The staff was nice, bed was really comfortable.

The room looked nice on the photos but in reality it needed a lot of maintenance. The shower drain was clogged, there was no toilet paper when we arrived, balcony wasn't very clean either and the hair dryer looked so old I was scared to use it.

Why this was the worst stay during our Trip: - The receptionist was friendly but unorganized. She didn’t expect us, then she gave us a wrong room, one of the rooms wasn’t ready, even though the hotel seemed empty - The hotel is worn down, maybe it was nice once, but that must have been years ago. The Sofa was so full of Spots, I didn’t dare to touch it. The sideboard seemed infested with little insects. The roof in the bathroom seemed to have considerable water damage. - The balcony was not open but closed off by glass from the outside, more like a wintergarden and they had put several air conditioning machines on it. It was rather a sauna than a usable balcony. - Loud street - The hotel obviously had a cockroach problem. There was an exterminator, the chemical smell had us coughing. We saw several cockroaches in the lobby. We decided we didn’t feel comfortable to sleep here and booked another hotel

Worn down furnitures, curtains almost coming off. Very noisy, could hear other guests alarm going off and the phone at the reception ringing the morning.

The person who was working there was polite. And that was the only positive thing about the place. I dont want to say anything bad about him even tho he wasnt honest about the hole in the ceiling as I understand he is only working there. Cant blame him.

The hole in the ceiling with water dripping to a basket. We've arrived at 1AM and were told all the other rooms are taken and that it happened just before our arrival. The mold was EVERYWHERE. The worst place we've ever stayed in. On top, the room was facing a busy road so you could hear very loudly all the cars passing by. We slept like 2h total.

Hotel room standards, cant complain at all!! Only that balcony is actually not a true balcony as there is still the outer glazing beyond and defo its hot (Colombo is scorching hot!) so not ideal to chill after a long city wandering.

The room was a really good size with a balcony space outside. The hotel is located in the Borella area and there aren't a lot of places to eat/shop within walking distance. We ordered food in which wasn't an issue with the hotel.

My parents had a wonderful stay in the hotel. The staff were great and also treated them with all their heart. They were like a family to my parents. Great thanks to Fiona, Inusha, Rasintu and Aroni (spelling might be wrong).

The staff, when there was a chance to see them, was nice.

There was no blanket for one of the beds. There was no-one at the reception, the hotel contact number is wrong in booking.com. found correct number in google but no-one aswered the phone - i could just hear it ring endlessly downstairs. No-one aswered my email. Ended up sleeping without the blanket. The floors in the room were so dirty that walking around a couple of minutes, we had to wash our feet again...

Good location and highly friendly staff.

The room was comfortable. Fiona at reception was just great. She gave us good practical advice on how to get around and where to go for the specific items we were looking for. WiFi was good at reception but not in the room, but the staff sorted the problem for us.

The breakfast was average.

Really big room with big window and balcony. All room include bathroom have a modern design. Big TV, AC working very well, helpful personal

Little bit far away from city center. But it's not problem if you are at the city where taxi cost about 2 usd.

overall a nice city hotel. Price value correspond well. Nice neighbourhood.

There was no breakfast at the moment. Fridge smelly, I was not comfortable eating the things I left there. There was no mini bar or water refill or cleaning in the two days I stayed (but I also did not asked for it 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Our room was little bit overpriced and its ready for renovation because too much moisture in the room. Balcon is not so nice as it looks on pictures

I’ve been travelling around Sri Lanka and have even stayed at top end five star hotels with amazing staff. When I checked into Rockwell Colombo I had the pleasure of meeting a staff filled with superstars. Fiona Fernando, Inusha jayawardana, and Lahiru Gayan by far have been the best hosts. They made my stay at Rockwell Colombo with as much comfort as I would get in my own home. I am happy to have stayed here and become a part of the Rockwell family. God Bless these folks :)
