We had a real adventure and the place felt very authentic. The owner was extremely kind and an interesting and stimulating conversation partner ( in French), who was knowledgeable about the area and the local culture. We learnt a lot.
We were welcomed with the traditional mint tea and small patisseries.
We liked eating our dinner and breakfast the next day under the caïdal tent.
We were amazed at how much was available in this forlorn place. Dinner was a simple but delicious chicken tagine with a salad and fresh tangerines as dessert.
The local oase made for an interesting walk
We arrived just after a big rain, so everything was muddy and dusty, but the perception of what rain means reminded us of huge cultural differences, which is always a humbling experience for us tourists.
We would go back just for the feeling of being so "far from it all" - also, the owner's welcome was great and very genuine.
Better quality sheets and towels would be necessary, as well as working bedside lamps, for a good service.
The room advertised a private bathroom, which was in fact only a shower cubicle with a trickle of water.
The toilets were in the yard and used by everybody else.
The internet access was intermittent and only where we sat for dinner/ breakfast.
The facilities were either old or broken ( no working lamp apart from the dim ceiling light.

The host and his family are very wonderful people. Most helpful people you can come across in a strange land. Made us feel as part of his own family.

Traditional guesthouse with super friendly host. Really enjoyed our stay. The chicken tajine we had for dinner was one of the best we had during our stay in Morocco.

Loved the traditional building and relaxing in the tent. Safe fenced parking, beautiful view from the rooftop terrace.
Comfortable bed, hot shower, beautiful yard, friendly hosts who know some English.
Clean and cozy!
As we had already known from previous reviews, dinner is a bit expensive for what you get.

Very nice place and very friendly. Greatful surrounding
The price for the dinner 8€ for tajine is to expensive, even if our men were hungry other dinner.

Tarmguist is a wonderful place to stay and the local area is beautiful. Mohamed and his family are very kind and welcoming. Have your breakfast while enjoying the view of the oasis. At night you can gaze at the stars. We had a truly relaxing few days here and look forward to visiting again.

We had an EXCELLENT 3 night stay here with my family and friends/coworkers. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The entire place was VERY clean and VERY peaceful. It was such a relaxing time! We really enjoyed walking through the palm trees and visiting the nearby caves! We also LOVED the garden area, watching the stars at night AND the amazing campfire! We will certainly be back to visit Guelmim AND stay at Tarmguist!
All was EXCELLENT!

Hard to find at night but look for the blue lit palm tree and you'll find it.
Very welcoming family.
We would have loved to stay longer.

The best part of Maison d'Hôtes Tarmguist was the kind, genuinely warm reception of our hosts Hassan, his wife Zohra, and his sons Mohammed and Ayoub (Hassan is very knowledgeable about the history of the region.) Next, their totally peaceful, sparkling desert oasis created seemingly out of nothing.
These are simple accommodations, not for people looking for luxuries such as a private bathroom and premium linens. You go there for the absolute calm, the delicious Moroccan food, the sweetness of the hosts, and to imagine long caravans of dromedaries passing through here on their way from the Sahara to the sea.

The location of this place is a bit off beat, but the place is so very peaceful, I truly loved the host Mohammad’s hospitality and his passion to serve, he grows most of the veggies at his own small little farm just outside the hotel, the terrace of this hotel is an amazing place to have dinner/ b/f and to watch the clear stary skies
The bed is a bit small & basic

Didn't have breakfast as I left in the early morning to attend the dromedary market in Guelmim.

Amazing location in a traditional village in an oasis. Traditional house with a courtyard and a Berber tent downstairs and a roof terrace. Host was very hospitable. Dinner was traditional tagine with chicken and home-grown vegetables. Setting was very peaceful and calm.
The beds and shower facilities are fairly basic but that's fine if you're not expecting a 5-star hotel in the middle of the desert.
