Serenity in Surry
In choosing this property, we placed a high value on being near the water. This cottage is situated to maximize one’s enjoyment from sun up to sun down. The views of the bay and mountains of Acadia truly added to the serenity of our time in Surry. The cottage suited us (four adults and one nearly two granddaughter (my son said, “This place has better wifi than I have at home”). The screened-in porch was enjoyed by the early risers and later for our meals. My husband sat reading often at the table on the outside porch. We also had a lovely time on the water with Phil and Donna as they introduced us to the bay and inlets (scrumptious blueberry crumble as part of our tour).
We enjoyed the lovely ride to Ellsworth where we ate (twice) at Serendib and once at Magarita’s. Wonderful ice cream at both Morton’s Moo and Pugnuts. Lots of fun stores to explore there. Last time we were in Maine, we stayed in Tremont, but we now have a new favorite in the Wave Walker cottage and the beautiful Newbury Neck peninsula. Can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful location
This was our second year at the cottage. Our family absolutely loved it!! Phil and Donna are wonderful hosts. The location is perfect, beautiful views, very secluded and serene. We will be back again!
We did a boat charter with Phil and Donna. They did a pirate theme for our son complete with sunken treasure, a map with markers for him to find. Needless to say he was beside himself.

Relaxing and beautiful family-friendly getaway
My family and I could not have asked anything better than this property for our week off before school started in Brooklyn. Staying in Surry was way less crowded than anything on MDI, and we were still within an hour of everything we wanted to see. Sunrises in the morning over the water were so gorgeous, my 8-year-old and I got up at 6 a.m. to see them! We all got really good at skipping rocks at the private beach just one minute walk down the lawn. The fire pit was perfect for smores and snuggling together, and we loved watching the weather come in over the mountains and the water. The house itself was comfortable and had everything we needed, and it was so great to have some toys upstairs in the loft (my 5-year-old especially loved the baby dolls). We saw lots of deer and turkeys around, and it was a great bonus to have the hidden-gem Perry's lobster place right down the street. The owners stayed out of our way, but were very responsive by text when we needed something (like an easy place to get more firewood). Overall, we loved exploring the area and just felt super happy and at peace. My mother-in-law said in the pictures from this trip, we looked more relaxed than we had in 18 months. :) My kids ask when we are going back! Highly recommend.

Beautiful setting beware of fine print
The cabin is very nice and the setting could not be more breathtaking! The Maine coastline is beautiful with bald eagles, starfish, and hummingbirds. The cabin was very well stocked and not far from grocery and other stores. Unfortunately the week did not end as it has started. The owners have an odd request they no lotion or teeth whitening products be used before bed as it will stain their bed linens. We were not told of this beforehand but during our stay noted a folded over piece of paper in the living room notifying us of this. Too late…I use moisturizer on my face each night. The pillow cases and sheets turned orange. I can safely say that I myself have expensive sheets in my home and have never had this problem nor has this ever happened in hotels or other vacation homes. We were billed $145 for 2 sets of sheets that were stained from us using lotion. According to the owners these are expensive sheets and this has already happened 3 other times this summer!! Not my problem but I guess the owners feel it is. So much for my week of relaxation🙁

Beautiful view, quiet, plenty to do
The pictures don’t do the property justice. The view of the bay and MDI, especially at sunrise and dusk is just breath-taking! Our family of five plus my mother loved our time at the cottage. The kitchen was very well equipped, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of space to spread out inside and out. Aside from 3 day trips into Acadia, we spent our time looking up at the stars, building a campfire, looking for starfish at low tide, skipping rocks, and picking blueberries for our pancakes. We caught sight of seals, porpoises, and a bald eagle. In hindsight, we should have rented kayaks - it would have been fun to kayak near the seals. While the cottage is a bit of a distance from Acadia, the beauty, peace and quiet of the location was worth the drive. We also enjoyed Pugnuts for really good gelato and Perry’s for lobster. We had been wanting to visit this part of Maine for years and are so glad we chose to stay at Phil and Donna’s cottage. They were very responsive and kind and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing views...
Communication with the the property manager/owner was easy. Check in was smooth. The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed the Newbury Neck area, including Perry's Seafood and Take-Out just down the road from us. Delicious! It was close enough to Acadia to be convenient, but not too close.
But the real bonus for this property were the views. We enjoyed sitting on the porch each day reading, eating and just watching the wildlife, lobster fishermen and astounding beauty of the location.

Wonderful private cottage with everything
The cottage is very private and has a lovely screened in room facing the ocean so you can get the views and amazing ocean breezes without full sun on you. The house had everything needed for our family of four and was a 20-50 minute drive from all the places we wanted to go. Was truly lovely.

Wonderful property in a beautiful location!
We loved this cottage! It is perfectly situated on a quiet property on the water with fantastic views of Acadia National Park. Easy drive to the park but far enough away that you are not dealing with the crowds. The house had everything we needed. Our son loved the loft! It even had toys, including a whole box of Legos. Phil and Donna were very helpful and responsive. We definitely want to come back.

