amazing location. I felt very at home during my time there. And the snacks provided were an extra bonus! Very easy to get to groceries, shopping, and restaurants.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing. It truly was restful and we’re thankful for the space provided. It’s nearby all the shops, restaurants, and you could walk to the ferry. Nearby great hiking spots as well.

Super clean, quiet and beautiful neighborhood. I loved the extra touches like providing coffee and some kitchen accsessories. If i come back to town i would definitely stay there again.

This is the second time that we’ve stayed at The Porthole because we loved it so much the first time! Very close to the Olympic National Forest and has an incredible view of the port. Really cool patio area and charming aesthetic.

Great location for exploring the National Park. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Soft bed, excellent water pressure. Super cute!

Very impressed with the exceptional interior design work with very nice art pieces and well chosen color scheme. Liked the unusual touches. Enjoyed the treats in the basket. Will come again if ever in the area.

Overall, the stay was great. Only 4 stars as you can hear those on the floor above you and there was male voice that carried pretty loudly when I was trying to go to sleep. Highly recommend bringing ear plugs. Also, there is body wash provided but no shampoo or conditioner so if you plan on showering, make sure to bring those along. I had to buy from the local general store.

This beautiful location sits above the “zig zag” stairs into downtown Port Angeles at the end of a quiet street. Fabulous for touring around town and/or the Olympic peninsula and walking distance to the Victoria ferry (provided you don’t mind the walk back up the stairs. Many landings to turn around and take in the beautiful water view). Through the “porthole,” the decor is charmingly nautical and comfortable. The hosts live on site and accommodated our needs within minutes. They get a big “thumbs up” from these active “seniors”.

The space was really nice & clean. Only stayed one night as we were on the ferry the next day for Victoria. Meet the owners and they were very hospitable.

The porthole is clean, cosy, and convenient! Amy and Brent made me feel welcome, with tasty snacks and chocolates on the bed when I arrived.

The Porthole was a perfect home base for exploring Port Angeles, Olympic National Park, and ferrying over to Victoria for a day. We stocked the mini-fridge with food for breakfast and pack-able lunches which we picked up at the Safeway a couple blocks away. We couldn’t get up to Hurricane Ridge (no chains for the rental car) but found some great day hikes near Crescent lake and even wound up driving out to Cape Flattery and Ozette where the trails were incredible. The ferry to Victoria was an easy walk from the Porthole, as is the downtown area where we ate dinner most nights. Next Door Gastropub was a particularly good restaurant, and there’s a great little dive bar called the New Moon Craft Tavern which had live music and lots of friendly locals. We grilled pork chops and zucchini one night on the propane grill which also worked great. The Porthole is a well-crafted little place with a private entry under the house where the owners live. It feels more like a house than a hotel room and you can park on the street right outside the door. The number of towels and coffee pods was way more than we could use, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice to have a living room with a couch to enjoy cocktail hour before going to dinner. Overall, we’re very happy we chose to stay at the Porthole and we miss it already.

Nicer than the photos. Though a basement apartment, it was fresh and dry. Stayed 6 nights. Would visit again. Perfect spot for days spent with relatives in town. Also a great home base for the various natural wonders in the area. Winter dining was on the sofa. But summertime meals would be lovely on the small patio in the entryway between the Porthole and the front door.
