Usted se encontrará con un verdadero placer cuando entras por primera vez en nuestro condominio 'Penthouse'. Está en el sexto piso de un edificio de 8 pisos, pero debido a que las unidades finales no tienen nada por encima del patio grande y la exclusividad del patio / balcón de gran tamaño, lo llamamos el "Penthouse". El patio / balcón es uno de los pocos seleccionados que tiene un tamaño muy grande de alrededor de +/- 1,000 pies cuadrados. También está en el lado más deseable del recurso, y la construcción ya que tendrá vistas de El Centro o Downtown PV (y toda la Bahía de Banderas desde el balcón), así como la piscina, etc. de cada ventana! Este complejo es ahora único entre los nuevos centros turísticos modernos y Condominio de que se han construido en los últimos años. This is an amazing property and a lovely resort. We could not have asked for a better place to stay do our trip to Mexico with our whole family. The view from the penthouse and the size of it make hanging out there no problem. We had small children and so spent some time in the unit. The resort is lovely not too large but still with all the resort amenities. The pool is really great, large and a sweet kiddie pool. Would definitely return!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Location is great. The grounds are lush. Pool is fun with volleyball & a cool little “river” connecting to another (warmer) pool. Would stay here again. The owner was very quick to respond when I had questions.

This condo is amazing! The layout is wonderful for a family vacation. The views from every window are beautiful and allow you a view of the ocean. The location makes it easy to get around or just stay at the resort. My mother in law spent an entire day just out on the deck enjoying the views and sound of waves. Highly recommend!

Desperately Needs Deep Cleaning & Maintenance
Let me start by saying that I've hesitated to send this review because it will likely impact this property's nearly perfect reputation. With that said, as a regular VRBO user who relies on the comments posted by other reviewers, I think it's important to be honest about my recent stay. My comments are also prompted by another reviewer from 2018 who had similar issues with the unit, which leads me to believe that even though the owners have been made aware of the problems present, they've been ignored.
I chose this place based on its location, size, amenities, and description in the listing. Booking was easy and Steve was always responsive in his communications. By far, the best thing about our Christmas vacation was the resort of Velas Vallarta! The staff and amenities are exceptional, and my family always felt safe, attended to, and accommodated in every way. Not only were the grounds immaculate and gorgeous, but the pools, restaurants, shops, entertainment, and activities were impressive. Always gracious, the staff went out of their way to greet and serve their guests. If the condo would have been as impressive as the resort itself, it would have been a perfect vacation. On to the condo itself...
On first glance, it is exactly as portrayed in the pictures and is colorful, spacious, and has a fun, local flair to its decor. It doesn't take long, however, to discover that it's been neglected for months, if not years. I can mostly overlook slightly stained furniture and outdated bedding, but when it comes to cleanliness and safety, I have to speak up. If I had thought these issues could have quickly and easily been remedied by the hotel staff, I would have asked. Unfortunately, the problems were well beyond what could have been fixed during our stay. Screen doors were off track, drapes were torn and thread bear, kitchen cabinets, drawers and towels were dirty (some with dried on food), the patio doors don't lock, some of the dresser drawers were broken, the closets were stuffed with other people's belongings, dirty clothes had been left in bathroom cabinets and bedside tables, and the showers were constantly clogging. By far though, and most bothersome, was the sewer smell that emanated from the master bathroom to the rest of the condo and forced us to keep the windows open. With all of that said, I encourage the owners to do some much needed deep cleaning and maintenance on their unit; it really could be a fantastic property.

Patio overlooking the ocean is amazing. Unit needs a bit of updating, but the views and the resort are more than enough. Communication with owner was timely and efficient. Would definitely recommend this unit.

