Superb location with good walks nearby. The mill wheel was a feature in the bar.

Our room was small, we were hardly able to pass one another between bed and desk.

Had a room at the far end above service entrance. Woken at 6am to sound of large bins being moved which went on for 25mins

Facilities were sub standard , low water pressure for the shower , bad smell in the room what smelt like sick

The room was clean and comfortable although it was small - and the bathroom was especially small.

The public areas were very tired and dirty. Food ordered in the restaurant had to be sent back to the kitchen because it was lukewarm rather than hot when delivered to the table. The minimal staff at breakfast were struggling to replenish the buffet, and there was very little to choose from: at only half way through the breakfast service some essentials had completely run out (a usual situation according to one member of staff!). The number of staff on duty was clearly inadequate to look after the guests in a completely full hotel. Although parking was available, there were no spaces reserved for disabled guests, and there were insufficient spaces for a full hotel - thus we had to park some distance away in a public car park.
