Bad smell in the room.

The staff were very helpful. The room and bathroom were separate as described (only across the hall). The hotel was really clean, tidy and provided everything we needed. The hotel had lockable storage for bicycles. We ate at the hotel and the food was really good.

The only negative was the traffic noise through the night, but we did have the window open. Probable fine with the window shut.

there was a street fest when we stayed which boomed disco music until 0500 no sleep possible!!! no overnight reception staff!!! we asked the hotel for some compensation on the basis they could have told us that there was a street fest outside their hotel, they replied that it’s not their responsibility to tell guests, despite the rooms being described as “quiet” avoid at all costs

The room was very hot and when you open the window the church bells and train crossing make a lot of noise all through the night

Music in bar is too loud

The room has been recently renovated and has a modern slate bathroom with power shower. The bedroom has a beautiful wooden wall. The bed was very comfy but the pillows are typically Swiss style, so for international travellers may seem a bit thin. Stunning mountain views from the bedroom. Parking is very convenient and free of charge. Very nice Thai restaurant which caters for vegetarians. Friendly reception staff. The hotel is located in the centre of Ilanz, which is a small town but with quite a few restaurants, shops, cultural options within easy walking distance. Only 10 minute drive to Flims-Laax ski resort.

We appreciated the very friendly staff and the quality/freshness of the food. The restaurant of the hotel serves a selection of Thai dishes that are excellent. The rooms are very clean and quite well insulated from noise. The hotel has a parking space that we could use for free and it is 10-15 minutes by car from two excellent ski resorts.

Overall there were many small peculiarities and things that were not what I would expect in a 3 star hotel, but none of them might necessarily be that bad to ruin one's holiday. A few examples to clarify... Despite the breakfast was made out with very fresh ingredients, both the overall selection of available food and the quality/price ratio might not be so convenient considering the overall cost per person. The hotel has no actual "reception", it happened to us to arrive at 2PM and to find a sign saying that the reception was "closed" from 2 to 5PM which made the check in process quite confusing. The checkout was the same problem: at 7AM we wanted to leave and go skiing but we couldn't finalize the checkout because nobody was there to handle the paperwork. The morning breakfast opened in three days at three different times and we couldn't find this information anywhere to plan our early wake up accordingly. We had to skip the breakfast one morning in order to get on the ski slopes as planned. The hotel has no proper "lobby room": we wanted to drink a coffee and relax a bit but we could only use the restaurant room, which then started getting full with people coming for dinner. Also we couldn't charge the coffee on the room, as the hotel didn't offer this option.

The staff was super friendly, the athmosphere and SPA are were very nice! We had a lovely dinner in the Cave restaurant and the breakfast was also very good.

Only downside is that the toilet was on another floor
