Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed this vacation getaway! We cannot say enough good things about this rental! The home is stocked with everything you might need and with so many activities to enjoy! There is plenty for people of all ages; parents of younger children could come and not have to bring anything to do! Their lakefront yard is so spacious. Steve and his wife were excellent with immediate communication and with accommodating us... we even appreciated the fishing tips! ;) And the fenced-in yard on the lakeside was perfect for bringing our furry friend! We absolutely loved our stay!!

Property as described. Clean, very accomodating. Everything you need and then some. Would go back but we never go to same place. Do this every year.

This is our third stay at this lake house. We love it and it just feels like home now. We'll definitely be back. Thanks again!

Very nice place to stay!

The Hub was more fun than we ever imagined! The owners provide everything you need to have a great time! The kayaks were a blast and the water was beautiful! Also the beds were very comfortable! My whole family wants to go back again!

We had a blast enjoying all the amenities and entertainment this place had to offer! The home is exactly as pictured, super charming throw back/vintage experience. The owners were very responsive, and everything you'd want to know about the area and home was posted up. Only complaint would be the age / nature of mattresses, they are quite springy. Stayed with my husband, pup, elderly mom and dad. We loved the sunsets, kayaks, shuffleboard and peaceful nature of the backyard. Everything was very clean. Close to everything you need and more! Would definitely consider returning.

Our family just returned from a week stay at the “Cub Inn. We are so happy with our stay. The communication with the owners was incredible, they far exceed the standard expectations with the rental in all aspects. The small touches and amenities were noticed and very much appreciated. We had a diverse age group, and there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. We especially appreciated the kayaks, paddle boards, and all the “extras” stocked at the cottage. From games, to cards, movies, and outdoor activities, they have truly put care and consideration into this rental property. No matter what we were looking for, we seemed to have, they’ve got everything covered. We would definitely stay again, and recommend to friends and family in the future. Thanks for the memories!

We stayed for the weekend and the only thing we needed was food. They have everything for a great time, it is stocked with water toys, games, even bikes for you to use. Owners were so easy to work with, looking forward to staying here again!

We enjoyed our stay at The Cub Inn very much. It’s a nice little piece of heaven. Even though there are neighbors it is very peaceful. We will definitely be back.

This is our second year at this fabulous rental, and we plan to make it an annual destination. The owners are wonderful to deal with and think of everything. They update every year, so pictures don’t do it justice. We feel so fortunate to have found the Cub Inn!!

We have spent many weeks at Houghton Lake in years past! There were so many things provided by our hosts. Kayaks, sand toys, bikes, fishing poles, outdoor games, videos, books. Adults and children we all enjoyed ourselves. With so much provided by our hosts all we had to do was play like the kids and have fun!

Had a wonderful week. Beautiful weather, a great property. Had campfires every night. The two little dogs next-door were barking continuously when they were outside, was a little distracting. Everything else was perfect!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was well stocked, the owner was very helpful, and the view/lake was beautiful! We especially enjoyed using the kayaks/SUP each day.

We had a great time with the grandkids. The house was super clean and stocked with games and things to do- they think of everything! Lakefront was fantastic, it was just an easy vacation watching the kids play in water. Owners were great. A lot of good memories were made!

We wanted a small house on Houghton Lake for three nights. This one was perfect! So retro it was fun, funky and definitely different. Super clean, well stocked, warm, comfy and convenient! Would definitely stay again!

Different review since I was unable to go last minute, but my buddies went and gave a great report. They told me it was clean, warm and everything was as expected so I was happy to hear that since I was the one who chose the house. Communication with the owner Steve was excellent and he answered all of my questions very quickly. The guys had a great stay and said they would stay there again in the future.

Our four day stay couldn't have been better. The location is outstanding and being on the lake was such an enjoyable experience. The cabin is immaculate and the owners are such wonderful people and their communication was timely and accurate. I wouldn't hesitate at any time to rent the "Cub Inn" again. Thank You !!!

Loved this place! The backyard on the water was amazing, especially with the fenced yard for the dogs. Our hosts were absolutely fabulous...really nice!! Loved all the stuff to do...kayaks, shuffleboard, fire pit, etc. Convenient to awesome pizza and a grocery store. Would definitely rent this place again!
