Encantador bungalow histórico en el centro de Ridgway. Loved the place. Cute little house right in town, everything was very sufficient for a short stay. Easy walk a few blocks in to town for coffee or dinner. Kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities. Comfortable beds and a great small deck and patio out back for relaxing.

This place was great for our family of five. There was room to spread out. There’s plenty of space for parking and a yard big enough for the kids to play and run around.
Just inside is a modern washer/dryer that worker flawlessly. You enter into a “sun porch” style room and the master bedroom is to the left with a bathroom and the remainder of the house is to the right.
The kitchen is older, but functioned well. There’s not a lot of space to store pantry food and the pan selection is slim. There’s a modern full size fridge-freezer. Oven and stove both worked well. We even used the dishwasher and it too functioned as expected.
The dining room is tight but there is seating for six. One of the bedrooms is off the dining rI’m and the other is off the living room. There’s a light/chandelier That hangs very low in the living room, So if anyone in your party is taller, mind your head.
The only other thing is that the house is not airtight… It is older, Which brings charm and bugs.nothing too scary, just a lot of tree bugs.
The walk in to town is quick and it is very quiet out there minus the highway noise. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

We enjoyed our visit at the Solar Ranch. We enjoyed eating out on the porch. The pictures of the kitchen don’t really show how the kitchen works and it does work well. The house is a wonderful old house that has been nicely updated with energy efficient windows and binds, making this house nice a cozy. A plus is that had fun weavings and interesting art. It would be great to see solar panels on the roof. It is something we are always looking for in a rental. Thank you for a great stay.

Loved our little house. Very comfortable and on a quiet street. Perfect location for day trips to Telluride, Ouray, and Montrose. Went to several hot springs in the area.

We had a great time in Ridgway - and the house was great. The house itself had everything we needed (and more) & was so close to restaurants and shops. The house binder was really helpful in selecting places to eat - Eatery 66 was a clear winner! The property manager was helpful with our questions & getting into the house was a snap. It was perfect for our fall getaway - would definitely come back and stay again. Thanks!

This was our second time staying a week at the Blue Cottage (2021), as we like to call it, and it's just as we remembered. One story, well-equipped--every detail is taken care of. It's a short 5 minute walk into Ridgway and its great restaurants, grocery store and coffee place, not to mention the greenway to Ridgway State Park.
We love the fact that Ridgway is non-touristy and yet in close proximity to everything in the San Juan Mountains! We even drove to Montrose and Black Canyon National Park for a day. Truly a comfy stay and a magical area to visit in the fall.

This was one of the best places we have ever rented. Location was a perfect 1/2 mile or less to the town square and several restaurants and market and a route that leads to a river walk. The layout was great, beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and the fenced backyard was so perfect. Good wifi, great communication, cute touches throughout. What more could you ask for?

We loved this darling home. Came for a family wedding. Perfect for our family of four adults! Lots of privacy and can walk to everything. The host was very accommodating. If we go back to the area we would love to stay in the same home.

I traveled to Telluride, Ouray, & Silverton during the height of leaf peeping season & enjoyed staying in this beautiful home in Ridgway. Easy walk to town, parks, coffee,
etc. Home had all the amenities & we especially loved the patio & deck. We hope to be back during the Ouray Ice Festival.

This was our 3rd or 4th time to stay in this sweet blue cottage. Perfect location to walk anywhere in town & added bonus of only being 3 blocks from our son & family.
Loved having 3 separate bedrooms & especially that the back master BR opens onto the pretty fenced in back yard. We used the grill & enjoyed sitting on the patio & porch. Saw a doe resting in the backyard 2-3 mornings & a buck 4-5 times. Nice sunroom overlooking back yard. Lots of windows. We cooked several meals & had the family over for dinner. Amy, the local host always leaves a welcome note, a vase with flowers & usually a couple of local apples or peaches & a phone #. My only suggestion would be to add a cushy comfortable easy chair &/or a small recliner. We always enjoy our stay here & will definitely be back! 👍👍

House floor plan was very nice with master bedroom & bath on one end and the other 2 bedrooms & 2nd bath on the other end. Kitchen, dining rm., living room, and sunroom were in the middle. There was lots of outdoor space including a porch and a patio. The house had many windows for ventilation and fresh air.

This is an amazing place. We stayed for four nights to explore and photograph the San Juan mountains. Everything was as described and the photos don’t do justice to this place. I only wished we had planned even more time to enjoy the area and the house. Thanks!

This little gem is a quiet and comfy getaway to a beautiful spot in Colorado. The host was excellent to work with, very flexible and responsive and the home met our needs during a work trip to nearby Telluride.

Great house for families
This was our second time staying at the Solar Ranch while visiting family who live in town. This house has a well-equipped kitchen which is key for us since we cook most of our meals. The location is great for walking around town or to the park. The backyard is a nice size for our kids. The house manager is super friendly and communicates well. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Tops in Every Way
We loved our week in the San Juan Mountains with the little Blue Cottage as our home. And it really was a 'home' in every way you want. The house was impeccably cleaned, well-designed, and stocked without clutter. The living room furniture was comfy and not sagging or tattered as in many rentals. Even the beds didn't give us backaches. How many rentals can boast that? We are experienced travelers and the blue cottage is tops on our list of all time favorites. We loved using Ridgway as our home base. More laid back than Ouray and excellent restaurants (and better grocery store.) We loved walking on the river trail to Dennis Weaver Park and Ridgway State Park. Owl's Pass is not far, nor Telluride and the magnificent views of the 5 peaks. (Telluride also has a free public gondola that we highly recommend, even for your pets!)
Cannot recommend the Blue Cottage more. We will return!

I want to move here.
When we initially planned our first trip to this area, we were hoping to stay in Ouray. We're so glad we found this gem in Ridgeway. The town is quieter and less touristy. The beautiful home is walkable to restaurants and shops in Ridgway. The backyard has great views of the mountains and there are plenty of stars above you at night. Amy was very responsive, and she even brought us the sweetest little welcoming gift upon arrival. We sure hope we're lucky enough to stay here again!

Great place to stay if you are wanting to explore the San Juans. Centrally located between Ouray and Telluride so you can take advantage of hiking opportunities all over the range without needing more than a 60ish minute drive.
The house was super cool too and a great location in Ridgway so you can walk to anything you like

We had a fantastic stay in Ridgway at this beautiful rental. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the beds were - better than my tempurpedic at home! Ridgway is the perfect town to stay in western Colorado as it is equal distance from many other towns and hikes. Hope to stay here again.
