A very nice room. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. What is a huge plus is that the room was really warm (I have been to many rooms where it was impossible to move around the room without clothes because it was too cold). Here I could take a shower and take my clothes in no rush, because the temperature in the room was really great. I consider the possibility of regulating the temperature in the room to be a great advantage. Wi-Fi fast, working smoothly. Close to the metro and grocery stores. The hotel staff was very nice. I was here in 2020, now I was in 2021 and will be arriving in 2022. It didn't feel like a hotel room, but like a room in my own apartment. I would highly recommend !

Zhayvir is a budget hotel so it would be easy to pick on aspects that were not so good but, in truth, Zhayvir is perfect for the single traveller who is going to spend most of the day out travelling the sights. During my 18 days in Kyiv I intended to spread myself around three different hotels, in different areas. But, Zhayvir was perfect and the Kyiv Metro is also so good, it doesn't really matter where you are based. So I stayed. Initially, I was on the top floor but the stairs played havoc on my ageing knees so, at the end of the first week a room on the first floor became available - and I moved in there. The lower rooms are slightly more expensive and my new room didn't have a fridge. But beyond the fridge the two rooms were identical. When I was on the first floor I used the communal fridge by reception. Each en-suite room has a TV (which I never used), a kettle (which I used every day), a good sized desk, a wardrobe and a good heater. And the windows opened (so make sure the kids don't mess with them!) - but I liked the fact I could get some fresh air in each day. The beds were comfortable and I was always warm enough (I was there Nov/Dec). There's also a small table and adequate plug sockets. There is a security guard at the main door, you can come in an out anytime. The front desk staff were all lovely even though only little English was spoken (but this was to be expected). The hotel is approx 9 mins walk from Sviatoshyn Metro station, about 5 mins walk from an excellent (normal) pub (drink the Sviatoshyn beer - it's lovely!) - I can't tell you the name but I'll attach a photo of their card, even closer to 3 decent supermarkets (where I bought 75 percent of all my food) and close to 2 kebab stalls (I'd have one most nights). There is also a taxi point en-route to the underpass to get to the pub! There is also a very good lady seamstress between the Novus supermarket and the Sviatoshyn station.

There are three things I suppose I should mention. There isn't much they can do about the lack of a lift but I was a bit concerned that the fire escape doors (opposite end of the passageways) were locked. However, I decided that in an emergency I could kick them open quite easily! It's also possible there is an auto-release for these doors - I don't know. The hot water was a bit vague and, intermittently, the shower units didn't drain very well. Who ever designed these rooms clearly never stayed in one! The brilliant, long desk is at the end of the bed, leaving a rather slim route between the two - and I kept smashing my ankles on the bed as I was trying to get from one side of the bed to the other. These are all minor things. Oh yeah, the cost of laundry (done by an outside company) was extortionate (and I never used them). This hotel wouldn't suite my wife but, as I've said, for the single, adventurous traveller it is excellent and I would be more than happy to return. I went to Chornobyl (note correct spelling!), visited churches, went to the Jellyfish Museum (as well as a bunch of others) and spent 2 days in the Natural History Museum. I travelled the Metro (found ammonites, fantastic artwork and Lisova market), I went to the Zoo and the Chornobyl Museum. In fact, I only had one day (out of my 18) where I wasn't busy every day. I also drank a lot of different beers (at different places and at varying prices) but, strangely, the best one was the local Sviatoshyn one I've already mentioned! Planetarium was rubbish and the Tunnel Tour was pretty average. The Chornobyl tour was good (I went with CHERNOBYL TOUR - but if I went again I wouldn't bother renting the Geiger counter!). I was hoping to travel by train to a couple of surrounding towns but after a visit to the main railway stations (where NO ONE spoke English and EVERYTHING was written in Cyrillic) - I gave up on that idea!

To be honest some workers were really kind and sincere even when you look at them u can get good energy but few of them not that much sincere and friendly sorry but its what i felt anyway .thank you for all .

No elevator. Difficult to lift up with bags.

The room was not like the picture on the website. In real it looked old and dirty. The shower drain was clogged. In the corners was a lot of dust. The bed was too old and not comfortable.

The hotel is situated in a very nice neighborhood. There are plenty of bazaars right next door, supermarkets, pharmacies, bus stops, restaurants, McDonald's and much more. Very quiet neighborhood - you can relax in peace. Overall, I didn't have to walk more than 500 meters if I needed to buy anything. The staff is very nice and speaks English what is very useful. I was renting a single room - a very nice, cozy room, fully equipped. Clean and nice. What can I say more ... I am very pleased with my stay here and when I come back in six months (to Ukraine) I will come here againforsure! I am very pleased, I recommend it.

Location and price and the staff were helpful and pleasant. And there was a kettle and small fridge in my room, ensuring I could get a cup of tea without getting dressed. :-)