Mother Daughter Visit
Very lovely stay. We did not have the best weather but made the best of it with side trips each day. We experienced a beautiful full moon, two exceptional sunrises, walks along the shore, and an outside campfire. The cottage was well appointed and we even organized the Tupperware cabinet on one of our rainy days! Thank you for a great week.

Wonderful Home
This property was a perfect getaway for our family. The views were amazing, and it was quiet and peaceful. The kids were able to walk right down to the beach and look for starfish, and we loved sitting around the fire at night and counting shooting stars. Close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia- but far enough away to enjoy the quiet beauty of Maine! We would love to come back to this exact home again someday!

Incredibly Peaceful Getaway
We loved our visit to this wonderful spot. It was everything we had hoped for - gorgeous waterfront, wildlife, quiet. Everything is there at the house that you might need. Check in was so easy. Phil was very communicative prior to our visit, and during a brief power outage we experienced (due to an accident down the road). We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and kayaks. Star gazing at night was amazing as there is very little light pollution. If you want to be within a reasonable distance of Acadia, but not surrounded by tourists...this is your place.

Wonderful week on Newbury Neck
We had a wonderful week at the Wave Walker cottage. The location was great for day trips to Acadia including the Schoodic peninsula and the Blue Hill Peninsula. The home was as described and very comfortable for our family of 4 and our 11 year old loved the loft bedroom. The views of Acadia across the bay were beautiful morning and nite. We loved watching the sunrise and drinking g our coffee from the front porch. Jeff and Donna were very friendly and available to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend

Wonderful Location!
We very much enjoyed our short stay in Surry. The cottage was perfect, had everything we needed, and the view of the mountains was spectacular. We were there in October so leaves were at peak, and we were just in time to order from Perry’s Lobster Shack before they closed for the season. Phil & Donna are great hosts, we hope to visit again.

East coast adventure
The cottage was every thing we expected. The owners live a couple of hundred ft away. They were very helpful and answered any questions we had. The reason for our trip to Maine was for the seafood. We were not disappointed.
Thanks for making our stay very enjoyable.

Classic Maine Location
Spent the week here 0ct20-27, cold weather but foliage was at peak. Wild turkeys and deer everywhere, and no tourist this time of year.
The house has just about all one could need, the wood stove is nice, should leave directions for damper for those that don’t know. Perhaps more wood as well. Got to go to the former Black Hawk zinc mine in Blue Hill, and as a Geologist, loved it.
Bar Harbor and Schoodic Pt. All well within driving distance.
Respectfully,
Jim Tarr

Charming waterfront home
My family of four enjoyed our time at the Wave Walker cottage. The views of the bay and Acadia were amazing! It was an easy 45 minute drive to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Stunning views
We had a great week here. The views & peacefulness that surround you never gets old especially when you come from a busy city. I highly recommend this place. It was clean & perfect for the 6 adults that went. Only recommendation I would have is to have more seating in the living room perhaps. No other complaints here! We greatly enjoyed having a fire in the evenings outside under the stars. The mornings on the porch watching the sunrise was awesome. I will miss this place. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

OUTSTANDING!!!
What a beautiful little corner of the world, secluded yet close to Acadia National Park.
We had wildlife in the yard daily, kayaked in the ocean, went whale watching, explored Light Houses on islands and returned each evening to a peaceful camp fire on a gorgeous property. Thank you so much.

relaxing
I chose this property because of the location and amenities I have been vacationing with my niece for the past 15 years and we love to hike, kayak.and enjoy good food as well as relax by the fire with a spectacular view. Although the weather was very foggy for the most part we got to do all of the above. The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. The enclosed porch was very relaxing from enjoying a cup of morning coffee to sitting down to a nice dinner. We picked fresh blueberries from the meadow and witnessed a bald eagle fly by when we were enjoying our blueberry pancakes from the porch. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and even brought us some fresh baked muffins. There is a nice big lobster pot to cook fresh lobsters. I look forward to visiting this property again.

Best Place we have stayed!
This place looked amazing online and it did not disappoint. The location is second to none. Private beach access. There was not one other person on the beach the entire week. The Kayaks were so much fun. Picked wild blueberries on the property and ate the everyday. Phil and Donna were awesome! They even brought us some muffins from their bed and breakfast a few times throughout the week. The house was perfect for us. Family of 4.

Beautiful views from the cottage. Used as our homebase as we explored Acadia National Park. Cottage had everything we could have needed. Quiet and private
Hosts were great and even brought over homemade blueberry muffins from their adjacent bed and breakfast.

Our stay could not have been any nicer!!!
The only thing lacking was more time to enjoy the absolutely beautiful view. Everything we needed was supplied, the owners were great, scenery out-of-this-world. Very comfortable, especially loved the enclosed porch for our morning coffee.

Perfect!
do not hesitate!
An amazing and well equipped home with private descent to a charming little beach. Amazing views of the ocean and Acadia netional park ,especially at sunrise. The house is very clean and suitable for the family, up to the small detailes. The ride to Acadia is almost an hour long, but the scenery is amazing throughout the trip and the house is worth the distance!
