Didn’t like the rear entrance to bar. It was a bit dated and the floor was uneven. It was also very hot in the bedrooms and not very clean- hairs and dust!

Unfriendly staff, definitely not a warm welkom. They needed my creditcard and registration first. Not asking how the journey had been.

Website is appalling. SIX copies of the same (unwanted) message & everyone repeated the info. THREE times. So 18 huge copies! Drives you bananas! Bedroom much too hot, although the weather was NOT particularly hot. Very little storage space. To much of the incessant mindless noise (Musak?) coming out of the speakers.

There was no one there to greet and direct me to my room. I was left written instructions on the counter. The kettle in the room was disgusting and unusable. I ordered an early breakfast but none was produced for me.

Lovely location in pretty village. Absolutely amazing breakfasts. Clean and comfortable

Upstairs corridors dated, room was basic but fine.

We stayed overnight at The Castle Inn Hotel in Bramber while walking the South Downs Way. A nice welcome from the young staff and a large, comfortable room on the second floor. A very good katsu chicken curry for dinner, with a glass of ale from the local micro brewery. A good night's rest and a great choice of breakfast options to set us up for our walk the next day - I had a huge mushroom and cheese omelette!

Food and location both excellent

Location - lovely village. Near to start of walks. Room was lovely and comfortable. Options of tea, coffee, hot chocolate upon arrival.

On-site parking. Helpful staff. Everything well thought out within limited space. Great facilities, & clean. A la carte breakfast included. Dined PM in the hotel's restaurant (supplementary). Wanted a second night's stay, but unsurprisingly fully booked.

Booking.com's multiple communications. Confirmation, reminder, payment advice, payment taken, all generate a huge email repeating the hotel's T&Cs (12!)

All staff very friendly and helpful. Evening meals excellent.Bedroom lovely and warm.
