This house had the perfect layout for families with kids. Kids took over the basement and had plenty of room to spread out. The double decker dock was a big hit. Owner was super-responsive and helpful. Dog friendly and fun neighbors. We had a fantastic stay.

We all enjoyed our stay at the Lake House. The house was supplied with everything we needed. We enjoyed the lake, went on pontoon rides, grilled on the deck, and enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake Hartwell. The owners are easy to contact if needed. They have a great place for family and pets to enjoy! I would highly recommend. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed every moment!

Easy to get ahold of if have any questions, their home is very clean nice and very cozy , loved sitting on dock every night fishing , my dog loved it and was worried because she has never been out of our yard but as us she loved it also , YES WE WILL RENT AGAIN ! Our family had a great time at this lake house! We had plenty of space to suit our needs for adults and kids alike. We all slept comfortably and prepared our meals in the spacious and equipped kitchen. We especially enjoyed access to the lake to fish and paddle around. We spent most of our time playing outside in the yard and ate supper on the downstairs screened in patio. We explored the city of Anderson and enjoyed walking around the downtown shops and our meal at Dolittles. We're glad for our visit and summer memories of Lake Hartwell!

Perfect location with everything you need.

This home is extremely nice - clean, uncluttered but with everything you could need. Nice selection of pots and pans - even a large pot for cooking shrimp. Jon was extremely helpful. Anytime we had a question, he responded quickly. Beds were very comfortable, views spectacular, we had everything we needed. Grandsons totally enjoyed fishing off of your amazing dock. We hope to come back in cooler weather so that we can build a fire in the stone fireplace. My favorite thing was the lovely red all season room. No detail overlooked. Thank you Jon!

Jon is wonderful to work with and communication is fast! Being able to rent the pontoon and bring our pupper dog, along with two living rooms and three bathrooms makes this house just wonderful. This was our second year and we have recommended it to several others.

The McKnight house is only 30 minutes from Clemson, a perfect location for the family to gather before and after graduation with room for everyone and a beautiful view. We found the beds to be comfortable, the kitchen stocked, and especially loved being able to bring our old lab.

We absolutely loved being at the lake and made family memories that will last a lifetime. The house accommodations were wonderful and the fishing was our favorite part.

We had a great stay at Jon’s place. We were in town for the Clemson game. Loved the remoteness of the place and the view of the lake was beautiful. Hope to be back so we can enjoy the water and fishing — weekend was too short for sure ! Teenagers enjoyed catching and releasing fish both nights off the dock. Thank you for opening your home to us. We had a great time.

We thoroughly enjoyed the space and the view from the big windows in the living room and the covered patios. Even though it rained one day, we still had a nice peaceful, and relaxing day.

Had a great experience visiting with the college kids and being able to bring the dogs.

This VRBO was an ideal location for our family to meet up at and we had a great time on the lake and enjoying the evenings on the dock. The alligator Gar and ducks were great to watch as they came into formation every night at 8:45 pm sharp when the green light came on beside the dock! Jon was easy to get ahold when we had questions and check-in was quite simple. Would definitely recommend for a family getaway with the added pleasure of watching our goldens dock diving!

We met up with some extended family to visit before moving our oldest into his Clemson dorm. Location was great! The house is comfortable and had everything we needed! Kitchen is well equipped. We were so happy the property was dog friendly. A/C kept us cool, which was awesome as it was in the high 90's during our stay! Many memories made floating, swimming, fishing and taking our boat out on the lake. Thank you for sharing your home with us Jon!

This is our 2nd time staying at Jon’s place. Is what as relaxing as the 1st time. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are all comfortable. We enjoyed sitting outside by the lake during the day and sitting in the screened porch in the morning, drinking our coffee. The walk down to the lake is an easy one. The fridge downstairs is a great asset. Getting out to do some sight seeing and shopping was a breeze. Anderson isn’t that far and had some great places to eat and get ice cream. Thanks again Jon for allowing us to enjoy this little piece of paradise. You are so fortunate to have your place right on the lake. Looking forward to the next visit….

HAD A REALLY FUN TIME. FISHING FOR THE 7 AND 9 YEAR OLDS WAS FANTASTIC. OF COURSE THEY HAD A CONTEST. PAPA LOST.

We were looking for enough space for our teenage boys, mom, husband, and I to spread out, bring the dog, and have a great time. We found it! Plenty of room, LOVED the screened deck downstairs for coming in from the boat to have lunch, dry off, let the dog dry. Neighbor’s dog came and played too! We rented Jon’s boat as well and enjoyed ourselves very much. Kitchen has had a nice update. The rest of the house could use it, but well priced!!! Thanks Jon for all of your help and great communication, will most likely stay here again!