Fantastic property with best view ever!
We have been travelling to PV for almost 20 years and we also own timeshare at the Velas Vallarta. On this occasion we needed extra room and decide to book Steve's property. It was perfect for us plus daughter and 2 granddaughters. Everyone loved it. Obviously the huge balcony and the amazing view speak for themselves. The unit itself is large and comfortable - but we spent most of our time outside or on the resort. We had room to entertain other family on our deck who were staying at another property - they were jealous!
Steve was easy to deal with and answered any questions promptly.
We will definitely rent from Steve again

Incredible view, fantastic property
If you have a family, this resort is one of the very best to stay at.
There are many activities both at the kids club during the day, and activities around the resort both day and night to keep everyone entertained.
Velas staff is amazing, always friendly and asking how things are going. Drink and food service to your chair both at the pool and on the beach cabanas.
The views from this unit on the 6th floor looking out over the ocean, down on the pool, and across to the downtown area will keep you out on the deck for hours appreciating the beautiful landscape and sunsets.
Living area inside the unit is plenty big for 6-8 people to spread out and relax.
Air conditioning works really well, and has controls for each room.
BBQ on deck and full kitchen, if you want to make some of your own food.
The Marina is a great central area to stay, being right near so many great restaurants to walk to, the airport being close, and only twenty minutes from downtown.
Steve is easy to work with and gets back to you timely.
Would most certainly stay at this property again!

Lovely home with killer view!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Steve's home in PV! We have been to PV before, but always stayed in a regular hotel room. Staying in this large condo with plenty of room to spread out but still having all the amenities of the hotel was the best way to go! I travelled with my husband and 2 teen children and we appreciated the privacy and space this home provided. The only downside is that the patio and home were so cozy, we didn't get into the city as many times as in past trips because we loved the view from the rental too much!! We will definitely be back. Steve was great to work with too- he called and checked on us and gave us lots of city tips and hotel information.

Great view, but........
We love the Velas Vallarta! Have been vacationing there for many years and intend to continue as long as we can. The staff at this hotel are amazing!
This is not a penthouse. It is on the 6th floor of an 8 story building. Penthouses are top floor units! We rented this unit, sight unseen, from the pictures posted on the VRBO site. We would never have rented it if we had actually seen the unit. The kitchen and bathrooms are extremely outdated. The marble floors have some awful chips. The closets are dirty and full of junk. Some of the dresser drawers were falling apart, we had to fix them in order to use them. The safe is not usable and a new one is sitting in a box on the floor......the bedding is terrible and dirty.....upholstery on the couches and chairs are stained and dirty...curtains need to be cleaned.....I could go on.....
This whole unit needs a total update and cleaning. Other than the view, it is not worth the price!

This was a perfect choice for our family. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Amazing patio for entertaining. The property was in a great location, and the resort had some good activities when we just wanted to stay on the property. The owner’s were helpful and very prompt with answering questions. Beautiful penthouse at a fabulous resort
We have stayed at the Velas Vallarta many, many times over the past 20 years and have always booked directly through the resort as all inclusive...eating at their restaurants and enjoying drinks and food by the pool plus enjoying restaurants at the Marina and downtown. This was our first time booking independent of the resort and without all inclusive; we did not miss it at all! We BBQ'd on the balcony, cooked in the kitchen and had everything we needed. The accommodations are exactly as shown in the photos, the balcony allows you to experience sunrise and sunset but also escape the heat from the sun while enjoying both. During our stay we had up front seats from the balcony to multiple firework displays from a business conference party on the beach and a couple weddings. One of our guest's enjoyed the 3rd bedroom that has no windows...she stated that she doesn't take naps but that all changed on the 2nd day! Her room was so quiet and dark and she was napping in no time at all! We have always had first class service from the Velas Vallarta staff and this vacation was no different. We will definitly contact Steve again when we are ready for our next get-a-way!

Ocean front / ocean views
Being a rental owner ourselves , Steve was our contact person , transaction was a expected , when we arrive ,there were maintance men working on the unit and the one next door nothing bad . This unit is located on the sixth floor of a 8 story building penthouse would be exaggerating a little bit . The unit is on the end with a lanai ,useable really early in morning or after the sun goes down ,great ocean and sunset views otherwise way to hot , flip flops required , there is a grill out side , table 4 chairs and 4 lounge chairs , The inside of the unit we have to give it a b minus , everything is a little too outdated. Some ceiling fans were working some not , One sqeeky. A C air handler in the main room needs a new fan. Motor really loud . Needs to be attended too,bearing going bad . Two single beds in back room , one queen in other back room , king in the master. Recommend to replace all your bedding poor shape , chairs and blankets had stains ,Kitchen is average condo a little miss match appliances . Floor tiles were chip . The owners have a list of things to do and visit , restaurant reviews the book last updated 2006 it goes with the whole condo needs a up date . The owners have random stuff in all the closet some are completely full , recommend having one single storage For your owners closet. Iron board had no cover on it we did buy one and a iron we found at a later date just so much junk in all the closets. The resort itself is for a family attomsphere , staff friendly and nice , grounds maintained . If you are going to puerto Vallarta with your family I would recommend it , great views just needs a little money sunk into it . Uber rides into town are about 140 pesos.

