The Crown Hotel is central to the city, high on a hill with the city below, with great foreshore and ocean views. The staff were friendly and helpful and there were signs the new owners have spent a lot of money on renovations.
The bedrooms are large and well air conditioned but mine was not that clean. The external windows were dirty affecting the view (as we the lobby doors and window that didn't look like they'd seen a cleaner for a long time), cilings were water stained and grubby, air vents likewise. Would not have survived a white glove test. There is now only the main restaurant working and there's nowhere to get a snack of any kind. ot even a simple sandwich. The club lounge used to be a great social space but is now not even accessible - despite being advertised as "club lounge access" in the booking. it's now just a room with chairs in it. No coffee machine, soft drinks, evening nibbles. The bar was empty for the four nights I was there.

The location is right in the city and close to all shops, restaurants and the beach. & The view was just phenomenal.
We booked a room with 2 large double beds and they gave us a room with 1 bed.
The balcony door was also locked and not accessible and we couldn't open it either.

The most memorable thing for me were The cafe restaurant staff, they were very friendly and helpful. Food was better than most hotels I've stayed in.
The room had the best pillows I have used, very comfortable.
First negative I experienced, straight away, was the check-in staff members. 3 out of 5 of them were not so friendly.
Be careful with the Bar staff, if they see that you are not a regular, they will try to keep your change and ignore you hoping that you give up and walkaway.

I Stayed for 7 days was an old room that has lot to be fixed. The staff were good 99%. . No swimming pool to swim in the hot sun . The food was good. The room was dirty hot and smelly when I got in so i has to ask for vacuum cleaner to vacuum the room. air-conditioning not working asked the maintenance to check on that and ask them to open the Balcony need fresh air breeze. Apart from that everything was all good.thanks for well looked after.

The internet is very poor in this hotel. It has been my second time staying in this hotel, and they are doing nothing to improve the internet connection.

I didn't have breakfast, the location was quiet, i needed the rest so that was good.The dinner was excellent 👌. Presentation was spot on and very filling. Beds were comfortable 😌 staff were friendly. Excellent service.
2 things: the water from the bathroom faucet, when turned on came out sprinkling, didn't really enjoy the bath. And the food got delivered 25-30 mins late.

The aircon is not working well. We reported it to front desk then they sent their maintenance, however,the maintenance said he will figure out what happened and get back to us but we waited till we slept already and woke up sweating. The aircon in my personal room in my accommodation is far better than their aircon at the hotel.
