Pretty much agree with all other reviewers: very clean, comfortable, everything one needs to instantly feel this is a ‘home away from home’. There is a super porch with some direct views of the water and it is in a quiet friendly neighborhood within walking distance to town. Christine was very easy to communicate with. This booking and stay was one of the best of our many years of renting vacation homes. We will definitely be returning!

My husband and two young kids and I came for a vacation from Brooklyn, and had a great time here. The house is spotlessly clean and comfortable and just a few steps from a small sandy beach. The kids played in the yard and swam, we grilled and cooked in the well equipped kitchen, took trips into town—had plenty to do and enjoyed a very comfortable stay! The host, Christine, was responsive and kind, and the house was exactly as it appeared in the listing.

This home is undoubtedly one of the best places we have ever stayed. It was spotless clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We would live there permanently if we could as it is very comfortable and homey. It’s location couldn’t be better. The beach is only steps away and the neighborhood is quiet and well taken care of. The location to town is such a short distance that one could walk if you wanted. The owners are very responsive to questions and even brought us a grill for our outside enjoyment. We highly recommend this lovely home!!

My family and I traveled from New York State to stay at this lovely home for a week. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. I enjoy cooking and the kitchen had everything necessary to put a seafood meal on the table. The beds were comfortable and this home was just right. We enjoyed the proximity to downtown Rockland and the surrounding towns. My family and I have been coming to mid-coast Maine for a few years and are familiar with McLoons, Jess’s Market, Primo, the Breakwater, Birch Point State Park and it was so nice to be back in the area. I didn’t want to leave and look forward to returning in the near future. Many thanks.

We enjoyed our week in Owls Head. The location of the property is great. Everything in the house was very clean, up to date and comfortable. Christine seems to have thought of anything one might need for a rental. It’s very convenient to Rockland and practically on the water with views from the porch and many rooms. It was a most relaxing week and we would certainly return.

This home was sparkling clean, well located, and quiet. Communication with the owner was excellent. The kitchen had all the dishes/cookware we needed, and the washer/dryer on premises were so helpful. From this house, you can walk to a little beach at the end of the street. It’s also a quick drive to town and another beach that we loved. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed being here. Location is excellent - close to Rockland and destination restaurant Primo. Owner was thoughtful and communicative.

The property was very clean and well-equipped. Recently remodelled bathrooms with good showers. Decks at both front and rear and a gas grill provided. Portable AC units were also appreciated, though the one in the bedroom was quite noisy. Close to a small beach and within 20 minutes walk to the town center. Walking distance to Primo restaurant serving the most fantastic food! Also, close to Owl's Head State Park, which has a nice quiet pebble beach.

This was our second stay at Ocean Avenue Beach House. We enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The house is charming with lovely water views and is exceptionally clean. The location in a quiet neighborhood is superb with walking distance to Rockland and easy access to Route 1. Booking the week with Christine was an easy process. At the house, Christine left plenty of contact info in case we needed anything. Because the house is so well maintained and organized we did not need to contact her for anything. Looking forward to our third stay!

The house was adorable. Bright and sunny. It was extremely clean. We appreciated all the extra Covid precautions that were in place such as tissue boxes, disinfecting wipes and sprays. Great water views from the dining room, porch and bedrooms. Fabulous location: easy walking distance to Rockland, and quick access to Route 1 North and South for traveling around the MidCoast. Christine was easy to contact and quick to respond to the few questions that we had. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning.

This property was great - however, I suffer from allergies and the house has carpet everywhere and older furniture. Luckily I had packed allergy meds and Mother Nature blessed is with wonderful weather. There is a little cove just yards from the house. I wish I had brought sand chairs as it was a lovely spot where to begin or end the day.

Cozy home in a perfect location- one beach is steps away and very convenient for little kids! The house is within a 5-minute drive to many restaurants . My favorite beach was Birch Point State Park - absolutely stunning and a giant tidepool full of crabs to the delight of my boys.

I would definitely recommend this beautiful home for a comfortable and accommodating experience. I would love to stay again next year.

This home was perfectly situated between the water and downtown! Extremely clean and comfortable, loved using the grill to cook fresh seafood, and would recommend anyone visiting to stay here.

The cozy clean Owls Head cottage was just right for our family of three. Central to the Eastern Coast of Maine it was the perfect base camp for our explorations from Bar Harbor to Old Orchard.

We had a great experience. A really appreciated the central location of this house.

