We had previously stayed at this property in 2013 and enjoyed the location and amenities available for family fun. We were thoroughly disappointed with our decision to return to this home. The ‘family friendly’ games were no longer there (there seemed to be a 500 piece puzzle in a ziplock bag, bottom of a storage cube and master bedroom closet - at least the empty puzzle box was a 500 pc). The tv didn’t work the whole time we were there (as the direct tv dish pole had rusted through at the ground and was laying in the grass) our daughter and grandkids left 3 days early as there was nothing to do when the weather didn’t allow beach or pool. We had to clean the kitchen (stove top, counters and dishes) before we used it - there was old food in the silverware drawer. The house didn’t seem like it had been well taken care of in the 8 years since we had been there. The dryer had a piece of romex used as a handle to open the door, the screen room around the pool was so torn up that it let all the bugs in, and the grass around the property was severely overgrown (kids couldn’t play in the yard - when we asked about the grass, we were told the weather was making it difficult - although all the other houses on the street had no problem with their lawn service) We were extremely disappointed and will definitely choose another rental when we return.

I would like to start by saying I don't leave reviews ever and am pretty easy to satisfy. However, this experience calls for a review. My group consisted of myself, my fiancé, my best friend, and his fiancé which was told to the owner when booked. Every home I have stayed at allows for an early check in, while this owner did not. Once we were finally able to get into the house via a key under the door mat (there was no lockbox with a code) which seemed kind of janky. The house still had sand on most of the floors and in the pool. The house felt very hot that is because the AC can only be set to 75 but hey good thing there's fans right? The back screened in area seemed like a nice idea besides the screen being torn in MULTPULE areas resulting in being eaten alive by bugs at night. Also, pay attention the posted notes everywhere regarding various tasks for example, "Don't overtighten the shower valves". This makes it seem like a trip to a grandparents house rather than vacation. As mentioned we had two couples so one slept in the master and the other did not like the queen mattress after sleeping on it, so they used the twin beds. Finally, the pull out was occasionally used for naps. After check out I was contacted by the owner saying all 8 sleeping spaces were used and I would be charged an extra 15.5% or $280 because I had "extra guests and this was evident through used sleeping spaces". When responding to the owner respectfully telling her I did not break the rules and saying I was unaware when you rent a house that you are unable to use all sleeping areas, I received no response. When sending her another message, I received no response AGAIN. I was also charged this extra fee with no contact from owner. All of these reasons is why this house deserves the one star review and to be my least favorite house I have stayed at ever.

The good: Carolyn was easy to communicate with and responded quickly. The inside of the house was very clean and worked well for our family. The location was also great!!! Being able to park in the garage was a bonus! The neighborhood is nice and quiet- great for a family vacation. The beach is just down the street, which was very nice. The not so good: The outside needs some TLC. The pool area could use a good cleaning and the yard is in need of care. The house would not cool below 80* during the day even after following suggestions from Carolyn . The pool pump was not working well while we were there, unfortunately the part did not come to fix it until the day before we left, so the pool was not being filtered correctly. We had to work to skim the pool, but the things they had available had large holes in them making it challenging. While I understand that it was out of the homeowners control, paying full price when the pool and air were subpar Is disappointing.

It’s a great place. Loved the pool. The walk to the beach was about 4 minutes, so no complaints there. Had a garage that we could park in. The pool area could stand a pressure washing, but the pool itself was super clean. Quiet neighborhood. Would stay there again. My only issue was the internet was kinda slow. That’s if I HAD to find a complaint. Carolyn was super helpful and timely in her responses.

Perfect house for family - quiet neighborhood, half block from ocean, plenty of room. AC doesn’t keep the house extremely cool but doable after the first day of being there. Pool area could be a little cleaner but we loved the pool! Definitely would come back.

The house itself was very clean. The outside not as much. The grounds were not maintained on a timely basis - the weeds were close to a foot high at times! The pool area is very dated and really needs an upgrade. For the monthly rental paid, and the little difference in cost, the TV package should have been the highest category, not the lowest (particularly since we offered to pay the difference).

Had a wonderful time. Garage was a plus for the bikes and loved the pool area to sit and listen to the ocean. Great and quite neighborhood.

It was ok

We had a great time. Great location, loved the pool. We wish we could have lowered the air and had better water pressure in master bath. We would have liked to have had a door to the master bathroom.
