I liked that the hotel accepted the most guests.

I didn't like that the hotel is a bit far from the city center

reasonable accommodation with friendly staff especially Luis and Luisa and the gorgeous dog

could do better with the reservation system, but apart from that hiccup it was a lovely stay! I hope to be back

Very quiet and clean. Great staff and very helpful. Rooms are nice and air conditioned very clean.

You really need a car if staying. Very long hill back up to the hotel if you walk into town.

Helpful staff. Good wi-fi! Nice salt water pool (which, in my opinion, is preferable!) and they had no issues with us diving to the pool! There’s a lukewarm jacuzzi, which is also pretty nice. The rooms are comfy. Location-wise, although quite far from Arouca, Vale de Cambra has some really nice restaurants and for cheaper prices (more of the type of portuguese “tascas”). So, on that regard, it’s quite nice, as a location. And the hotel has parking, which is also cool. Best price/quality relationship we found.

Breakfast was quite simple - no buffet, no eggs or bacon. Just ham, cheese, 1 bread bun, a slice of cake, orange juice and coffee/milk/tea. But still good. And efficient. Location-wise, you should bear in mind that you’ll be a ~30min drive away from Arouca (and with very “countryside roads” - that is, narrow, dark and in middle of the woods) and ~45min drive away from the passadiços. But as I said, for food, you might be better served at the center of Vale de Cambra (~3/4min by car and ~20/25min walking).

Good location to discover the Douro valley.

Difficult communication with the staff of the hotel unless you talk Portugues. They don't speak English very well

Confortable room and beds. Full space for all 4 (2 rooms in one) For summer time, a nice swimming pool ... mini-football table and ping-pong... Local fruit for breakfast.

I was expecting more local products for breakfast. Just supermarket cheese and ham, regular bread, and hypercaloric cereals. The restaurant inside the hotel didn't worth the price. Basic dishes, overrated prices.
