Het personeel is uitermate vriendelijk en bereid je te helpen waar mogelijk. Vaak hoeft dat niet, want alles is redelijk goed geregeld. Als bezoeker kun je je boodschappen in 1 van de meerdere koelkasten doen. Er is een mogelijkheid om een afhaalmaaltijd op te warmen in de magnetron, er zijn meerdere waterkokers en koffiefaciliteiten aanwezig en het restaurant is meer dan prima. Op de kamer hadden we 2 bedden en 2 stoelen met een tafeltje. Ontbijt was inbegrepen en redelijk uitgebreid.

De douches zijn gecombineerd met de toiletten en zijn redelijk verouderd. Die zouden wel een opknapbeurt mogen gebruiken. Ook de aangegeven aanwezige douchegel bleek uit een spuitfles te komen, die overigens leeg was. Verder zijn er wel wat vliegen in de omgeving, we hebben onze elektrische vliegenmepper tevoorschijn gehaald.

De accommodatie op zich was prima. Helaas werd een van ons ziek waardoor we ons geplande verblijf van vier dagen hebben gehalveerd. Het personeel was ons zeer terwille en heeft de helft van onze betaling onverplicht terugbetaald. De kamer en het restaurant waren uitstekend.

De toegangsweg van 22 km was met een gewone personenauto nauwelijks te doen. Een 4WD zou de vele kuilen en losse stenen beter aan kunnen. Mede om deze reden hebben we ons verblijf ingekort, ook omdat in de directe omgeving weinig te doen was. De waterval Aldeyarfoss was nog verderop en dat wilden we onze auto niet aandoen!

Exceeded out expectations! Breakfast was amazing! Restaurant and bar on site were a bonus. Lots of fun Icelandic things to read.

It was perfect!

Breakfast was good. Plenty of options plus a nice breakfast area to eat. Dinner at the Kidagil Guesthouse was also very good. Location was on a dirt/gravel road, but convenient to nearby waterfalls. Scenic location.

Beautiful quiet location in the Icelandic outback but not too far from Akureyri. I had an evening meal in the restaurant. Roasted cod and this was the best meal I have had for a long time. Excellent prompt friendly service. Breakfast was also excellent with glutenfree bread available. There were also kettles, cups and coffee available to take to my room in the corridor if wanted. Bed was comfortable and the room pleasant and near to the shared bathroom which had lovely big shower. I loved the features: the map of the area painted onto the wall and lots of books available on shelves in the corridor. Wifi also firstrate despite the location. The cost of this accommodation is the lowest in the area but the facilities were as good as any that I have been in in this region at double the price and more.

very little to complain about. One small problem was the distance of the socket in the room to the fixed desk: too far for a laptop cable. The actual socket seemed dangerously loose in the wall and the blackout blind was broken although it was still possible to pull it down. I could have done with a thicker duvet. The lack of carpet in the corridors means that noise levels are a little high when people come in and out to use the bathrooms although this is a small hotel with not so many guests. The information on booking.com should include the distance (23 km) from the main road on a dirt track which is not well-maintained.
