Our third stay at this particular Mercure in Chartres. We love the location and the fact that in a busy city it is so quiet. Reception staff are always so helpful.

J'adore cet hôtel, nous y venons souvent pour de petits séjours dans cette belle région.
L'hôtel est beau, calme les chambres sont confortables, la literie parfaite, la vue sur la cathédrale très agréable. O.n se sent bien... Le petit déjeuner est complet, délicieux, dans un joli cadre ...
C'est de loin mon Mercure préféré.
L'hotel est idéalement situé. Le seul inconvénient est ldonc la difficulté à se garer dans le quartier.
Le parking souterrain à proximité, cœur de ville, est à privilégier...

Good location, but very basic room for the cost. Good breakfast and friendly staff but very much felt like a motel than a hotel.
Basic room, very worn and clinical. Have paid the same to stay in far superior hotels in the area.

You can see the cathedral’s spires when standing just outside the Hotel’s lobby, if you frown and believe in it hard enough. As we were about to walk into Chartre’s drizzle to be blown away by imaginative projection of lights on Chartres’ cathedral, the receptionist handed us two umbrellas. We had already noticed her warmth and became grateful for her attention to details. For food, Novotel does Novotel and that’s fine. But, step out, turn left and you’ll find a gem of a Japanese restaurant. For Breakfast, we sat in a boulangerie 15 min walk away, it had a world record Madeleine on display (size of a small pet).
Nothing. i was prepared to dislike the underground car park nearby but it was the cleanest I had ever seen.

Great location, comfortable room.
Shower was broken - kept falling off the attachment. Wine from the bar was off. However staff were responsive when informed of these issues, and took more details about shower and refunded the wine.

Good location. Ten minute walk to cathedral. Near restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out. Good breakfast. Can park in front to load and unload baggage. Comfortable beds.
Shower is open to room. Room becomes hot and steamy during showers.

Decor, view of cathedral blocked, tv could not get internet, wifi iffy, coffee machine not working, handle of toilet on inside fell off so could not get out. Shower tepid. Parking very expensive.

Rooms were fine, large enough, comfortable. The location is great, an easy walk to the cathedral and old town. Value is spot on. If you drive, there is a convenient space in front of the hotel where you can unload your vehicle and check in. After you check in, best to park in the Coeur de Ville parking lot nearest the hotel, better still to reserve your spot online.
Not much. Everything was pretty great, except things the hotel can't control, like traffic and narrow streets, that's the nature of the place.

The Mercure is extremely well sited in Chartres, within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions, which are many. Breakfast is excellent, and staff always friendly and helpful. There is a pleasant outside table by the bar and the hotel offers free snacks such as fruit.
We have stayed at this hotel before, and this time our room, for which we paid the same price, was smaller and not so well sited to connect with our disabled daughter's room. There was a heatwave while we were there, and our bedroom window could not be opened, though the air conditioning was working, thank goodness.

Great location, near the heart of Chartres. Three minutes walk from the Cathedral.
Check in staff were amazing - all very helpful!
The room is very clean, functional and a reasonable size.
Breakfast was standard hotel fare - all fresh, plentiful (and great coffee!)
Hotel offers discount parking at nearby carpark (even though it's a little complicated to sort out the pre-booking process and carpark ticketing system (the carpark attendants were very helpful!) Parking out the front of the hotel to drop off/collect bags is an added bonus!

when I wake up in the morning, I can see the beautiful cathedral from my bed!
It was one of the best mornings of my life!!!
(You should request a room with a view of the cathedral whenever possible)
I had an issue with our room on arrival but the staff quickly and enthusiastically resolved the issue.

Quiet Night, Easy drop off, closeness to the Cathedral easy parking very close to the hotel. The family room was good and very clean.
The prepay parking online site was complicated, I appear to have paid online and paid again when I left the car park.
