This large and inviting apartment is exactly as the photos show it to be. We were especially impressed with the expansive deck and pool area that have views of Santiago Bay. Linda, the manager is right on site to take excellent care of you. It was especially helpful when she met us at the airport ! To get such a view there is a long steep hike up the hill from the beach . We found it to be quite the work-out. However taxis are plentiful and easy to catch to bring you back to your private oasis. Hope we will be able to return for a longer stay in the coming years. Thank you so much for making this an enjoyable getaway. Mike and Julie

We spent 2 months at Casita Santiago which is more like a villa than a casita. Though it only has 1 bedroom, it is huge, comfortable and well equipped. It has spectacular views from all its numerous windows. It is possible to see the city as well as the ocean. Sometimes you can see whales breaching. We could hear the waves. The Palapa offers hammocks, chairs, tables and grill and beautiful pool. It is like a 5 star resort but mostly private as there is just one other casita..to share with. The best part of all is Ermalinda, the hostess. She goes above and beyond in all things. She is quick to fix any problem that may occur and a fabulous cook. The hill was a problem for us as it is steep with cobble stones but we solved that problem by using Uber which was fast to respond and cheap. We highly recommend Casita Sandiego and if we return to Manzanillo will book again.

This place is as nice as it looks in the pics. And Ms Linda, who is on site, is most gracious and helpful. Staying in a neighborhood felt more authentic to me than a big resort and shopping in the Santiago market with locals was fun.

We stayed at the Casita Santiago for almost three weeks, late January to mid February, and plan on staying for at least one month next year. The place was lovely, the pool area and palapa were perfect for yoga, workouts, sunning, or just napping in the hammocks. We had the place to ourselves most of the time only sharing it with one other couple (who became great friends) as there are only two units! We walked down the hill every day either to walk on the beach or to catch the #1 bus into town. We did walk back up the hill maybe a half a dozen times but more frequently we took a cab from Manzanillo, if we had supplies to carry, which cost about 40-70 pesos. The casita is in Santiago, on a hill, right where you want to be for peace and quiet and great views. Also it is very centrally located and within easy walking to beach, restaurants and the lovely town of Santiago. The best thing though for us was the hospitality of Linda! She lives is one of the three units that make up the property, helped to build the complex, so she knows everything about it and is so friendly! She was always ready to help with anything we might need or want. She picked us up and took us back to the airport, took us shopping on arrival, offered her car to us, introduced us to tour guides and just was awesome!!! All in all we were delighted with our stay. We are frequent travelers to Mexico but this was our first stay in Manzanillo but will not be our last.

We had a lovely trip to Manzanillo. The pool and cabana area are fabulous and have a wonderful view. The place feels very safe and secure. Linda, the owner's mom, might just be the nicest, most accommodating person I've ever met! She does everything she possibly can to ensure your comfort and happiness.The unit is tastefully done and well-equipped. We had two issues that we got used to. We normally live in a very quiet place and this isn't that quiet because of neighborhood dogs and roosters and general city noise. It does go quiet overnight. The other issue is that to walk down to the beach, if you are so inclined, is a tough trip because it is very steep and uneven. Getting a $2 taxi or using Linda's car for $15/day solved that problem easily! We plan on returning.

Casitas Santiago was a very comfortable place to stay. The apartment had everything we needed and the pool area was a great place to hang out and look at the ocean and the mountains. We're look forward to our next trip.

When I look for a place to stay, I look at the photos and the reviews. Unfortunately, the photos were taken when the complex was brand new, and haven't been updated. There is a now a house blocking the view from this unit. The “excellent ocean views from the bedroom and living room” don't exist. The whole place is in dire need of a spruce-up and good cleaning. Someone needs to go through the condo and throw out old (cracked and gross) kitchen stuff. And stained comforters. People staying in the other condos went out and bought new cooking utensils, pillows and mattress pads. For the price they're charging, one shouldn't have to do this! Also, there was no DVD player or video library as advertised. However .... The pool/palapa area is great. Benito does a good job. And Linda is also great. Anything we needed, she was happy to help. If you're not into walking steep hills, you'll need a car. Miramar Beach (the good beach) is a 15 minute walk from the condo. In my opinion, the place is overpriced. And definitely not a five-star.

This was a fun trip - taking our family of five to Mexico for the first time. We all enjoyed the pool, the beautiful views from the palapa (amazing hammocks)and clean accommodations. The villa was comfortable and we were able to fit all of us with the help of Linda providing extra beds. Having a few more kitchen items like silverware would have been helpful. The blender was awesome - smoothies in the morning, blended cocktails in the afternoon. The walk up the hill is very steep but after a few times you really get the hang of it and was not a problem. We spent lots of time at The Oasis and at the Hostal Olas Altas along with various other restaurants in town. Loved the dogs running around and even a few iguanas crossing the road! Linda was a huge help with directions, advice and she let us rent her car for a day trip to Barra de Navidad. The road side fruit stands were really cool - don't pass them up! She also cooked an outstanding meal for us. The kids played in the waves for hours everyday, the beach was beautiful and overall just had an amazing family time together.