We had another fantastic week at 16 Ocean Avenue! This was our second year in a row renting this location, and we once again could not be happier. The house is super clean, and has everything you need. Christine is an excellent communicator, and always replies promptly. The proximity to Rockland is very beneficial, it is very easy to get downtown to restaurants, museums, etc. The private beach at the end of the street is a great place to start your day as well as end your day.

The owners did a great job when they remodeled. Lots of neat extras like cabinets that close automatically. I appreciated the gas grill and 2 sets of washer/dryers. You gave 2 different porches so you can choose sun or shade. Mattress in master is super comfortable. The view of the bay from the porch is amazing. The real only downside was the noisy demolition starting before 7am every day, even Saturdays , at the new technical school a block away. The ownes are only a text or call away. Very friendly and helpful.

This property was near perfection. I can say very little that hasn't already been said by others in their reviews. The neighborhood is a nice quiet area close enough to downtown Rockland to walk if you wish to do so. It has been remodeled very well and has all the amenities you could want or need. You are centrally located in the mid-Coast Region of Maine and there are literally dozens of places nearby to experience- scenic drives, small town shopping, art museums and galleries, great restaurants and a plethora of nearby lighthouses including Rockland Breakwater LH which can be viewed right from the side porch of the house. Christine answers any questions or needs extremely quickly but is not intrusive. I would definitely rent again if I return to this area.

This house was more than a house, it was a home for 7 days. It has everything you would have at home and was beautifully decorated. The living room had very comfortable seating for all four of us and was a great place to relax before crashing after a long day. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Bedrooms were great. I (we) highly recommend Christine's Ocean Avenue home in Owls Head. It was a perfect place to spend a week in Maine. It is definitely a five star home.

My friend and I stayed here while taking a workshop in Rockland. The house was minutes from downtown and all of the restaurants and a great museum that features the Wyeths! The house has been completely refurbished inside with beautiful moldings and even has plinth blocks around the doors. My carpenter husband would have been impressed with the craftsmanship! You will feel at home and hate to leave this lovely home.

This location is in great proximity to downtown Rockland and all that it has to offer. The house was very clean, and has everything you need. Christine, the owner, is very prompt and quick to respond with any questions or needs. It's just one house away from a private beach which is very nice in the morning and dusk. It's very peaceful, as it is on a dead end street. It's also about a five minute drive to the state beach.

Great location for walking into Rockland or down to the harbor front. House was sparkling clean and had a very nice master bedroom with a portable AC, whch can come in handy on a hot sticky day even in Maine.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was refinished well and very clean. Kitchen was well stocked and owner was very helpful. The beach was close and we enjoyed looking for shells and sea glass. Neighbors were friendly and very helpful.

Comfortable newly renovated older home with character conveniently located between Downtown Rockland and the Owls Head lighthouse. Very conscientious and responsive owner.

I was lucky to find this beautiful house in Owls Head for an off-season getaway. It's just a few steps from the water, located in a nice quiet neighborhood, and also very near the fabulous town of Rockland - so much to see and do! The interior of the home has just been completely renovated, and everything is fresh, bright, and impeccably clean. It's perfectly furnished and equipped with everything you need, yet not too frilly or overdone. The upstairs has 2 spacious bedrooms and a very large modern bathroom (with another full bath downstairs). Beds are very comfortable! Christine was gracious and helpful, while very respectful of guests' privacy. This place is just wonderful - I hope to return very soon!

I stayed at this charming rental while recovering from surgery. (There is a ramp at back of house used for a walker.) It turned out to be the ideal relaxing atmosphere needed. This sparkling clean house has been lovingly renovated to a "T". It's bright and airy, new elements combined with the rustic. Immaculate interior and exterior with thoughtful attention to detail evident throughout. A bedroom (very comfortable beds!) on the first floor has an ocean view as did the living room, upstairs bedroom and wraparound porch. Fond memories of waterviews include time spent gazing at nearby Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse from the porch with morning coffee. There is a quiet beach at the end of the dead-end street that was enjoyed by my visitors. Christine, a lifelong local resident, is knowledgeable and attentive. She has provided everything one might need, including a fully-stocked kitchen, new cookware and lots of utensils, new stackable washer/dryer, television and WiFi of course, though there is so much to see and do in nearby Rockland, minutes away. Great local seafood, lobsters and oysters abound! Excellent restaurants, or specialty markets if you want to cook at home. Jess' Market and Archer's Restaurant nearby became favorites. Museums, lighthouses, galleries, interesting small shops. A lovely experience at Ocean Avenue house. Looking forward to return again. Wonderful stay, gracious hosts!

House is like New with wonderful amenities including luxurious sheets and towels. We had breakfast and dinner out every night and all was excellent
