Rustic and Sophisticated Accommodation
Esta cabaña rústica y sofisticado se encuentra ubicado en una ladera cerca del río French Broad. Se encuentra en nueve hectáreas privadas aisladas de la casa principal de la perdiz Hill donde viven los propietarios. Perdiz Colina fue una vez propiedad del autor Hamilton Basso quien era un amigo cercano de Thomas Wolfe. This cabin was a wonderful find! It has everything you need and then some! We really enjoyed the mountain views from the porch swing, watching the light change the shapes of the mountains as the sun set. It's close to Brevard and great hiking. We are already planning a return trip!

We were all meeting up to celebrate our Mother’s birthday and have a quick relaxing get away. The cabin was exactly what we needed and were hoping for! As soon as we walked in we loved all the details and charm of a cabin that somehow made you feel like you were home. Close to Brevard and all of the great trails to hike. We are already looking forward to a return visit. The owners were so nice and welcoming. The perfect place for a mountain trip!

We learned about this particular cabin from a write-up in a local magazine and decided that it would be a great spot to get away after a busy holiday season. Partridge Nest and its host, Charlie, made for a great experience! Charlie provided great directions and tips on how best to find the cabin and navigate the turn up to the house. The cabin itself was fully furnished with everything necessary for a winter stay, including all the wood stacked and ready for a fire after hiking all day. The cabin is conveniently located for easy access to Brevard, Asheville and all the restaurants and breweries in the area. We will be back again for another stay!

We will definitely stay here again. We have been coming to Brevard for a couple of years but branched out to stay in a house this time. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. The house was a home that was well stocked and comfortable. It provided anything we could ask for.

The house was tucked away so much so that you felt that you were in the middle of nowhere, but really only a few minutes away from town. Enjoyed the house because of the rustic feel to it and overall layout. Will definitely book again.

We rented the Partridge Nest and took our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children under the age of 7) for a Thanksgiving getaway to the Brevard area for a couple of days. Communication with the Brendles was great and they had the cabin prepped and ready for us upon arrival. Charlie stopped by to show us a few things about the cabin and even made a special trip to bring us some firewood for our stay. We visited downtown Brevard, Asheville, and Pisgah National Forest in our 2-1/2 days there, all of which were very accessible from the property. It was such a lovely place to come home to after very busy days with kids and have a fire and enjoy the views and the quiet. We will definitely be back likely in the summer to enjoy all of the warm weather activity and scenery that Pisgah has to offer. Thank you Charlie and Jean...it was wonderful!

We had a very enjoyable stay. The cabin was very cozy and well maintained and decorated with many antiques throughout. We will definitely stay there again. Beautiful little cabin nestled on a hillside overlooking the French Broad and mountains, just 10min out of Brevard. The inside has been so thoughtfully decorated with love, it feels much more like a nice inn/B&B than a “cabin”. We spent much time on the screen porch, watching the morning mist lift to unveil the hills and mountains, and later seeing the sun drop behind the highest peak. Charlie was very accessible, helpful and friendly. We hope to be back.

Loved our girl’s weekend at this delightful mountain home. The owners have taken great care in giving this mountain retreat a vintage cabin vibe with all of the comforts of home. Screened porch is pretty with a view of the mountains. The owners were welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin. The owner was so accommodating after a one day delay in our arrival date. He was quick to respond and kept me well informed. The cabin was beyond our expectations. It was cozy, spotless and beautifully decorated. Every touch was done with love…from unique and whimsical pieces to a wonderful collection of books to browse through, my particular favorite was the cat book! The location was excellent for trips to Brevard, Hendersonville, Asheville and local waterfall hikes. Everything was perfect! I will going back for sure!!

You can tell as you passed the threshold of the door that someone poured their heart and soul into this house. It is a home, not a house. It is cozy, full of light. The attention to details is amazing. Charles and Jean were wonderful hosts and we loved talking to Charles when he stopped by to say hello one afternoon. We will definitely try to come back. Kids and parents had a relaxing hiking weekend. Thank you so much for letting us borrow this place. Our stay was just too short.