We enjoyed our stay and loved the views from the palapa! The pool was great as well! We did however feel somewhat isolated, and the hill leading to the place was so extremely steep that although we could make it down on foot, we were forced to take a cab to get back up. The living and dining areas were very comfortable with many windows and a wonderful view. The bedroom had a/c, which is a plus with the high humidity. We had the convenience of many kitchen appliances, which included a microwave, 6 burner stove with oven, a blender, and a toaster. A larger variety of cooking utensils such as pots, bowls and oven ware would have been helpful, but Linda was very attentive and provided these as well as extra towels and a can opener when needed. It was nice to be able to call family in Canada even though we had to ask Linda for the cordless phone in order to do this. We were able to take advantage of and enjoy large drinks and beautiful sunsets at the Hostal Olas Atlas down the hill. The Saturday market which was within walking distance had an excellent assortment of everything including veggies. Downtown is approx a 30-40 minute bus ride from the main street, and the beach, where it was possible to rent chairs and umbrellas, is close by.

Amazing!!! We had the best time during our stay at Sean's place!!! We seriously didn't want to leave. Hermelinda, our host at the condo, was super helpful (not to mention a very cool lady). She gave us great tips for the best beaches, markets, restaurants and wine store. Leave your travel book at home. The condo itself was spacious and very comfortable. The best part though was the view of the ocean and beaches. We would start our mornings and end our evenings with a glass of wine from the deck watching the sunset and then go for an evening swim. The beach is a hop and a skip from the top of the hill and just listen to Hermelinda where to go. Manzanillo beaches were great and definitely are already planning to go back. I would absolutely stay at Sean's place again!!!

Espectacular vista!! Atención de primera. La pasamos increible. Todo esta super limpio. Por la noche se escucha el mar y es super relajante. Durante el dia ni se necesita el AC ya que la brisa del mar entra por las ventanas de enfrente y por la noche la brisa de las montañas refresca la unidad. La mejor vista de Santiago desde la Palapa y alberca con vista al mar. Regresaremos pronto!

View was great from the pool deck, you can hop in the pool for a quick dip and just relax Linda ( owners mother who lives on site). picked us up at the airport showed us where to shop and hints of where to eat We had arranged ahead for her to cook us dinner upon arrival and it was excellent She speaks both Spanish and English is is very helpful from taking you on tours to general information You are close to a beautiful beach with restaurant and umbrellas The local market is very close where you can buy fresh produce and great fish It's a bit of a walk back up the long hilly road but you can take a taxi next to nothing Place is kept very clean

My first time to Mexico, found these accommodations by searching Bed & Breakfast in Manzanillo. Fantastic stay, exclusive and safe. At first arrival I was truly amazed at the architecture, concrete being the primary building material. The effort to be at the "top of the mountain" says it all. There is no wonder the booking is mostly solid durig peak season. The panoramic view from your private viewpoint cannot be captured in many other places. My Eco-Tour via local SUV rental traveling about the region consumed most of my leisure time. Mostly I arrived to and from near dusk. The other couple staying in the upper building were great people as well as the land owners. We all spoke english and that was a relief, no language barrier. Their two small dogs were good pets, well trained and friendly, the kind of pets that you want around as they seem to be always on guard as with others dogs are kept mainly for security. My overall feeling that we were very safe everywhere we went, even at night, stay in the crowd. Police and military patrols in the city and back roads were frequent enough, all was good. I would suggest if you venture off the tourist path as I did that you arrange to have a local accompany you to translate and be your "wing person". Others have said it all about these accommodations I cannot add much more other than this is not your typical expectations of a B & B more like renting a condo for a week, the owners are always there for you from beginning the end of your adventure, super accommodating considering my last minute booking with them, worked out just fine. These accommodations are definitely on par with others, cost wise CND funds vs. US almost 20% added cost, to be considered by most the rate is paid in US funds. A larger group would have helped offset the cost. Would I be back, YES! Cheers,

We have stayed in different places in Manzanillo on five occasions. This was the nicest vacation property we have had the pleasure to enjoy. The outdoor spaces are superb; the casita is beautiful and spacious. Our hostess was lovely, attentive, and always asking about our comfort. The property is kept remarkably clean. We enjoyed cooking on the 6 burner gas stove. There is a barbeque, although we didn't use it. The climb up the hill to the property is a bit of a work-out, but the view is worth it. Cab fare is economical, if you don't want to walk. The location in the Santiago Hills is one of its nicest features. We have enjoyed views from the Santiago Peninsula before, but being above the village provided more expansive views, including the neighboring hillsides and homes. We could hear the school bells and the bread delivery man, calling as he arrived in the afternoon. If you want to experience more of an authentic Mexican (upscale) home, this place is not to be missed!
