unclear (and often unusual) resteraunt opening times, unclear when things weren’t included as part of all inclusive, things that were not seemed exorbitantly priced, some staff extremely slow with orders or just forgot them, some staff pushy with the “free” boat trips etc, resort a little tired in places and needs TLC, water running down our toilet wall…

The adults-only Ambre is an amazing resort that caters for all your needs. The food offering at the various restaurants is great and the beautiful beach and activities on offer are more than enough to keep one entertained. It was a beautiful, relaxing holiday.

Phenomenal beachfront and ocean views!!!!!! Belle Mare is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!! Beautiful room & hotel. The upgrade to a room with a view of the ocean......gorgeous!!! Exceptional breakfast & dinner buffet...with dinner options/variety+++++. Extremely attentive and helpful manager, Mr Rakesh Rai ensured a wonderful and memorable stay and managed to extend our stay when our flights were delayed even though the Resort was extremely busy. Thanks Sir, for your sterling efforts!!! Thanks to Parlene for always ensuring a tidy and clean room with a smile on her face. Thanks to our waitress Priyanka for always checking up on my 90 year old mom at meal times.

I love the beauty of the location and the atmosphere of the Hotel and friendly and accommodating staff.

I think that they could have a few more waiters around the pool to serve the drinks.

The location and resort were both great and the variety of water activities included in the price was excellent.

The food was very average which was a little disappointing.

rooms full of cockroaches and ants. cleaning is only possible if you request at the reception. the sheets were not changed until after I called twice, after 7 days. bad and expensive food. service at a la carte restaurants is bad. the drinks from the bars on the beach and the pool tasteless. a very bad experience.

Exceptional customer service from front of house staff, and actually all the staff we encountered. Communication prior to arrival was first class, in particular with Ankush Sungkur, helping me arrange extra special flower decorations for the room, as it was my partners 40th birthday the day we arrived. Not only did the flowers and birthday message look incredible, we were treated to much more and made to feel like VIPs. A truly unforgettable experience. The hotel was clean, safe and friendly. The food and drink service was great, the beach views breathtaking. The inclusion of golf at a nearby island was something special. Snorkelling, sailing, windsurfer, paddling, couples massage near the beach... we packed so much into a 7-night stay, too much to include in this review. Would definitely like to return one day and can authentically recommend this resort to anyone else looking for a magical Mauritius experience.

Beach was clean and wonderful there was enough place for all. Food was fresh and tasty, a lot of seafood as well.

Overpriced taxi in the hotel. If you go out 100meters out of hotel taxi will cost 50% less.

Very relaxing,loving and caring vibe.What ever you ask they make it possible.Mr Putee the Hotel Manager is hands on and always to be seen,mange the staff,see that the guests are comfortable and happy.He surprised us with a bottle of Champagne in the room,and a going away dinner on the beach which was so surprising.The service of Amar and Deepak at the Beach restaurant is oustanding!The food served plated and so tasty,you can basekly ask for anything and it can be served.The buffet Resataurant"s food was also outstanding and improved from previous times.Other names to mention is Soosbash at the beachbar always mixing a cocktail as you wish.Dolce Vita paste Restaurant is another option to choose from foof also amazing and a lovely view of the sea.service excellense!

We stayed in hotel Ambre for 11 nights and loved it. The resort was full with different activity options for them who wanted to experience them. For them who just wanted to stay and lay on the sun, was Ambre also perfect. The food, especially in Dolce vita restaurant was amazing. Also the service there was amazing. Recommendation to eat half at Indigo and half at Dolce vita. They also have the third one la Plage, which we never visited due to it wasn’t included to AI. The stuff was always so nice and helpful.

It was a bit confusing at the beginning that there were things that were not included to AI, but after a few days we got used to it and then it was ok. The sun beds were easily available during the first week of our stay, but during the second week, which was a Christmas week, we noticed that if we tried to go to the beach after 10 am, all sun beds with a shadow umbrella were already taken and thus we needed to wake up earlier in order to get a sun bed. Even though most beds were reserved throughout the day, there were many empty most of the time, which was boring to those who didn’t get the bed. Boring. The rooms were ok, not so fresh and updated though. Reality is pretty much like what the pictures show. In general, the rooms and the whole hotel would have benefit of some renowations. The location was not best, if you want easily explore the island. In close by areas there is a bit to see in walk distance, but not a lot.

Ambre had such an amazing vibe and the beach, the pool, the food and the staff were all AMAZING!! We had come from a neighbouring resort and Ambre was bar none a thousand times better, right from the get go, we won’t stay at any other resort when we come to Mauritius again - Ambre has stolen our hearts!! ❤️Tracy checked us in was very thorough & friendly. We had a large quiet, beautiful, clean, room & the king sized bed was so comfy. The complimentary mini bar in the room was restocked daily with beer, pop, water, chocolate bars & chip - Nice touch!! We also really like the tea & coffee (with real milk) that was provided in the room - Nice Touch. We also had a beautiful ocean facing deck that had comfortable furniture. Ravish looked after our room perfectly was super friendly & professional. We celebrated my husbands 60th bday at Dolce Vita - Davisen the restaurant Manager & Ayess took very good care of us, making us feel very valued & special, the service that was provided was the best - professional, friendly & the food was delicious & top quality. We celebrated our 25yr anniversary at Le Plage & Ashiss was wonderful, friendly & professional - the food was excellent!! Anntish looked after our food/drinks on the beach, he was amazing & always had a beautiful smile for us! Vishnu the bartender & Ashwin in the poolside lounge were both so prompt, efficient & friendly. The buffet where we mostly ate had a really great selection of hot and cold food with an ever-changing menu of local & international dishes . All in all we had a wonderful stay at Ambre & all of the staff were super. Thank you for everything. We will definitely be back!! ❤️

I definitely recommend this hotel because it is right on the beach, has great pools, delicious food, welcoming staff and friendly service.