We decided to keep Thanksgiving simple this year, pack a cooler with all the fixins’ and head to the mountains for 5 days. We chose this cabin and are glad we did. It’s a peaceful and quiet location that’s not too far from town as well as the trails we love. Our kids loved it as well and were pretty bummed when it was time to go. We will definitely be back!

This cabin was simply wonderful. It had everything we needed for our weekend getaway. The cabin was beautifully decorated with a rustic flare. The mountain views from the screen porch on the back of the house were stunning. The owner was extremely helpful with making sure we knew where things were in the cabin and initially with our reservation. I have rented quite a few cabins in the Western NC area. This cabin has been my favorite so far. We would definitely stay there again.

We've been coming to this beautiful cabin for several years. The owners, Charlie and Jean, have built an incredible rustic place. The interior design is amazing and creative. We haven't seen anything better. It's our perfect getaway place. The wood-burning fireplace and back porch is great. We don't have a single complaint. We'll be back every year!

We will absolutely be back! The house was so homy and inviting. Since we went mid October, the fall colors were lovely and the fireplace was a great way to end each day. Brevard has a cute little small town feel with great shops and restaurants. We also loved how much hiking was nearby and some incredible waterfalls. The beds were comfy, sheets soft and clean, games, books, and fun antiques around the house. The porchswing was also a big hit. Absolutely worth the visit!

We arrived late night in the rain to this sweet home with all kinds of charm. It is very comfy and cozy and decorated in a classy but rustic style. Wish we could have stayed longer but we will return! Don’t delay, book this private gem of a spot as your home base to explore Brevard and the mountains.

We had a WONDERFUL stay with Charles and Jean! Their cottage in the woods is so private, cute and perfectly decorated! We loved the screened in porch with a view of the mountains. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful view from screened in porch, close to town and also close proximity to many beautiful waterfalls. Very charming, cozy cabin decorated with unique artistic flair! AND we saw a white squirrel, deer and her fawn! ❤️

What a sweet little place! Obviously much loved and taken care of. Personal touches everywhere that really help differentiate it from the usual VRBO. Owners have thought of and provided everything. Super easy access to DuPont State Forest, and to downtown Brevard (we attended several Brevard Music Festival performances). Will definitely stay again!

Most Charming Cabin
My family of 5 had a lovely stay at The Partridge Nest. The cabin is beautifully decorated with personal touches and has outstanding views. It is clean as a whistle and has everything you would need for a mountain visit. The hosts, Jean and Charlie, go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The cabin is very conveniently near the town of Brevard. We certainly will stay here again the next time we are in the area.

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about our stay! The cabin was absolutely perfect and the property owner was great!! The cabin was impeccably clean, well-appointed and absolutely gorgeous. Special place! Don't hesitate!
My husband and I planned a weekend getaway to Partridge Nest and were joined by my sister and her husband. We all absolutely loved this special place! The description of the house and property is very accurate, however you will be pleasantly surprised that there is so much more. The beauty of this place is in the construction, details, and personal touches. The owners have clearly poured their design and hosting expertise throughout the house. There are so many fun and whimsical details in the artwork, books, architecture, and artifacts. We enjoyed cooking in one night and had dinner in downtown Brevard one night. (Don't miss The Square Root!) The kitchen was charming and well equipped, and if you enjoy quirky charm and delightful details, you will love it! The beds, bedding, and pillows were high quality and super comfortable. The layout was perfect for two couples, with a bit of room to spare in the loft. The screened in porch was adorable and bigger than we anticipated, with a lovely porch swing and small dining table for 4. The view of the mountains was gorgeous! We had not expected the view to be so wide - maybe because we visited in winter. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace immensely. The hosts provided starter firewood, but if you love using it like we do, I would suggest bringing some of your own. The little town of Brevard is so inviting and fun to explore, and we especially loved the bookstore and shops. If you like breweries, Oskar Blues is a fun stop just outside of the downtown. Unfortunately, we did not have the pleasure of meeting the hosts in person, as they were traveling out of state at the time. However, Charlie made a point to call us following our visit to say a friendly hello, ask how our weekend was, and thank us for staying. We will definitely be back to the Brevard area and this lovely rental.

The cabin is beautifully decorated and stocked with books, games and kitchen needs. Our family really enjoyed that it was minutes from town and waterfalls too. Highly recommend.
