Our final night of our holiday in South Africa so we decided to splash out and spend a little more by booking De Kloof. We did not regret it. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady who said we could select from two different rooms that were available. Both were absolutely beautful, very spacious with high quality furnishings. We selected "Merlot". The room was fantastic. Huge bathroom, lovely balcony overlooking the garden and extremely comfortable. After a lot of time in the car we had a lovely afternoon relaxing in the sun by the pool where there was a drinks service by ringing a bell. The location was a little way off the main street but walkable to the restaurants. Breakfast in the morning was a little slow but perfectly acceptable.

The room was nice big with a comfortable bed. I liked the fact that the bed was long enough to accommodate my length of 1.90 meters. The bathroom was had all the amenities that I expect and it a shower and a bath.

The facility had no back up electricity. For a small Bouquet Hotel, I would have liked under cover parking.

Hostess disbelieving me when I told her I could hear the footsteps of the people above our bedroom.

Beautiful location with lots of flowers and greens. Very nice hostess and very serviceminded staff. Beautiful room with a nice balcony, comfortable pool and agreat spa.

The room was large and the bathroom very nice The breakfast was good Our car was wiped down complimentary. A taxi was arranged for our restaurant

The room was upstairs so carrying our bags in was difficult - there was a person to help though.

Lovely breakfast served on the terrace by a very friendly lady. Beautiful surroundings around the old, historic building. Swimming pool with mountain views Five minutes walk main road, (quite steep on return). A further 10 max to a choice of 3/4 restaurants. Huge room and bathroom.

The room needed a little attention for example the bathroom blinds didn’t work and the safe was small and difficult to operate. The bed linen was quite discoloured, maybe due to the property not being on mains drainage? Generally a little ‘tired’.

There are several flights of quite steep and uneven stone steps to negotiate, none of which have handrails. We are quite elderly and these do present quite a problem.

Excellent breakfast served on the terrace. Very comfortable bed and plenty of space in the room. The bathroom was huge. There is no longer an on site restaurant which was a disappointment but the hotel booked us a table at an excellent local restaurant 15 minutes walk away and recommended a taxi for our return trip.

We are not keen on overhead "rainfall" showers that make it difficult not to wet hair. WiFi was a but slow but probably due to regular loadsheading.

too much chlorine smell in the room need to replace torn curtains make sure the guests are given parking on arrival.. an outside Yoga group had taken up all the parking we were asked to park a little way from the parking lot under a tree which was okay however we had to walk a bit further to our suite which is also okay and however the staff who checked us in did not offer to carry my bag … I am a slightly older lady and she quite young walking ahead of me with just the keys. she did apologise for not reserving a parking area and admitted missing the arrival of the yoga group who should have parked outside?

Very stylish accomodation. Excellent pool area. Friendly pool guy who also washes your car.Excellent breakfast served on terrace. Generator backs up the kitchen to combat load sharing cuts.Easy walk to town and restaurants.The accomodation was beautifully and stylishly decorated. Both breakfasts and staff were delightful.

No backup power in room.This was the most expensive place out of 7 that we stayed in and we felt it was a little overpriced. The restaurant was not open for dinner.

Hotel is set in beautifully kept grounds. It is a peaceful and relaxing setting. The hotel building is very impressive and has plenty of character and history.

Very nicely decorated modern rooms in historical buildings. The staff is amazing, especially the pool guy who even cleans your car in the morning. Nice pool area. Very good breakfast served at your table. Not too far from the toen centre where you can find plenty of restaurants and shops.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make our stay special. Charlene is an excellent hostess and gave good references for restaurants etc. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained and the spa treatment very nice.

Personally we would have liked a flat sheet on the bed and not just a duvet.
