The longer we stayed here the more we liked it! The location is wonderful - just a very short walk to downtown Russell with shops and restaurants. And what you get in exchange is an incredible view! Bed was the comfiest of our trip - cushy and soft but not saggy at all. Good a/c but nice to have the doors open in the daytime. Lots of good walks and we swam a few times at the beach that was 2 minutes away. Great stay!

The rooms were very spacious with stunning views of the bay, mine more so than my parents (view was partly blocked by shrubs). The hosts were so helpful and amazing. We were running late from a trip coming back and Catherine took off my mum's washing from the line and folded them so neatly and put them within easy access, we were so touched by that! Thanks so much Catherine!!

As the rooms are downstairs, it's not very soundproof so you can hear people walking upstairs and moving stuff/talking loudly. Of course this didn't happen all day/night so if you're an early sleeper/light sleeper, this might bother you slightly.

absolutely immaculate rooms. Catherine and Stewart have thought of EVERYTHING to make a stay in one of their rooms as comfortable as being in your own home. plenty plugpoints for recharging, a bin in the room and one in the bathroom, mosquito repellent, towels to take to the beach etcetc

one must be fit to climb up the VERY steep driveway back to the lodge

The accommodation was superb and everything was to a high standard we wish we had stayed for a longer period. The location was also perfect for sightseeing and restaurants all within walking distance.
