In the heart of the city, everything in walking distance. If you came by car, the free parking is a real asset.

The couch was not that comfortable. The street is full of light and vivid, which makes sleep a bit more difficult.

Fantastic location, just a few hundred metres from Place de la Comedie, right behind la musée Fabre, so central but quiet. (Well, except that France made the world cup final which caused some excitement!). Everything in the apartment was spotless and it was very comfortable for the three of us.

A couple of bedside tables and another coffee table in the living room would have been handy, otherwise perfect.

The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos and was spotlessly clean. I found the bed very comfortable and the sheets were luxurious. The location was ideal for getting around. It is right behind the Musée Fabre, as advertised. Sophie was so helpful to this poor American. She was patient with my fractured French and went out of her way to help me get into and out of the apartment at the start and end of my three-week stay. She was also always available to answer questions and quickly got the TV back online after I pressed one too many of the wrong buttons on the remote. Two things to note, perhaps, for any Americans who choose to stay in this lovely place—there is a two-wheeled canvas covered shopping cart thingy that you’ll appreciate if you go out to get groceries. The apartment is in a pedestrian only part of town, which is one of its charms. If you are new to older European cities you may not know how much you’ll appreciate having one of these little cart things. I imagine most rental places have these but don’t mention it because European travelers may expect them? And there is a Nespresso machine which makes delicious coffee. The area is lively but not too much so. I enjoyed the street smells and sounds—bits of conversations, babies crying, maybe some music, a little cigarette smoke, someone’s delicious dinner cooking…. It was quiet at night and totally silent when I closed the windows. I found lots of nice places nearby to eat and shop including a small restaurant on the ground floor and a nice épicerie with local wines and gift items for your friends back home. You can see the shop from the living room windows. Absolutely every person I encountered in Montpellier was polite and kind. Oh except for one American who muttered “come on!” under her breath when apparently I didn’t get out of her way fast enough in the street. I’m a very slow moving “senior” citizen and use walking sticks to get around.

I can’t think of a thing! It was perfect and so was Sophie.

If you want to experience Montpellier at its vibrant best look no further than this perfect apartment in the heart of the Old Town. Everything is happening within a short walk from the magnificent door yet it remains quiet and personal - except for the church bell, which tops the atmosphere off. Charming host on hand for our very late arrival. 10s all round.

That we weren’t able to stay longer. Next time!

Perfect location

Location is amazing: right in the heart of Montpellier so that you can explore everything by walking. Plenty of restaurants and shops around or just at walking distance. The apartment is well decorated and the style is nice. Bathroom is new and clean although small. There are all the needed facilities.

No elevator - so be careful if you have many bags. No cots for babies available.

This is great for a couple but not so good for more as this is a loft with no door for bedroom.

I was in Saturday and the city centre can be noisy. The appartment is well insolated by still you can ear the parties. The appartment is a bit small but we were two adults and two small kids so that it was ok and we enjoyed out time.

The owner met us to deliver the keys and show us around the apartment. She was very gracious and helpful in explaining the attractions and restaurants in the area.

There really is nothing negative to say. The apartment has recently been refurbished and is in very good condition. There is AC which is a blessing as the neighborhood is very active and it might be difficult to get to sleep on a busy night. Note there is only one bed and a fold-away couch which could be a little uncomfortable but OK for children.
