Our hosts were very very very nice and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. Food was great and freshly home cooked.

Lovely and welcoming people who took good care of us and pampered us with home made drinks. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

(*) Got contacted online by the daughter, who doesn't live there, in a very helpful and friendly manner, advising on which road to take in the village, etc. Speaks excellent EN. (*) The grandparents, who live at the place, do not speak anything much but Romanian, but are extremely helpful and over-charming and, like often in Romania, seem to be able to communicate with you effortlessly without sharing a language. Pointing out and stuff. Works well. (*) If you are lucky enough the little granddaughter is staying over, she speaks more than workable German; (*) Your car can be placed inside the property (although I wondered why it was even necessary - small village); (*) Large bedroom with a good bed and much much space to put your things. (*) Living room with a large circular table and chairs, excellent for breakkie and especially for working. Also has a large armchair. Has a place with water cooker and coffee/tea. Hadbought lots of stuff from the fridge compartment of the supermarket and noted there was no fridge, so was prepared to toss it all out, but upon returning from the 1st day excursion, the folks had already noticed and had brought in a fridge - very considerate people; (*) Excellent large bathroom. (*) Your mobile phone connection (especially for you folks in the EU) might not work well up there in the country side, but the Wi-Fi was reliable and excellent all through the 3 evenings. (*) Not only does the village of Mălâncrav have an excellent fortified church, but I would certainly recommend a loop from Laslea (Sighișoara-Sibiu road) down via Mălâncrav to the Sibiu - Brașov road, next visit the exquisite town of Făgăraș (plus Cincşor), and next get back up to the Sighisoara-Sibiu road via Viscri (tip of the host. Excellent tip), Criț and Saschiz. Is one long day. On top of this, you will want to visit the nearby Biertan, and you need exactly one full day for lovely Sighișoara, which is about 30' drive away...

no complaints whatsoever. The very street you are staying in is one big pothole, but hey, Romania is a bizarre mix of excellent roads abruptly ending in a pothole, anywhere. Don't talk to them about it, or you will get an hour exposé about corruption :-) No, seriously, this is an excellent base to stay, and a 3-day stay (1d Sighișoara, 1d direction Făgăraș, 1d picking up what is left) is recommended. Actually, recommended together with using both Sibiu and Brașov for 3d stays as well....