Excellent!!! Beautiful views and spacious condo!
We absolutely loved our stay here. The views were breathtaking and the condo was extremely spacious for all 6 of us who vacationed here. We spent many afternoons on the large balcony where we BBQed and enjoyed the sunset. Since there is a grocery store nearby we decided to stock up and cook some meals ourselves. The condo has everything you need to feel like you are cooking right at home. Except with a much better view! The resort staff was also wonderful and we enjoyed staying out by the pool as well. Steve was great to work with and we will definitely be back in the future!!!!

Wonderful place, perfect location, beautiful view
My family stayed here for a week in late May. It was simply wonderful! Steve was great to work with from the start, very accommodating, and made the effort to make sure our stay was comfortable. The resort as a whole is beautiful, and this condo has the most spectacular views. There were a couple of items inside the condo that needed fixing/updating, but it did not greatly affect our stay there. The resort is great for kids, with everything from the kiddie pool, play structure, kids' club, and very helpful staff. Upon our return home, we had hardly left the airport and my kids were already asking to go back. We would love to stay there again!

Another Great Week in Mexico!
This was our second year staying in Steve's condo and our fifth year at Velas and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed many nights on the balcony and days at the pool/beach. We love sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise over the mountains and the sunsets at night. Steve is very easy to work with and accommodating.

Best view in Puerto Vallarta!
We were two families with kids ranging from 4-12. When the kids heard about 'iguanas at the resort' the decision was made. And the condo and resort did not dissapoint! From morning coffee on the veranda watching the sunrise, to floating the lazy river with an iguana a foot away, enjoying the gorgeous tropical vegetation and super convenient access to the beach, this vacation was perfect for the adults and kids. Thank you Steve for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

We spent a wonderful weekend with our family in this condo. The unit was clean upon arrival and perfect for our family. Everything was great for our family of 6 and there was enough room for all. The best part was the expansive patio and the wonderful views of the bay of Bandera. The sunsets was so beautiful and the whole family of other relatives who were staying at Velas enjoyed the sunsets at also. It was so beautiful and we will enjoy visiting there next year if we can. Steve is who we worked with and he was terrific. He responded quickly and I loved dealing with him. Next year for sure!

My husband and I and two other couples spent a week in this wonderful condo. It was spacious and had all of the necessities and more. The patio is fabulous--huge, and the views were incredible, both of the town and the ocean in all directions. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to watch the sunsets. Steve, the owner was responsive and great to deal with--he answered questions before and during our stay and checked that we had everything we needed. Velas Vallarta resort is the perfect mix of relaxation and opportunity for many activities. The landscaping is beautiful, the pools are clean and well-maintained, and the cabanas on the beach are a wonderful place to go for peace and a bit of shade. Our only regret is that we wish we'd stayed longer!

My husband and I spent 10 wonderful days at this beautiful, comfortable condo. We felt right at home. The condo was outfitted with everything that you could ask for and the owner who was very accommodating and helpful was responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. The condo and patio was so lovely that we actually had a catered dinner party for 8 out on the balcony. We would not hesitate to rent the condo again except we loved Puerto Vallerta so much we wqant to return for a month and the property does not allow animals, not even service dogs. That is our loss because this condo was really a relaxing dream vacation spot.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely 6th floor penthouse condo at the Velas Vallarta resort! It truly is as described and exactly as the pictures show. There is plenty of room with 3 bedrooms, dining area, living room, and kitchen. The balcony is huge and the view is spectacular, especially when the sun is setting. The owner is great to work with, very responsive, very nice, and genuinely care about ensuring a wonderful stay. I have no hesitation in saying that if and when we visit Puerto Vallarta again, we will be staying at this property. I have added Steve's phone number to my contact list :)