We had a fantastic weekend on Lake Hartwell! We spent most of our time on the dock or in the water. The dock is easy to access from the backyard and has a great upper deck to lay in the sun. We brought our jet ski and used the boat ramp on the property to put it in the Lake. I especially liked the cove the house is located in. It doesn't have much traffic so you don't have to worry about a ton of boats coming through. We would definitely rent this house again it had plenty of room for our family of 5 plus our lab mix Lincoln. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Jon was super attentive and was so easy to reach. The lake house was GORGEOUS. My family and friends enjoyed it so much. Just an absolute fantastic trip!

You can believe the great reviews. We spent Thanksgiving week at this house and had an amazing time. The owners checked in on us via text and answered our questions promptly. The house was spotless and comfortable. We even cooked Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen and had everything we needed. November in the south can be tricky, but we managed to get our kayaks in the lake almost every day. And between the fire pit down by the water, or the chimenea on the deck - we stayed warm outside. Thanks for a great stay! We'll probably be back in the spring. :)

Our group of friends had a wonderful time at the lake house. It has a beautiful, well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, lots of seating both indoors and out. The almost flat walk to the lake was really nice! Jon was super helpful and answered any texts almost immediately. Thanks for sharing your house!

Two families of 4 shared this VRBO for a long weekend. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well stocked, and we enjoyed cooking, watching football and fishing off the dock. The light in the bottom of the lake to see fish swimming at night was so cool.

My wife and I stayed at the Lakehouse for the 2020 BASSMASTER open. What a house!!! For tournament practice I parked my boat on the dock and ran an extension chord from the receptacle plug on shore. Very convenient ...a short run to all the big spotted bass areas I wanted to fish. The house was well maintained, beds were very comfortable, and appliances great for cooking (We cooked a big ham the first day to have for the rest of the week). When we weren't fishing it was a short drive to the numerous trailheads for hiking with our pups. Clemson Botanical Gardens is 20 mins away!!! Grocery shopping was very close by. Jon was a great host and was very accommodating/responsive. Any questions we had he answered promptly ... we even stayed an extra two days and he made the transaction very smooth. All and All we loved our stay at the lake house and plan to return.

Spent a long weekend with family to enjoy the lake. House was large and open with incredible views of the lake! We spent the afternoons and nights on the dock and in the water. Caught fish from the dock everyday and loved watching all the fish around the neighbors underwater light at night. PS - if you figure out how to catch one of the large bass off the light, let me know how! :) This creek is in a low traffic area, perfect for floating off the dock all day long! Would highly recommend!

We easily found the property, and the check in was just as stated. The property was well stocked such as spices and condiments in the kitchen! We enjoyed the lake and house thoroughly. We had friends and family part of the week and our dog enjoyed his time there. I suggest cleaning out the spider webs on the dock each morning. Also, there are cans of wasp spray at the dock. We brought our center console boat that we did have to remove the top to take it out to open lake as the bridge between is low (just a tip for that type boat). The lake is huge. We visited SC & GA sides of it. During the week was not busy. Friday it picked up and Saturday was active. We will want to visit Lake Hartwell again. Thank you Jon for a lovely experience!

We had a wonderful week at the McKnight's lake house. It is a comfortable and roomy house. There were four of us and my sons were thrilled to have their own rooms and bathrooms. The downstairs area is a comfortable area to hang out, play bumper pool or Wii. There are also a number of board games. The second fridge downstairs was a bonus. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. We were happy there was a blender. Upstairs TV had lots of channels (Showtime & HBO). There is a stereo upstairs, but would suggest bringing your own music device as it was hard to get a station to tune in. There is a TV in the master bedroom that we didn't use. My husband had wished he had brought our Amazon fire TV stick. We loved that there were no stairs and only a gentle slope to get to the dock/lake as it made it easy to run back to the house if we forgot something. We rented Jon's pontoon boat for our entire stay and enjoyed daily explorations to little islands and sunset cruises. Highly recommend! My boys caught catfish from the dock and bass from the boat. There are fishing poles, but need gear. Lots of fun jumping off the dock and floating in the water. There are some floaties to use at the house. The water was warm and so clean. We were pleasantly surprised that there didn't seem to be a lot of bugs (we lived in FL so were prepared!). There were a lot of amazing spider webs on the dock (bug control!!). We used a pole to clear the ones on the dock path. You may want to do this ahead of time before taking kids down there, if that would freak them out. We enjoyed using the Weber charcoal grill to grill chicken, steak, hot dogs and burgers. A few things worth mentioning that we unfortunately didn't end up using are the fire pit area by the dock, a canoe (bring your own life jackets), a chimenea on the upper deck, and a cornhole game (beanbag toss). My only suggestion would be for more comfortable seating in the upstairs outside screened area and deck. There was a comfortable rocker but the rest of it was metal and not so comfy, which I did see on the pictures, so no real surprise. Pictures of the house/space are pretty accurate. Jon was very responsive to messages before and during our stay. Overall, a great stay at a lake house with lots of fun memories made. It was just what our family needed in summer 2020. We will hopefully have our own lake house one day, but would definitely come back to this one! Thanks, Jon and McKnight family!
